Thanks for the tips Becles. I must dig out my gloves as I was just thinking when I walked out of the house to drop Joe off to his CM this morning that it's getting to be glove weather.

Poor you having Raynauds. My problem isn't as bad as that but it's annoying and uncomfortable enough, so it must be awful for you.

I've been trying to convince DH that we should get Just Dance so I'll have to see if telling him it's for medicinal purposes will work ;)

Thanks all.. I feel bad enough that OH isnt working.. and we have to claim other stuff I feel like I am taking advantage claiming further payments for these 2.. :( .. Ill speak to the nurse about it again..

My mother has Reynauds.. she wears her gloves in the house sometimes.. her fingers go white in seconds of being outside in winter and are black a few minutes later.. it is awful.. she wears the leather totes microfleece lined gloves an has several pairs on the go at once. I have got her some more of the handwarmer gel things for christmas.. black with flames on.. she has a couple she uses now so i thought an extra set or 2 would be good when out for a while or when her others go cold. :D

Ah.. beasts home need to go do some child prodding..

Hey I have a labour hospital bag question, if you would be kind enough to answer, is there anything you couldnt live without or anything you wish you'd packed and didnt when you were in the hospital, or are there things that are pointless that I shouldn't take, would really appreciate your input as my bag is a little on the over full side!

I didnt take any snacks or changes of clothes for OH.. if he wanted stuff he nipped to the canteen or went without.. staff povided tea and toast anyway if nagged.

I didnt take towels for the baby.. 1 sheet, 2 blankets, 2 muslins, 2 cardies/vests/sleepsuits, 1 hat and a pack of wipes.. meconium and water doesnt work.

for me.. pads, pants.. unless you are leaking before the birth you wont need breastpads (plus you get a couple in bounty pack) it takes 3-5 days for your milk to start coming in. 2 towels, toiletries, 1 bra, 2 nighties, 1 long cardy and a pair of socks.

I also took a pen and a puzzle book.. and a bottle of juice.

pigpen why did you take a sheet and blankets? im just curious because its been a few years since my last and we always used hospital sheets and blankets.

i never took any snacks for OH either, i think he got a brew because i was in the shower when they brought it in so he ate my toast aswel. (could have killed him for that)

I took loads of breastpads and as i had a c section my milk didnt come in till about 5 days so they weren't needed. I would agree baby towel isn't needed, I didn't give baby a bath until her cord came off.

As i had an emergency c section i sent OH to get more stuff ,especially as she was a lot smaller than i thought she would be so the 0-3 month stuff i took was too big and he had to bring more newborn stuff in.

I can't think of anything that i took that i didn't really use but i was there for four days! I only took one change of clothes and i slobbed round in my nighty till i went home. Flip flops were good to wander round the hospital in and to have a shower in as the floor was a bit yuck.

    Thanks wendz,

Just posted this on the pregnancy thread too

Ok have repacked my case, although I seem to have packed way more than I had!!!! Which wasnt the intention. In my case I already had:

    2 packs of maternity pads
1 pack of size 1 nappies
    mini pot of sudocreme
    small back of water wipes
    3 bibs
    2 burping clothes
    2 nighties
    1 button down vest top
    1 bikini top
    make up
    toiletries
    breast pads
    slippers
    fan
    trackies
    big t-shirt
    deodorant for OH
    T-shirt for OH
    blanket
    towel
    towel for baby
    earplugs
    lipbalm

Things I have added, another towel for me, another nightie, my dressing gown, and here is where it gets silly 3 tiny baby vests, 3 sleepsuits, 1 hat and scratch mits and one tiny cardi, along with 4 newborn vests, 4 sleepsuits 2 hats and scratch mits and a cardi...... and 3 big newborn vests, 3 sleepsuits, 1 hat and scratch mits and a cardi. My case is so so full that I had to sit on it to close it..... not sure I need the big newborn stuff, but I'm worried baby is going to be huge, or that I might be early and it might be tiny!!!! Have actually had to sit on my suitcase to close it, it's not good is it, think I might need to rethink it again.....
