blimmin laptop has died so havent been on for a bit,

just wanted to say , samuel has been on the bottle for 3 days now doing well and sleeping soooo much better goes down between 11 and 12 sleeps till 3 then back down till about 6.30 and i feel so refreshed.

will have a read back through now to catch up . x

Glad you are feeling better mirror, don't forget, you can restart bf if you don't leave it too long- hard but do-able - and worth it as statistically mixed feeders do better than formula fed babies.

Sounds like your doing the right thing mirror, and as I said those few feeds will benefit him so the longer you can keep that up the better.

How is everyone else getting on, there haven't been many posts on here recently, hope I haven't scared anyone away, I'm nice really :o even if I do go on and on about bf.

I've just finished for Xmas after doing a half day at work. Today is my first opportunity to get presents wrapped without DD around, she's been teething recently so not sleeping well which has meant I haven't been able to get anything done in the evenings for the last week.

Ahh of course you haven't Jenny! I always feel like I go on about it as well. Hope you manage to get some wrapping done.

Think Poppy might be teething too as she has been sleeping badly and has been pooing more. She has also had rosy cheeks.I always seem to think she is teething though and no teeth yet.

We are nearly all ready for christmas. We are spending it at my parents, leaving either fri night or sat morning. Everything is wrapped and ready to go apart from my mums hamper which i am going to wrap with my sister as she has some bits to put in it. Am so excited for LO's first christmas even though she won't really know whats going on.

My DD is teething again too :( But I'm not convinced that's why she's been waking in the night. She's all over the place at the moment. I think she's hungry. I'm worrying that she's not getting the milk she wants/needs before bed. She always had a feed at bedtime (6:30ish) and that would see her through to morning. But last night for example she didn't take any milk, it seemed like she was frustrated that she couldn't get any. I'm not sure. Maybe the teething meant it was sore to suck? I don't know :( Anyway she woke at midnight, so I fed her then.

Someone has said that getting your period back can reduce milk supply...anyone know if this is true? This waking in the night/hunger would coincide with that as I got my first period back a month ago.

I did google growth spurts, not sure there is one really at 10 months.

Giz, I have heard that it can be painful to suck when they are teething. I guess they decide at some point that filling their bellies over rides any pain hence the midnight feed.

Some people do notice a drop in milk supply/ LO being a bit fussy in the few days before their period, probably a hormone thing, but then it rectifies itself so it shouldn't be a long term problem. Personally I never noticed this and I'm one of the unlucky ones who first got their period when LO was 12 weeks, despite EBF.

Have bought all the presents here for Christmas, but haven't wrapped anything up yet.

Will probably go food shopping on Friday and need to collect the meat from the butchers.

Charlotte is at her Dad's from Friday afternoon to Christmas Eve evening, and she's having presents and a dinner with his family. Then she's having it all again with my family on Christmas Day. She's going to love having it spread over two days, then we're having another festive day at some point between Christmas and New Year when my brother and his family visit. I've been doing damage limitation on the Wii and burned 753 calories in preparation today :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....

    Evening all x

I finished work on tuesday until the new year, yay. All presents sorted but still a little bit of wrapping to do on Christmas Eve. Did most of the food shop today and will just pop in fri for some bread milk and fruit to last a few days - ideally dont want to have to go shopping again till after I'm back at work. Going to see father Christmas tomorrow, I well excited, hope Bob doesnt react badly to him. We didnt manage to go last year as I was poorly after having Bob so Christmas was a bit disorganised. Done alot of baking today with the kids and got to do our mince pies still. I'll probably not be back on till after the big day so hope you all have a lovely Christmas xx
