Hey RBG great to "see" you
Can't believe your wee man is 21 weeks already:eek: doesn't seem that long ago when we were all grumbling about being pregnant

Hello to all the new faces. Lovely to have you with us
We're off to the Great North Museum today. They have loads of Ancient Egyptian stuff on loan from the British Museum and my boys are keen to see it.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
morning all
have fun becles
we're meeting sir m and t for lunch, the boys might have a play first, and then my dad is arriving. he's staying in the travelodge nearby for a couple of nights. So we'll nip into town and meet him at the station. I'm trying to decide whether to cook for tonight or whether we should go out. Mil has offered to babysit, but me and dad will go out tomorrow anyway, not sure whether to head out tonight too. my dad eats out a lot as he's on his own so home cooked meals might be a nice change!
I need to do a few jobs i've been putting off for ages whilst L has his nap (hopefully he's stopped chatting and dropped off now!), book dentist & dr, and phone a nursery a about a visit too. I also need to get removal quotes and drop something off at the solicitorsMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Morning!
Thanks for the welcomes.
Hi Teenie, can't believe your bub is 13 weeks and RBG's is 21, have no idea where the time has gone.
I disappeared last week, haven't been very well, but seem to be getting better now.
On the subject of pushchairs, I have a Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette which I love, it's not too heavy, has an easy umbrella fold and it can be used with an M&P or Maxi-Cosi car seat. Don't think Amy will be in the pram part for much longer though as she's quite long, but she's so nosy that I think she'll love being forward facing when the time comes.
I've also been looking at an M&P 03 Sport which is a 3 wheeler for going walks and things, supposed to cope well with rough ground etc. And Mothercare have their 3 wheeler Extreme reduced just now too.
Amy has her first jabs next week, she was in hospital when she was supposed to have them, so they've been rescheduled. She had to have her antibiotic by IM injection so I know she's okay with jabs, but I'm still going to take my mum, I'm still pretty traumatised after they tried to canulate her 7 times.
Oooh, sounds like someone is waking up, I can hear happy babbling. Mummy to an amazing little girl

My Squeak is feeling clingy today. We have found out that my nan is going to have the twins for a couple of days, which means OH and I can take Squeak down to meet his family (who still haven't seen her yet
) and it gives me a break from being here which has been doing my head in! Now I'm just trying to have a blitz everywhere so that I don't have to come back to a mess
Consequently for luch she has had a banana, a pear and strawberries because I'm not sure if they'd be OK when we get back. We're going after the scan on Thursday.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Hello new peeps. It's nice to have some new faces on here, a few I remember from the pregnancy thread. This one always seemed to whizz along when I was on the pregnancy thread, did a lot of people leave?
Can anyone suggest any finger foods for a picnic when out & about? We're doing really well with things like muffin pizzas and eggy bread at home, but I just seem to have a mental block when it comes to thinking of cold things Joe can have. He seems to prefer savoury foods rather than fruit for his finger foods.
I'm having my hair cut at the weekend and am seriously considering just having it all chopped off. Lately it's either just tied up or else looking a complete mess because Joe's been hanging off it and pulling clumps out. I've had it short before, but I did get mistaken for a man a few times  probably because I'm so tall
Huge thanks to those who offered sympathy on the loss of my cat. It's hit me really hard
I've never had a cat just die out of the blue before and he was only 7 or 8 so not old. Since having Joe we've not been able to pay as much attention to the cats as we used to and I've been really beating myself up about whether he was ill and we didn't notice. I don't think he was though. Maybe a little under the weather as he'd not eaten all of his dinner that day (most unlike him!), but I really can't think of any indicators that he was about to drop dead.
On the subject of 3 wheelers, we have a Jane Slalom and I love it
it's a bit of a beast, but really easy to fold and adjust the seat. Joe's CM has a Phil & Teds sport which I've used a couple of times when she's needed to drop Joe off in it. It's really nice to push, but I did find it tricky to fold and to adjust the seat back (I had to look up a video on youtube and I still don't think I did it right)
Good luck with the scan delain Make sure you let us know how you got on before you head off for fun times with the outlaws! You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -

Most of the regular posters decamped to FB, some of them do come back and post. I do wonder about them and how they are getting on, like you say this thread used to whizz along and all the LO's will be so grown up now
I had a haircut recently and it's awful! I had to have a lot chopped off, as where I had been dying it purple it had turned into a frizzy orange mess
They basically gave me a mullet with a bowl fringe :eek:
I would be devastated if anything happened to either of my cats, and the oldest one is 2. My mum's cat of 14 had to be PTS a couple of months ago and she rang me from the vets crying her eyes out because she had taken the cat to be checked out as it had been having fits, it had had one in it's box in the waiting room and she was so destraught the receptionist had to comfort her and take the cat into another room so mum could calm down.
I like my slalom too. We've seen there's a baby shop near here that keeps in all the buggies we are looking at, hopefully they'll have the slalom tandem too so I can look. It will probably be a P&T though, as Squeak doesn't like to just sit in the buggy now and I can see it won't be long before she wants to walk everywhere!
Picnic food:cocktail size sausages cold, cheese (either just cheese or cheese twists) little sandwiches cut into fingers, cucumber sticks, breadsticks, carrot sticks, tomatoes cut up, Squeak likes cooked mackerel which she has cold.
Does that help? We eat a fair bit of cold food, I can't be doing with all the heat from the oven lol. I think buttery jacket potato+cheese with salad is what I want today.
I will try to update, I don't know if I will be able to get online but will do my best

Ooo delain, we saw someone with a Slalom tandem a little while back and it was so LONG! The lady pushing it wasn't very big and she was really struggling to manoeuvre it. DH actually said to her "that looks like hard work" and she said it was a nightmare. She did have what looked like twins though. With 2 of different ages I'd be tempted to try to make do with a buggy board or something like the P&T so that you're eventually left with a single pushchair once you don't need the double.
Cheers for the food ideas, they sound good. I'm going to steam some broccoli and carrots for his tea later, so I might do some extra and see if he'll have them cold. He should be OK - most of it is cold by the time he eventually eats it even if it started out warm. Cheese is a good one, he loves anything with cheese on. I'll have a look if the shop have any cocktail sausages too.
My hairdresser is really good and I've been going to her for years so I'm sure she'll do a good job. I'm just worried that I'll have it all lopped off and then wish I hadn't and it'll take ages to grow back
But right now it really couldn't look much worse than it does most of the time! You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0
