evening x
Jade it probably is the teething if his results are normal. Bob had some runny nappies when he got his teeth probably went on for about a week then on and off.
Now know Bob was off his milk the other day because he has a cold so was probably struggling to breath a little bit. I've got it too - he likes to share.
I first took Bob to baby group when he was about 16 weeks and he still slept through most of it. Before that I just took him out for walks. The baby groups you get now and loads better than when my other 2 were younger, there was hardly any and they were more toddler groups and were rubbish. The surestart centres really are fantastic, gonna book the sensory room for Bob sometime next week, been once before with some other babies and they all loved it.0 -
the Surestart groups here are awful... the odd one decent one is booked up months and months in advance so noone new can ever get a look in and the rest are full of 12 year old parents and chavtastic! When they first opened the surestarts the council withdrew funding from the independant groups so there are hardly any of those now either.
and the other issue with surestart groups is those who have more than 1 preschooler are excluded from most of the grous because you can only take children/babies of a specific age.. eg.. under 1s groups you cant take your 2.5 year old... so what do you do with them? I understand the reasons for groups like baby massage but there should be provision for other children on site.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Evening
Welcome new mummies, hope going ok can be very hard and tiring at first but you'll get there!
Congrats PP, hope things going ok.
I would have had gone mad without our surestart centre, lovely groups and can just turn up - so lucky about 5 within a mile.
Re naps, the way I see it if you are happy with the situation now and they are sleeping somewhere safe, why worry?? There are things you can do to move them but I would enjoy them sleeping on you/feeding them. Only in last few months has he slept in cot for long naps so it does come, but previously he would only sleep longer in his pushchair/rocking chair/car seat/if I slept with him. I used to worry about it but wish now had gone more with the flow.
I am now back at work and t is in nursery. They are lovely there but he is finding it hard and not napping great but I get reports that is having 'large' portions of everything lol!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Squeak has just screamed for the best part of 2 hours... she is now calpold, anbesold and ibuprofened... having done the anbesol it feels like she has all 14 remaining teeth coming through a once.. the molars feel massive under her gums which are really hot.. she is a very unhappy little bunny today

Hopefully they will all be through tomorrow!
She has been walking loads today.. not enough to say "she is walking" but enough to say she will be in a few days I think... I want to take her to OHs mums this weekend and just put her down and her walk in without telling them she can... but that is unlikely.
Dot has been massively sick again.. all on the bedding in the crib and her hair and when I picked her out f the sick her nappy had leaked so she was wet and poopy up to the back of her neck.. she is now washed and changed and in a clean basket..
We are having a good day can you tell lol.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
ah pigpen our surestart is way better than that, people bring their older toddlers to the baby group and they split the room in 2 so the bigger ones stay on one side whilst the babies stay the other and inbetween babies go wherever they crawl lol Ours even says if you have older children you can bring them during school hols to any groups that arent term time only so long as you have a child in the age of the group. Also we have a real range of ages, some first time mums and some with older children too. I find people really watch their kids at them too whereas the old style groups people would let their crazy kids grab push do whatever they liked so long as they got a sit down and a coffee. This is the one closest to my house which is walking distance. I've visited others locally and found them to be similar but not so understanding of the older siblings so I guess I'm lucky with my local one.0

Morning
Busy day yesterday. James came in from school with a swollen and bruised ankle and I wasn't sure about it so we went to hospital. Sat for hours before they x-rayed it and said it wasn't broken and it's just badly bruised and swollen. He's off school for two days to rest it now.
Busy day ahead as I've got work to finish from yesterday plus all of todays calls to do - madness!
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
PP, was it you saying you'd taught Squeak how to get back downstairs? How did you do that? Joe's getting very good (and quick ) at getting up the stairs, so we'd better work on getting back down again safely.
Does anyone have a contraceptive coil fitted? How was it? I'm having one put in this afternoon. Not really looking forward to it, but we don't have many other options since I can't take the pill or have injections/implants. A couple of friends had them and had them taken out again within a few weeks as they had loads of discomfort, but neither of them have children so I'm hoping maybe it's easier if you have?
I think we have more teeth coming through here too as Joe has been Mr Grumpy Pants for the last couple of days. Yesterday was the first time we've had tears when I dropped him off at the childminder's
She normally takes them to messy play on a Wednesday but she didn't think he'd enjoy it so took him and the little girl she looks after to a park instead. The little girl was feeding the ducks and Joe apparently found this hilarious
It's good to know she's happy to change her normal routine to accommodate a child who's maybe not feeling up to the usual activities. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Bigbird.. When they sit at the top yelling to come back down (she shouts dada! dada! NOW!!!!!!!!!) I move them in the positions they need to be in.. lift one leg down a step then the other one. they come down in the mode they went up in..not bum shuffling down.. that tends to tip them on their head! It is just crawling backwards.. I talk them through what we are doing.. this leg down here so we can ,move this leg and go weeeeee to the next step.. can you move your hands down? .. it took about 5 attempts at coming down before Squeak got what she was doing.. and it is definitely safer to know they can come down rather than they come down to the eastenders theme tune! That said she still shouts for OH to come get her just so she can crawl off squealing in delight that he chases her lol.
She is happier this morning.. scoffed 3 bowls of cereal which is always a good sign.
Dot sicked in my bed again.. more sheets in the wash! I think she may be a sicky dot rather like OH was as a baby..
I dont want a sicky baby they smell
(or that could just be my over sensitive snout for such things)
I have a sore throat this morning and a sore ear
I seem to have most of the christmas presents decided on and have 3 main presents to buy then can start on the cheapy stocking fillers... quite pleased with my progress so far this year
. end of October is my deadline for buying anything that costs more than £15 lol... November I have a lush order to do and a Boots order and the wrapping and December I intend to do nothing but food shopping! I might even fit in writing cards this year!! I didnt get that far last year as it was manic! Poor James with his ankle sounds painful!
Bigbird - hope those teeth appear soon, that is good of the childminder to change plans.
Poor little dot with the being sick.
I have all Poppys main pressies just going to get her some clothes. Need to get organised with everyone else. Done a list of people and is massive why does OH have such a big family!0 -
wahhh why are you lot talking Christmas already? Gosh, you're all so organised.:T
I'm still in a tizz about Tigger's 1st birthday in November.
We have lots of family on both sides and since like June we've been asked what we are doing for his 1st, OH and I haven't a clue yet. We don't do baby groups so haven't got lots of 1 yr olds to invite or anything. Just lots of adults with a few kids ranging from about 3-7 yrs who want to celebrate with Tigger. We'll prob do something the weekend before rather than on the actual weekday.
Can I ask the Anbesol users, is it really that much better and is it the gel or liquid we go for? We normally use calgel and either granules or powder, however when Tigger wakes up at night moaning, I can't get granules/powder in his mouth by then as he's super grumpy. Calgel lasts about a minute. It's very hard trying to spread it properly in the middle of the night whilst avoiding getting your finger bitten off by an sleepy-angry-tired-inpain little person.0
