Teenie.. my daughters dysplasia was picked up when she was 2.5.. despite me taking her back and forth to the drs since she was just a few weeks old.. I was livid! It was too late for them to do anything with her and she still at 17 has pain in it.
No one would listen to my mum at the GP either but luckily she was on maternity leave from being sister in charge of casualty and running the orthopaedic clinic so she went in and asked the doctors she worked with to check it out. In fact I think she went and refused to leave til they did something :rotfl::T I had L scanned when he was about 8 weeks and he was fine (my gran and her grandad had it too so I was concerned!)

OH unexpectedly had the day off today, I know i moaned about him having to work late all week but i think I would have had a much less stressful day and got more done if he'd gone to work!
I often feel like this! Me and DH seemed to spend all day niggling with each other. we were at his parents as his sister & hubby and 2 kids and other brother and wife are visiting. I get annoyed as everything ends up fitting around SiL's kids no one ever asks what would suit L...for instance MiL was asking SiL 'will tea at 5.30 be good for the kids?' so I piped up that it was when L normally has tea so would suit us ;) and we first got there at 11am which was when we'd been told to go up as we were all going for a picnic. We ended up not going out til 1pm. I was livid as no one thought to communicate this to me and L was getting more and more tired as he'd not slept when I put him down for his morning nap and I'd kept thinking he'd sleep in the car but if they'd bothered to tell me we were not going out for ages I'd have put him in the travel cot there or asked fil to take him for a walk.

    anyway rant over :rotfl:

  • My little guy has started smiling. :D Its a proper little open mouth smiled and then goes to one side sooo cute! Husband was saying yeahh its just wind but it definitely isnt :D
He stayed at my mums last night and she said he has been smiling at her and my dad too.
I have bought him one of those swings you sit them in and it goes. Its got a voice recognition thing on it so if he makes a noise it starts swinging, how cool!

Aww how lovely for the smile Supermaiden, is so nice when they start to do that.

Poppy was rolling all over the place a couple of days ago and now isn't rolling at all, not sure if she has forgotten how??

On the subject of nurserys and childminders I am not sure what to do. I am worried she would become too attached to a childminder but also am not sure about nurserys. I need to have very local childcare as i will need to walk to take her and pick her up.

    keely.

http://babyclub.asda.com/ you could sign to the baby club for emails about events. I've browsed the internet and found that it's due to start 22nd of this month but there is some confusion and suggestions that customer services are just plucking out of thin air.

The baby events are normally around 3 months apart I think so I think we're due one very shortly. hTH

Thanks guys :) No he didn't get the beds, they didn't make any contact until later (via ebay, in spite of having the number they didn't bother to phone/text) to say could we go back Sunday. OH didn't go because we were busy with family yesterday, and he got caught in the Holiday (London to South West) traffic on the way home and took almost 4 hours to get home!

We'll just have to keep an eye out for more. The ones we have arent collapsing or anything but they are metal and have a godawful squeaky raspy noise problem. You can tell in the lounge if one of them sits on it!

Supermaiden, first smiles are great :)

I miss Becles' posts. Hope she is having a good holiday!

We are going to try and brave the uniform shop today, but not before I've rung them and checked they have what we need in the sizes we need it. I'm not trekking all the way into town with four children for nothing. And it's not even my town, it's 2 buses away.

Poor Squeak is cutting two huge teeth :( it's getting to her a bit I think.

Ah well. Best go and do breakfast I suppose, the older 3 are still upstairs for some reason although I can hear them moving about. I'm not complaining though!

    morning all

I miss becles's posts too delain. Hope you have success with the uniform stuff.

we've had a busy weekend with dh's family. was all nice though i realise perhaps dh and i are seen as the hippy liberal parents :rotfl:

I've put L down early for a nap as we have his music thing at 10, he's currently chatting and grunting though so i'm not convinced he'll go! we're then going to canary wharf to meet one of my work colleagues for lunch.

Well I rang them and they said they've got loads in those sizes, so we'll pop over there later after the Squeak monster has had her sleep.

Don't know what else to do though, trying to think of something else to do whilst we're out.

My family think I'm a horrible parent (or more to the point that OH is) and that we only care about the baby. Nice, aren't they :o

Good luck with the uniform Delain. That is so annoying about the beds, your poor OH having to be stuck in the holiday traffic.

Glad you had a good weekend too Rach.

    I miss Becles posts too!

We are off to new baby cafe today. Is nice weather too so will prob have to go on a walk at some point.
