My Squeak is having to realise that if she is going to fidget and throw herself around my bed in the middle of the night and bash me in the process she is going to have to sleep in her bed...
She woke up about 20 minutes after I put her back and started wailing and shouting for her dad, so I'm guessing she knew it was me who put her back lol
We have an inset day today and the older 3 are driving me nuts at the moment.
We did a lot of the Christmas stuff with the 3 for 2 on all toys at Argos a couple of weeks ago, we got DSD 3 huge lego city sets for £80 as opposed to £120 so I'm not knocking it. We still have the adults to buy for but the Boots 3 for 2 is on and they just sent me a whole load of extra points vouchers which is great
had to go online and order a new advantage card though as mine is missing but can't do the christmas stuff till the end of the month anyway.
It's handy cos I got a few vouchers for £8/£4.50 worth of points so I can use some for Christmas and some for the inevitable baby stuff.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Morning
It must be cold - DS wore his jumper and his coat to school and its normally a battle to get him to wear one or the other.
Glad james is getting better x
Little angel I remember when Bob was that age and the constant pacing with him all the time, if he was awake and not feeding he was not happy. The only thing that got me through the early days was knowing it gets better xx I hope you manage to get some rest today x0 -
Morning all. On my day off so just slobbing around the house. Does anyone else plan all week what they are going to do on their day off and then just not have the energy when it comes round?JadeOrchid wrote: »CL- Tigger is about 10.5 months, crawls and has just learnt how to pull himself up yesterday in his cot but not yet on anything else. Doesn't babble (at all - should I worry?), squeals a bit - that's about it.
Jade, he sounds just like my LO who is about 10.5 months, but she babbles. It's probably to be expected as I was called chatterbox by my primary school teachers! I think as BigBird (I think) said, babies have different personalities, just like adults. My BIL didn't walk until he was 20 months and he is very laid back (but has a PhD, so isn't daft).Puzzledbubbles wrote: »CL, hope LO is less hungry now, do you think it was a growth spurt?
I think she must be going through a growth spurt as she was wanting fed constantly and isn't usually like that. She refused lunch in the creche yesterday, so it must be coming to an end. I haven't had her weighed or measured since she was 7 months, and I'd like to get it done, but the baby clinic is only on when both me and DH are working.little_angel wrote: »i'm exhausted
and frustrated that the only way i can get her to settle is to feed her and right now that's not working. annoyingly the husband has got her to calm down, i'm assuming that's because he doesn't smell of milk.
any one offer any advice?!
My LO was also BF and she slept much longer when she was in bed beside me. I suppose the warmth and smell of their Mummy relaxes them. Apart from that I found there just were feeding frenzy days sometimes. Sorry!
For LO's birthday I have one present and will get a cake and have her 3 cousins who live just beside us over for a piece and that's it. She's too small to even know it's her birthday, so I'm not going to any bother. When she is a bit older I'll do parties.
I have a Little Tykes Cozy Coupe stashed away for her Christmas present from Santa. She might be a bit small for it. Other than that, I know family will buy so many presents and I really don't want to spoil her, so a few bits of clothes will do for Christmas. I was on SMP for 9 months, so want to start overpaying the mortgage now I'm back to work and I'm not spending a fortune this Christmas (I might be on SMP next Christmas!)0 -
My friend's DD is three and only just started really talking - she's as bright as a button though so don't worry yourself too much about what they 'should' be doing.
Actually her DS is very sweet... I came home the other day to find some change in an envelope addressed to 'Sqweek' with his name on it so he has obviously been thinking about her. And this is a child who has ADHD among other things and can be an absolute nightmare at school - show him a baby and he melts, he's wonderful with Squeak
he really is a lovely little boy. It's sad really because he misses out on things sometimes because school just can't handle him and he needs more specialised help really.
We haven't got Squeak a Christmas present yet but she has so many toys... and there's baby stuff from the twins in the loft... we have barely any room as it is.
I actually rang my landlord the other day to ask if he was buying any more houses because I'd seen one I liked the look of, and told him if he bought that one I'd rent it forever lol He didn't bite but said he is keeping us in mind even though he doesn't usually do larger properties if he does see something because he knows that we are getting very squished in here. I felt a bit cheeky and I said so but he did say if you don't ask you don't get
Shame he didn't bite though, it was a bargain, went on the market a year ago at 250k, now at 184k, and those are really solid houses (ex council) and it's down the road from my mum and the kids would get free school transport from there. I know this house is worth almost the same and I could find another tenant for this house by the end of the week lol.
I should really go and do the washing up whilst Squeak is in bed but I really just don't want to
Squeak is meant to have her MMR at 1pm but I didn't know it was a staff training day so I'm going to have to rearrange it I think.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

i'm mum to lily, who is 2 and a half weeks old and i'm in need of some help!!!!
lily is being very fussy, i've been up since 2am feeding her, she's slept a bit in that time but not much. after an hours break i started feeding her again at half 6, about 45 mins ago she started pulling on and off the nipple after just a few mins. i've changed sides and she's doing the same each side. as it's not what she wants she's now got frustrated so is screaming!
i've now given her to my husband as i'm tired and need a break as nothing i do can soothe her
what can i do? i need sleep! wed night she had me up from 12.30 feeding. she'd fall asleep on the b00b, but when i try to put her in her crib she only stays asleep for about 30 mins before wanting to feed again! this went on most of yesterday, settling for no more than hour - she normally settles for about 2 hours - and that was only once. the only time she settled or longer was when my husband was wearing her in the sling.
i'm exhausted
and frustrated that the only way i can get her to settle is to feed her and right now that's not working. annoyingly the husband has got her to calm down, i'm assuming that's because he doesn't smell of milk.

Does she settle if you take her out in the pushchair/sling/car?
Are her poops yellow and seedy and soft ? (green or smelly/foamy or watery may be a sign of intolerance or not getting enough of the later richer milk or an upset tum)
She may have tummy ache or trapped wind.. infacol????
She could just be leading you a dance.. try putting her off feeding a bit longer let her have a dummy or your finer to suck or rock her for an extra 15 minutes before feeding her.. she may feed better. The on-off thing sounds like she just wants to suck which is natural for comfort but isnt actually hungry.

Hi everyone,
LO had his jabs the other day and since has been a bit sick after feeds which is unusual, but must be something to do with the jabs. He is fine otherwise.
Little Angel I had that with my LO who is now 3 months. When he did that going on then pulling off and screaming, i would pace around with him as trying to put him on again would frustrate him even more. I think it was either wind, or, the fact he was actually tired and grumpy. Or just a growth spurt... but it happened every day around the same time so more likely to be wind etc.
Puzzled / CL & anyone else I forgot thanks for your advice re: chatting to LO/keeping him entertained. I do go round talking to him, describing what I see etc, plus he loves going shopping presumably because of all the colours and new things to see. Interesting about them retaining the information, I had best start chatting about more grown up things than 'look at the cat then he he...

thanks pp.
poops are nice and yellow. when she's like that the only thing that we know of that comforts her are certain tracks by mumford and sons  she won't except a dummy, or not the one we've got anyway, but fingers work unless she's really worked up. don't think it's wind as she arches her back when she's windy and she wasn't doing that.
i'm wondering if it could be a growth spurt as she's still feeding, she's not doing the screaming thing now though.
i only managed to get dressed a couple of hours ago as everytime i move to put her down she wakes and wants to feed again! they dont tell you this in the baby books!0 -

That sounds like me. I was going to do all sorts today but I was bad with IBS during the night so I didn't get as much as I was planning to done.
Managed to give the bathroom a good clean this morning though, and took James and Charlotte to the park this afternoon as she had far too much energy
I had a go on the slide
Here I go again on my own....0 -
Hi! You lot have totally shamed me, I haven't bought a single thing for Christmas yet.
Beccles - hope you enjoyed your go on the slide!!?? I hope you have a better night.
Little angel - good to see you here. Sorry your LO is hard going. There seems to be a trend at the moment!0 -
Morning
I haven't bought much for Christmas yet either. I did two mystery shops recently and got a board game on one and some boxed chocs on the other which will go away for presents, and I've bought my Mam's birthday present (it's a few days before Christmas). Need to buy for Josh's birthday at the end of November too.
Tummy still iffy here, but slept better. I watched a film last night then just about crawled into bed as I was so exhausted. I still feel tired this morning but will still take the bairns out as planned. We're going to sunny South Shields.
It's Jack's birthday and he's 2 today.
Hope everyone has a good day xxHere I go again on my own....0
