Thanks everyone just a quick hi whilst lo is napping, I'm happier today, LO made me smile even at 3am - he was so calm and contented, then started to make little stretches like it was waking up time and I was going noooooo, nooo wrong time... He went from 7pm to 3am so I got some good sleep then. At 5 he woke and then hubby got him up at 6:30 and there were tears as he was hungry so I got up but feel refreshed to some extent.
In terms of quantities for BF I am only worried about the expressed milk, because he only takes a little from OH and sicks up a bit of it. I may try the playtex teats which are made from something different and feel more like the nipple apparently. I need to feel sure that he will take a reasonable amount from OH before I am confident enough to go to lunch with friends or into town for shopping if you see what I mean.
Jennynoo maybe you can give me more suggestions once you have done some more at the support groups!
Also I see in your sig you are an attachment parent - can you give me a run down of the general things you believe in as I am interested in this movement?
Hi, sorry I haven't been on for a few days, I'm pregnant again () and really suffering with all day sickness and tiredness.
I think the first time I went out without Erin was when she was 2months old! I just gave her a feed before I went and didn't go far so I could rush back if she needed me - she didn't lol.
Attachment parenting is all about breastfeeding, using slings and co- sleeping. The theory is that providing lots of security when they are little will help them be more confident later on and scientifically lots of benefits to this style of parenting have been proven. The main book I refer to is dr sears birth to two years book which is expensive but really good and covers everything. I also use the science of parenting website which isnt attachment specific but supports much of it. Please let me know if you want to know anything specific.

Sparkle, we use terries and manage thru the night, we have Motherease wraps which are darn good. Terries dry so quickly and are as cheap as chips.
MV, sorry to hear things aren't so great with you. Motherhood is exceedingly tiring and often I feel I'm running on empty, but if you feel its something more do get yourself along to the dr.
Are there any BLWers on here today? The HV asked whether she was getting enough protein this morning and to be honest she gets none. She is a fruit, yoghurt and cereal monster but anything else you think I was giving her poison. Is protein really that important in an 8 month old?
I did BLW, Erin hardly eat anything for the first few months but I wasn't worried as I was still breastfeeding her so I knew she was still getting everything she needed. It's paid off as she is a really good eater now.

Sounds great Vroom! I have a feeling i will get carried away too. How much does Ethan weigh? I think Poppy will only just be into 6-9 month clothing although she will be 8 months so will be getting her some clothes that size too.
Hope the sickness doesn't last too long jennynoo.0 -

Morning all, trying to catch up as we had a family holiday at Butlins which was fun but tiring.
Congrats Jenny.
A couple of things wanted to add we do BLW and took us a while to find protein that t liked I found he would eat chicken if it was the softer meat on the thigh/leg meat and from the already cooked bits. You could also try scrambled egg/cheese or fish (t loves fish fingers, just be careful re the salt). I would try different things to see what she likes and also at different times t will happily have eggs in morning but not for tea.
Re naps t started cutting back on naps at 4ish weeks probably became over tired and then difficult to settle and for a long time did not nap in his cot tbh only at around 1 he napped better and longer in his cot. I would recommend the no cry nap solution as that helped me with his naps.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Jennynoo congrats, at least you have some experience so you should be a-ok for the new bundle when it arrives!
We are doing a mix I suppose - attachment in terms of trying not to let him cry too long and also using the Baby Bjorn quite a bit, but not co-sleeping as hubby has to wake so early, LO took to the nursery early on and is a good sleeper, we would prob wake him up with talking etc - he sleeps 7pm-3am at the mo, then another feed around 6:45 so things are coming along. I definately don't agree with my mum's 'oh babies need to cry' and 'give him water instead of a feed' sort of thing. I can't stand to hear him cry a long time but then i also don't want him to just rely on being rocked to sleep, or get used to having to go in the pram or the car to fall asleep, it's so hard to know what to do.
Sir Monster what's the basics of the no cry nap solution, as LO refuses to nap on his own and gets really overtired?
Make It 3 I have terry nappies and also Motherease wraps - I haven't used them at night as worried it wouldn't be absorbent enough, LO doesn't seem to poo at night only wee, but I know that in the day the terries get soaking if he does 2 wees, ah what to do... I guess I will have to try. I also have a bamboo pocket that came with bamboo insert so will give that a go soon if terries don't work.
