Hello - I'm back! We had a fabulous time
Cala Santandria is a gorgeous little secret. It's a tiny resort with a beautiful beach and just a few Spanish restaurants and bars around it. There's no British pubs, no English food, no birdy song/YMCA etc., being blasted out and no "Brits abroad"! Just peace and quiet with beautiful surroundings and mainly Spanish people quietly enjoying their holidays. I loved it!
Hotel was lovely and the food was all freshly prepared and mainly local dishes. We ate well and really enjoyed our meals. Pool was nice and they had a small play park so Charlotte flitted between the two with other little ones while the parents supervised from sunloungers. She was playing with Spanish children and they were chattering away to each other even though they had no idea what each other was saying, which was fascinating to watch. Boys went off with some other teens and made new friends.
Had a couple of trips out into Ciutadella which is a nice town to wander round, and we had a look in the Cathedral and at the harbour with it's posh yachts. Had a trip to a water park in another resort another day which the children enjoyed. Rest of the time, we just chilled out around the hotel or beach.
Loved the chance to rest and lay in the sunshine and feel relaxed and less stressed now.
Hope everyone is well and *hugs* to anyone who needs them. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Glad you had a good holiday Becles, the place sounds lovely
The older three girls are out today, I've got loads to go out and do and typically it's just started pouring down!
Had a much better night with Squeak last night, although I had a disturbed night's sleep, serves me right for drinking coffee right before bed lol.
Now I just need to find out when the girls are going out... and getting such information out of the dragon is somewhat difficult, since she seems to think we should be sitting in all day waiting to for her grace us with her prescence. Bet she turns up the minute Squeak goes to sleep so I'm sat here twiddling my thumbs for two hours before we can go out.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Aaah Becles I see you are talking about my favourite place in the whole world. I worked on the island for two summers, have been back a few times and we're going in two weeks in fact. I've toyed with the idea of buying a little apartment on the island for a few years as well.....
Did you go to Pedros?:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
Squeak drinks a lot of water now too.
Do you warm his milk up or leave it cold? Squeak seems to associate warm milk with bedtime, though she will drink cold milk too.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Yeah, it was the same thing. He'll have 1oz, max 2 from his cup about 3 times a day but then makes it very clear he doesn't want any more. He takes most in his highchair with a snack or towards the end of a meal so I try to do that. He drinks a lot of water so I'm not sure if that helps or hinders.
Rach my DD was the same, she just wasn't interested in milk and even now at 4 she doesn't drink a lot of it, I used to worry about it but as long as she is getting her calcium from other souces there was no point getting stressed. I even try to get her to drink milkshakes or hot chocolate made with milk, but she is just not interested. Water is her favourite and she will have that above any other drink.
Becles glad you had a good holiday it sounds like heaven!
My little man is 15 weeks today, can't believe it!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Holiday sounds fab and really relaxing Becles. So sweet that Charlotte was playing with the spanish children.
I didn't like milk as a child (still don't) and my mum had to do a milk chart for me when i got a star when i drank milk.0 -
