Hi all. Just wanted to ask a quick question about jars of baby food. Are there any that your babies particularly like? We are taking our 9 month old to Spain in 2 weeks and we have never bought jars of baby food, but want to take some with us. I don't want to be bringing stuff that she will refuse to eat, so if there are any that your LOs love, can you tell me?0

CL not sre if it will be any use to you at all but the Spanish jar and packet baby food branded I think Hero and Plop went down a storm with our youngest son at the same age which was strange as he would not eat any of the British stuff we tried him with before we left home! I was really worried that I would be able to feed him ok while we were on holiday so had planned on using most of his baggage allowance for taking the jarred stuff but in the end only had a few packs of the Heinz Ginger biscotti in my hand luggage as that was the only pre packed thing that he would eat. He ate a lot more bread products and soups and yoghurts and strangely enough mashed potato than he normally would have at home but on the most part restaurants were very accommodating when it came to making small portions of the adult meals child friendly so you may not need to take anything with you except food for the airport and flight.0

Morning everyone. DH took over at 5am and I got 4 hours sleep so I'm not too bad today. LO seems a little grizzly this morn but I think he needs to sleep again. It was certainly a better night though :-).
We had a play earlier so that's good.
Beccles yes I have a dog and I'm enjoying the time out with him bur DH is taking him more because he's always been more of DH's dog as we planned it that way for when we had the baby. Our dog was our baby last year! DH is being good though and giving me chances to get time to myself.
I hope a you mums with school age kids get a chance to enjoy the last day or so of the hold. Mixed feelings I suspect!0 -
Hi all - I'm a new graduate from the pregnancy forum too
Leo was born on 26th August via emergency C Section. It was all a bit of a traumatic experience but since we've been home I think we are settling into things quite well.
I am totally dreading hubby going back to work next week but I have decided to set myself a goal of getting out even for a short walk each day just to get some fresh air and normality.
Leo seems pretty good for us at the moment - he sleeps A LOT and when he's not sleeping he mainly wants to eat. Breastfeeding hasn't worked out so well so I am expressing what I can and topping up with formula - I'm OK with this.
He wakes every 3 hours in the night which, although tiring, we were expecting worse.
I'm sure I'll have tons of questions over the next few weeks/months...Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -
That's good to hear Koala. Thanks!
Welcome Clarieloo!0 -
Hi and welcome Claireloo! Glad things are going ok for you so far!
I took Poppy swimming yesterday for third time and think she is starting to enjoy it more, she was smiling and squealing.
We also had a look round a nursery for when I go back to work and we thought it looked pretty good. Haven't seen any others so might have to look at others to compare.0 -
Hi Claireloo glad everything is going well for you .
Wendz do you have somebody whose opinion you trust that can go with you to look at nurseries for when you have narrowed it down to the final few? I found that an ext a pair of eyes looking at it from a slightly different perspective who asked different questions that I hadn't thought of really helped me to pick the right place for both of my boys.0 -
Unfortunately i don't really know anyone round here and family live quite far although bumped into one of the mums from my babies groups that her two older ones went to the nursery so might chat to her if get chance.
Is quite tricky as i need to be able to walk to nursery as oh often has car and i get train to work so not much choice.
We are thinking of looking at childminders too but not sure how to go about that.0 -
Morning all, just a quick post as should be working really. Hello to all the newer mums/ members
PP hope DD feels better soon and you can get medicine sorted.
Regarding discussion on sweets - my two dont really get them at all except for a treat which is probably why we still have 2 Easter eggs left (they had 5 each)... does that make me a bad mum taht its September and we have them left?
We still have the sweets from halloween 2009 :eek: But they are the ones that disagree with the twins!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hi new mummies, impressed you are on here I spent first few weeks asleep when he was.
Wendz re childminders I got e-mailed a list of ones in my area that had vacancies from the family information service at the council, maybe worth going onto council website?
CL Don't do jars but could you not just give lo real food as Spain prob great for little dishes of tapas? Could take some organix rice cakes as a back up, t loves those.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
