Hi ddebski, sounds like things are going well for you and you have a nice routine.
Poppy wouldn't go to sleep till 12-1am for ages and it wasn't until 5 months she started going to bed at 7. She did slowly bring it forward herself.
I have a Avent electric pump and don't find it too bad. Don't pump much though as she refuses a bottle arghh so only do it when i am giving her baby rice or something.
Starting to think I need to do something about Poppys sleeping , it doesn't bother me too much and most the time i get a reasonable amount of sleep altogether but she has got worse for waking rather than better. If she goes 3 hours now its a good night and she used to do 5/6 hours. I am moving her into her own room in Jan so maybe that will help.0 -

He just seems really hungry, he's gone from feeding every 3ish hours to every 2, and screaming if he comes off the breast accidently! now hes just fed for 5 mins and fallen asleep, after not feeding for 2 hours! Think hes overtired, he barely slept yesterday and last night, its so very frustratig am Very tired, still haven't managed to get anything done, am hoping that he might sleep for atleast long enough for me to have a shower!!

thanks my love, OH can look after him for an hour or so in the afternoon between building and doing stuff on the house, for me to have a snooze. but if i can hear baby crying or being restless i cant sleep, going to have to get over it though as am just so knackered. Weve got visitors (OH's friends who Ive met once!) coming at 1.30 though, hence why im worrying about the mess, so need to try and have a shower and clean up a bit as i smell very fetchingly of milk and the house smells of last nights carbonara, lovely!!!0 -
Hi everyone...will do my best to remember everything, here goes....
Debski - you sound like you're doing a fab job! I was also keen to get into a routine quite quickly and even though things have been tough for us I'm glad we did. Sounds like you have a very content baby :-). Great to hear how things are.
MV - Josh will prob end up getting some more quickly and over take everyone! Bless, I hope it wasn't too awful for him as it cut.
Wendz - fingers crossed Poppy settles better once she's in her own room. Do you always go straight to her when she wakes? Our LO sometimes gets himself back to sleep if he wakes. A lot/most of the time he doesn't!
Mirror - glad to hear you're getting on well with the pump. Must be nice for OH to have some feeding time with LO too.
Missy - sorry you're having a tough time. Sounds like you're doing well in the circumstances. How old is your LO now? Is the screaming always when you stop feeding? Perhaps speak to the feeding specialist at your hosp. I know mine mentioned ways of increasing milk supply if that's what you're worried about? Is your LO colicky too? It's really hard but you'll get through it. Get OH to slow down the invites for a while though!!
Erm ..... sorry to anyone I forgot.
Hi to the Claires and Beccles.
Well my LO had quite a bad flare up of his reflux but meds are being changed so fingers crossed...again! Other than that he's a gorgeous happy, smiley baby when he's not in pain.0 -
Doglover - I do tend to go straight to her during the night as i worry about her waking OH up. Will leave her for a bit when she is in own room.
Glad your LO is doing ok, hope the medication change helps.0 -
Hi Ladies,
Hoping I can join in and ask some questions please? I was until very recently on the main pregnancy thread, then last week I had my daughter by emergency c-section at 28+6 weeks. She is in the neo-natal unit at my local hospital and doing well. She is a fiery little girl and the Doctors are pleased with her progress.
My questions are regarding expressing, obviously she isn't breastfeeding but I eventually want to and I'm expressing at the moment to keep my milk supplies up and provide for her. I am also donating my milk as I'm producing far to much for my little girl! How often should I be expressing to keep my supplies up? Also for anybody else who has had a prem baby, what age can you start breastfeeding and was it easy to get going? I am seeing a breastfeeding lady next week, but thought it can't hurt to ask on here as well!
Also I had my section last Thursday, what is the earliest I can start back on contraception? I have always been on the depo jab and want to go back on it, but I'm not sure when to make an appointment with the Nurse! Not that I'm even thinking about dtd yet, but I like to be prepared!
Sorry for all the questions and information, but all of these things are swimming around my head!!
Thanks and I look forward to joining in!!
