Morning
Sometimes just looking at your baby makes your milk start running mirror! Mine used to start flowing in the shower when the water hit my nipples
Another busy day ahead with lots of work to get through. Hope everyone has a good day xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
My milk used to start running before I even got in the shower sometimes. I'd be standing in the bathroom with it dripping down my saggy tum

Little man had his 1 year review on Friday and all seems OK
He's pinged up from 75th to 91st centile for weight, most likely because he's still having quite a lot of milk in addition to his meals. He still has 4 bottles a day so we've to start using a sippy cup for the daytime milk feeds and switch to cows milk as this should reduce the amount he drinks. We've started with the switch from bottle to cup and this has had mixed results. A couple of times he's drunk a bit of his milk and not been too bothered about drinking the rest of it, then gone on and eaten loads at his next meal (which is what we want to be happening). But other times he really wants his milk and really wants it in a bottle, so has got quite upset and I've had to give in and put the milk in the bottle for him. I've dug out his TT "tip it up" cup as hopefully with the silicone spout that's a better compromise between the bottle and a sippy cup.
We popped along to a toddler group after his review and the Childminder was there with a couple of other little boys she looks after. Joe was crawling towards us and she put her arms out for a cuddle, but he sidestepped her and came to me
- I was pleased about that as I do wonder if he prefers her to me since we each spend 3 days a week with him
She got a cuddle afterwards, but it was good to see he knows who his Mum is
We've had a snotty weekend, little man and me have both had colds. He seemed a lot less snotty this morning, but I feel worse

bigbird i know what you mean about thinking if they prefer the minder to you at times , my two eldest were in a nursery when they were young and they loved it and had some great times, they were quite sad to leave and start normal school and i used to worry at times as they has such great fun there and were quite attached to staff but i always knew they manted me more especially f they were upset or ill. im just glad they were looked after so well when i was at college and work.
hope you both feel better real soon
becles lol as i stepped into the bath last night it all just ran out . my youngest walked in who is 9 and asked why i was wasting samuels milk lol
i was saying to hubby yesterday "ooh samuels going to wake in a minute" and when he asked how i knew i replied "well my boobs are tingling and the milk needs to go somewhere" lolnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
Hi all!
Thanks for all the advice about feeding in public - we went for the pashmina option in the end and I think Finn quite enjoyed being wrapped up to eat his dinner! He slept through the whole meal and only woke up as I finished my coffee so I got to enjoy my rare steak
Mirror - I've been struggling with sore nipples too. My midwife said to use loads of cream or vaseline after each feed and it really has made a difference. I managed to get blisters on my nipples a few days ago but liberal application of nipple cream definitely helped and now they're back to normal-ish!
I'm going to have to think about expressing soon I think. Midwife says not to offer a bottle until breastfeeding is established, which is fine because I want to keep feeding him myself but how do you know when its "officially" established?0 -
:T afternoon Ladies..
I havent been on here in ages.. how is everyone?? XX0 -
Winnie.. established is at about 6 weeks.. but by then they are often reluctant to accept a bottle.. Id go with about 2 weeks if I was going to offer a bottle... esp as there is still gallons of milk to express then so it would make my life easier

Poor Squeak has the most awful sore bottom.. she is getting about 25 molars through by the feel of her mouth.. she has screamed for the last 2 days and was sick this morning.
DD1 fessed up that she is pregnant last night.. I already knew TBH.. this may well become the biggest mistake she has ever made! but Ill not tell her that.
Dots cot just arrived.. the delivery guy was about 200 and almost dead by the time he lugged it across the road.. he should have said he knew OH was here and about 170 years younger so could have got it for him.

Congrats? pigpen!
It's amazing that you knew
when I went home, to tell people I was pregnant, everyone kept telling me how much weight I'd lost and how good I looked  Should have saw there faces when I told them.. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Bigbird - glad the review went well. Bet you were glad he came to you over childminder, he obviously gets on well with her anyway.
Winnie in pooh - glad the meal went well! I agree with pigpen on not waiting too long to give bottle, we didn't give many early on and now she just won't take one.
Ohhh you are going to e a grandparent again PP eek!0 -
