can i ask a car seat question? The one i have bought doesnt fit properly in my mums or my partners car. Also baby being 10lb i cant carry her in it as my back still hurts.

Has anyone bought on that stays in the car not the carrier style from 0+ and can you advice on which ones you have that are good and any that you have had that you have found bad?
I am going to have to go somewhere and get one! i am a bit annoyed the one i have is no good but it is just a rubbish fit and not worth risking it!

Also has anyone seen any good sales or money off codes i dont really have a budget will pay what i need to get the right seat

What about something like this Jen?

There is also a code jumping about for 10% off if you spend £100 or more during the sale period at Mothercare. I can have a look for you :)

Congratulations Jenjade! Looking forward to hearing the name.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Poppy was spoilt and has loads of clothes, books and toys. She especially likes this ride and go toy my mum and dad got her. Is a rocker at the moment but turns into a bike when she's bigger. She keeps wanting to be put on it. She also got her 1st tooth Christmas day finally! At least that explains the really awful sleeping and seems to be getting slightly better again. Look forward to that with the rest of the teeth.

Also very exciting on Christmas day OH proposed to me!

Hi ladies! Glad to hear you seem to have had nice Christmases.

Congrats Wendz!! How exciting! Have you got any thoughts about when you'll get hitched?

Jenjade - congrats to you too!

Missy - I found DH going to work daunting but it helped me get into a routine quickly and get out to groups. I really hope you don't feel too sad. Perhaps focus on taking tons of piccys for OH so he doesnt miss a thing.

We had a lovely Christmas and looking forward to next year and everything it'll bring x

I like that car seat Gilly it is the one I was looking at! Does anyone have that car seat any feedback? Its the britax first car seat. Might pop to mothercare today and get it sorted! Baby slept so well ast night settled back to sleep in her moses basket after every feed! Only problem I have is my back is really hurting and she is so darn cute I have been awake the last 2 hours looking at her!!

    Hi jenjade
I have the britax first class for my little girl as we couldnt get a carrier in our car. It is a lovely seat, we had to take the /newborn insert out when my daughter got to 12lb as she was uncomfortable. I would definately recommend the car seat

Hey, hope everyone is well. I haven't been on this thread for aaaaages!

We changed to Aptimil Hungry Baby when Amy was 11 weeks old. She was feeding every 2 hours during the day and 3 hourlyish at night. Within 2 days we'd got it to 5 bottles a day (roughly 9, 12, 3, 6 and 9) and no night feeds! It made everything so much easier, especially getting out and about. We also put her onto variflow teats which were much better for her too. She's a big girl, at 7 months she's 22lbs and is on 98th centile for length and between 91st and 98th for weight. She's happy, healthy and thriving on it, so wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. :)

    Thanks Garnet lady!
I started the hungry baby milk yesterday after another awful nights sleep. Hope it starts filling him soon or I think I'll have to start solids! He was restless From midnight and got fed again at 3am. Can't imagine reducing him to 5 bottles, that would be bliss! I have advent bottles so I think the teats are a type of variflow? Out of curiosity, with your girl, when did you introduce solids? Was it before the 6 months recommended?
Big congrats Jenjade! I was laughing at your pregnancy forum post: should you go to your mums for Christmas lunch or the maternity hospital! :rotfl:
Congrats Wendz Christmas engagements are so romantic!

Carseats: I bought £35 and £45 carseats from Argos when DD was 6 months. We have 2 cars and didn't want anything expensive. Have to say they were great and we will use them again for this little one. Also couldn't see why there was a tenner difference, they looked pretty much the same to me. Take really good care of your back Jenjade!!! I got a nursing chair second hand on gumtree and it made a big difference for breast feeding. So comfy and even though I bottle feed now, it still feels like a third of my waking hours are spent in it :D
