delain fingers crossed you find somewhere soon x Our old landlady started looking for a 3 bed house because she knew we were looking and she found somewhere just as we gave in our notice typically but it wouldnt have been ready for a while anyway and it was not the area we are in now so I'm glad we just went for it in the end.

I cant decide if its worth putting in a housing benefit claim, according to entitled to we could get £40 per week towards our rent on our current wages but OH is so up and down being on the agency. Tax credits are a pain in the bum enough without adding more complications, having to write to them every 5 mins when he changes agency. We've had to estimate his income for that this year - I hope I havent underestimated but think he has done more hours lately but then he has nothing for sat and has to have 3 days off next week.

Claire if Bob was awake at that age and not feeding he was grumpy, I couldnt even sit on the sofa with him I had to walk around the house with him and when the weather improved we would take it in turns walking him round the garden - he also hates going out in the pushchair, he just gets bored and isnt interested in seeing the world. They do grow out of it and go longer between feeds as they get bigger too. The only thing that kept me sane was knowing it didnt last - they grow fast.

Sparkle, we use terries and manage thru the night, we have Motherease wraps which are darn good. Terries dry so quickly and are as cheap as chips.

MV, sorry to hear things aren't so great with you. Motherhood is exceedingly tiring and often I feel I'm running on empty, but if you feel its something more do get yourself along to the dr.

Are there any BLWers on here today? The HV asked whether she was getting enough protein this morning and to be honest she gets none. She is a fruit, yoghurt and cereal monster but anything else you think I was giving her poison. Is protein really that important in an 8 month old?

  • Hi, I am a bit of a lurker here, have a 2 year old and am due with bump in 2 weeks eek! Just wanted a bit of advice really from you knowledgeable lot! :D

I have read on here that you can use vinegar and lemon juice to descale a steriliser and I am just after a bit of advice on how exactly to do it?

Do I put both vinegar and lemon juice in the bottom with water and them switch it on for a cycle? Or do I let it soak with boiling water?

And how can I use this method in my kettle too?

    Any advice would be great!

    Thanks
    Jen

dont know jen I've always just used the citric acid sachets, they are not expensive. I use filtered water for the kettle otherwise it needs replacing every 6 months even if I descale weekly.

    Ahh what you getting him?

I went to Sainsburys this morning and bought 4 packs of nappies and wipes and 2 packs nappy bags. All a 1/3 off, opefully will last a few weeks anyway!
  • Could be worth asking on the Old Style forum - this type of thing is right up their street. But we descaled our kettle with some descaling tablets we bought from the supermarket - they were super cheap.

Oh god - should I be regularly descaling the kettle now?? I only did it once just after LO was born?

I think I am going to try and make an appointment to see my GP next week. Keep thinking though that I am just over tired and worrying about stuff and I don't need to see anyone.

Definitely go and get checked out. It's a free service, so you might as well use it! Hope you feel better soon xx

It depends on your water. We live in a very soft water area, so I never get limescale on anything.

My grandparents lived in a hard water area and the kettle was always full of limescale and they had a navy blue bathroom suite that always had limescale marks on it.

Wendz, I've bought him a few outfits (6-9months), my mam is getting him this fancy all singing all dancing walker. I've also got him a few Vtech and Fisher Price musical toys x I want to get a smart trike as well but that'll obviously get used over the summer.

He's going to Spain for his first birthday:eek:

They go to my parents house.

I put them in kennels when we all went to Centre Parcs for my Mam's 60th but I don't think they enjoyed it as they were really clingy when I got them back :o
