Giz, In some ways I think its easier that my LO has only slept thru on odd occasions (and its always down to her not napping during the day before) than having a baby with a routine that then goes AWOL. But I'm always on my toes, as every night is different.
I guess I haven't helped matters as I can't deal with trying to train her to settle back. I always take the easy option of taking her into my bed and feeding to sleep again. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
I do and no, never locked the buggy. I also left it outside the library for Rhymetime quite a lot. I cannot believe some people. The worst I had was myself and my 2 friends put our buggies under the shelter outside the surestart center and when we came back the mum's who's buggies were infront of us had obviously moved ours out the way, but didn't bother to put them back under the shelter. Thought that was a little off. It wasn't like it was a sunny day or anything.who uses the surestart centres? Do you leave your buggys in the buggy park outside? Do you ever lock your buggy?
I think you'll be fine at those times. That's about when my OH leaves most mornings. There is the odd occasion when there's an accident. I've been travelling a fair bit on the M25 around 4/5pm on a weekday during mat leave but the opposite direction near your junction and although sometimes it looks quite busy the traffic is always movingMetranil_Vavin wrote: »Hey Debs..I will be coming in from SE London. I have a route planned on my tomtom. According to that it's 27 miles and should take just under an hour. It takes me onto the M25 from the A3.
I guess I just need to see how horrible and busy the A3 is on a weekday morning/afternoon.
I'm planning on trying to get in to work for 8am so I can leave at 4, so will probably have to be leaving about 6.45ish. Do you know what the traffic might be like round that way in the morning Debs?
It's just the big accidents that mess you up.
No! Don't say that!Giz - DS is 11 months now, and for the last few months has been going through all sorts of weird sleep patterns/waking up randomly in the middle of the night. I think it must be to do with growth spurts as my DS was a brilliant sleeper up until he got to about 9 months.
It seems to be settling down a bit again now, although he seems to be catching one cold after another at the moment so is often waking himself up coughing
Sadly I think you just have to ride it out.
I totally understand that...I'm very nervous about baby no2 as I think I've had it very easy so far. That's terrible MERFE, I do always think when I have to leave my buggy anywhere. My Surestart centre is pretty secure, but I guess there's always the chance and insider could take it.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

Nightmare about your buggy MERFE. Some people are so scummy..fancy nicking a baby's buggy
I think we have had it relatively easy with DS too, as when he does go through a bad patch we really notice it!
Giz I'm sure your LO is going through a phase and you'll find she'll suddenly settle down again. Apart from having one cough after another, DS seems to be sleeping through for the most part again, although we do get the odd noght where he'll wake up and need to be re-settled.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Make-it-3 - your little one sounds like mine. I am so used to disrupted nights that vary a lot that it doesn't bother me although the last few days have been a bit trying.0

Ours is inside the primary school grounds and not visible from the road - so most likely someone that was visiting the centre, there have been all sorts of lovely buggys parked there and I've never seen any locked up because you can move them around to get yours in under the shelter but I'll be using the locks from now on because I just cant be doing with the hassle and we have no spare now.
Anyones little one have a dummy still? I'm thinking of taking Bobs away just after Christmas, he has it to sleep and when we are out or if he is very grumpy. I imagine there is going to be alot of crying, especially to sleep which is going to be hard but also I know the sooner its done the better really.0 -

Hi, forgive me crashing in... I live in SW19, and often used local roads, then A3 and M25 past the chertsey turn off to get to work in the mornings (relief not doing so now on pre-baby mat leave!!). I'm afraid unless you leave very early its pretty heinous. Pre-PG, i used to leave the house by 6.15am, and it took 45mins ish total to Heathrow, just to beat the traffic. Or leave after 9.15am, and it is more like an hour. In between times, which is what i could manage whilst PG, anywhere between an hour and 1.45mins is standard. The A3/M25 junction seems to be a slow one, and the run up to Chertsey or M3 junction seems to suffer alot from sheer weight of traffic causing slow down.
If you can leave religiously by 6.45 then you might miss some of the worst that hits from 7am, but from experimentation from 6.15 is when the build up starts, so the closer you can get to that, the better!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Kira thanks for your post.
We did the journey to Chertsey this morning, obviously doing it on a Sunday morning is going to be a totally different ball game to a weekday morning, but I was amazed at how it isn't actually that far.
It took about 50 mins each way, and that included stopping for petrol and taking a wrong turning.
I'll try it anyway, if leaving at 6.30-6.45 doesn't work, I'll just have to leave earlier.
As it looks like a 2 hour journey by 3 trains, I can't really see any alternative.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0
