Have you tried warming up the Moses basket with a water bottle before putting him down? We did it for a bit to get the LO used to it.

Thanks for your replies. Yes I have a sling and what a godsend! It's night times that are hardest.

Warm the basket with a hot water bottle? No I haven't tried it, will give it a go. Thanks.

I've downloaded womb sounds too! Desperate or what?!

We have a problem with my mother who is the only person who smokes who regularly comes into contact with our LO. Guarantee within one hour, the baby will be sick even if she hasn't been fed for hours. I'm going to have to stop her seeing the baby at this rate

    Anyone else experienced this?

doglover I tried everything to get my DD to sleep in the moses basket, she just wouldnt and ended up sleeping in the pram until we moved and set up her cot. She used to sleep on us too, I put her on her front to sleep eventually and she slept alot better like that, the way I saw it was its just as bad as me falling asleep on the sofa with her. Bob had to go on his front and both were very sicky babies. My non sicky middle child happily slept on his back but it could be completely unrelated. Bob also used to fall asleep when I was hairdriering (not a real word I know) DD hair, could be worth trying.

Jabs - bob was unaffected completely until the 3rd one when he had a little redness after but no temps or extra wingeyness. Hopefully your little man will have it easy too x

Cheers Merfe. DH puts him on his front and he does settle much better but I'm too paranoid to do it. When DH does it I end up like a Yo Yo checking him! He is happily laying on his side next to me in bed

I can understand that, I was scared with DD so at first I used to put her for her daytime naps on her front so I could keep an eye and she was less grumpy having had a sleep but eventually I needed to sleep at night too.

Typically after doing nothing for ages and now we have booked his checkup - this morning Bob has sat himself up from laying and kneeled up to play with his walker. Clearly he is getting stronger and will get there eventually.

    Morning

Hope the babies get their sleeping patterns sorted soon. It's frustrating when they don't sleep how you want them to :o

Struggling with insomnia this week and feel wrecked. Got loads of work to get through, so it's been a tough week.

Have a good day all xx
Here I go again on my own....

I would suggest the hot water bottle too, we did this to begin and really helped. She used to wake the second you put her in basket.

Poppy didn't really get affected by the jabs either just got very upset when it happened. She did sleep a lot better in the night after each set though!

I have also heard you could try putting a top of yours in the moses basket so that he can smell you?? We thankfully don't have much problem getting LO down in his bed (at night naps are a different matter) so never tried it but could be worth a shot?

Some jabs (like the early ones) I found didn't do anything bar make them sleep... The MMR is the one that makes them feel ill.

I have much sympathy with that, they gave me an MMR booster after I had Squeak and I felt rubbish for days. I've been told that that didn't do anything to me so I need another one. Don't see the logic there, am considering saying no since I don't want to feel pants again for something that makes no difference to me anyway!

Re: Smoking, I think the guidelines on that have changed and it's meant to be either 30 minutes or an hour and hand washing after a cigarette before touching a baby.... if those are being followed then it's unlikely the smoking is making the baby sick. I'm afraid you'll just have to bite the bullet and tackle the relative in question about the smoking.

Doglover the tip about the hot water bottle is a good one, and waiting 6 minutes after LO falls asleep before putting them down so they are in the deeper stage of sleep and less likely to stir being put down.

At the end of the day, they are only little once, and before you know it you'll be having to chase LO around to get a cuddle so make the most of it now whilst they're all tiny and lovely and not covered in sticky stuff of questionable origin ;)

We just reserved Squeak's car seat, got cashback with quidco, collecting from store and saving £30 on the instore price :T

That's after sorting out the new buggy and 2 cot bed mattresses yesterday, (with quidco again ;)) and OH is going to collect Squeak's new bedroom furniture from ebay on Sunday... the bank balance has really taken a hammering the last few days
