L is also asleep delain, don't want him to sleep too long at this time though as I want him in bed by 7!
I've had an exhausting day! I had a meeting this morning for my freelance work, about an hour away by train. Friends agreed to look after L but they had to go to a kids' summer club for her job, all good as the creche ladies would look after L (friend knows and trusts them and has 2 little ones herself). So i left him just before 9 and the hubby dropped me at the station, get there to find no trains for half hour due to some delays..did just about make it on time but missed the premeet with colleague. Then meeting over ran and when I got back to london bridge there were literally no trains to east croydon, all cancelled due to a burst water main! eventually rang dh in panic who suggested a different route and they picked me up elsewhere. I was worried as was about an hour later than I'd expected, thankfully I'd left my car keys with them so friend's hubby had to drive my car and L back to theirs for lunch lol. When I got there they were all sitting round the table eating lunch with L in his lion booster seat holding court!
Can anyone tell me the threshold for tax credits? I don't understand how it all works.
also having problems finding any childminders/nurseries near the new house. hmmm.
On the positive side the client is v pleased with the work I've done on the project
Keeley - we have a maclaren xt which works well for us as it folds small and goes well on public transport. I'd probably get a baby jogger city mini if I didn't have that.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Tax credits are complicated. There's no set cut off point and it depends on your household circumstances. Best thing to do is put your details in a calculator like this one:
http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx
and it should give you some idea of what you can claim. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Hi Rach. When I spoke to the Tax Credits people they told me that if the combined household income is £42k pa or over after deducting qualifying childcare costs and £100 per week from SMP, then you won't get any Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credits. Apologies if I haven't got this right.
Keelykat with my LO being born in late November in the snow, we didn't go for a walk from our house for several months and with living in the country, never using public transport, so I never used the carrycot from our travel system. I really only used the car seat clicked into the chassis. If I was to do it again I would forget the carrycot and try to get just the chassis, car seat and isofix base. Then when the LO was able to sit unaided, get a buggy that is light and folds flat. They are so cheap. I also wish the basket under our 3 wheel travel system was bigger. It was useless. Also check the release mechanism for detaching the car seat from the chassis, as ours was very awkward when the weight of the baby was added (seemed easy in the shop with no baby).
My LO has had 8 runny nappies today
. I am trying to work out if it was the fact that she had her first visit to the creche on Thursday and was putting everything in her mouth, or whether it is teething (she has 4 teeth and has never had a runny nappy) or whether the curry I made for her didn't agree with her (it was mild and cooked with fresh ingredients). She is due in the creche tomorrow, but I can't take her with the runs!

We are like CL and mainly use the car seat We bought the mothercare spin travel system and atm use the pram section (which turns into the buggy part) very very rarely due to the fact that I get trains etc and my mum picks me up at the other end in the car so I need to have the car seat....tbh TJ looks more comfy in the car seat than in the pram too. I agree about the comfort of the car seat RBG. Our LO hated the buggy until very recently as she slumped down into it, but was so cosy in the car seat.0

We can change the tilt of the buggy bit but I honestly think he is too small for it just yet but he is too big for the pram and hates lying down too, he loves to be nosey and see what is going on around him lol xxThe pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110 -
Evening ladies. I have been lurking since I had my wee boy nearly 13 weeks ago (where on earth is the time going!!). I also have a wee girl who will be 4 in a couple of weeks time. Some of you I remember from the ttc and pregnancy threads
I haven't posted for a while as i've not had much to say LOL and as time has gone on since having DS I keep thinking "i should have posted before now":o
Anyhoo Delains post about 3 wheelers has caught my eye, we have just moved out into the country and are looking at getting a 3 wheeler eventally, so any recommendations?"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Hi Teenie :hello: can't believe it's 13 weeks already  TJ is almost 21 weeks :eek:The pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110

Evening all!
Keely, have no advice re travel system as we decided it wasn't for us. I have muscle weakness and knew I would never be able to lift DS in the car seat anyway so would always have to take him out of it to move him. Besides most journeys I would do would be 30 mins plus so didn't want him in the seat too long. We just got the seat we preferred and then a lightweight buggy which would lie flat. Come to think of it that doesn't really answer your question. i think my point is to work out how much of the travel system you will actually use (not just think you will) and then see if its worth it! For me it wasn't worth it but I know for others it definately is - my brother and his wife preferred being able to put the car seat on the pram (Graco).
In answer to Teenie - I love my Nipper 360! Lightweight, easy to push, fold, lift, etc and is fab on country roads (live in the country myself!), manages nicely in town and in shops! Can you tell I'm a bit fond of it?!?!0
