Sounds good mi3 re the blw think at first they are just playing with it, prob take a week or so till you find evidence of them eating (in poo!)
Yep, sweetcorn and carrots are good bets to give them if you want to see proof it's going in
Loving all the photos
Congrats Rach on the job and new house, Becles enjoy your holiday and neon teenager, and good stuff to everyone I missed, I'm sure I left my brain in bed this morning!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

MV, we figured some time ago that waking LO at 11 pm for a feed wasn't making her sleep any longer thru the night. She never woke herself as soon as we stopped it. We now get 8pm till about 5 am most nights. I'm just waiting for her to do that little bit extra so I don't have to feed and then play so very early, especially at the weekends.
Rach, congrats on the job, childcare is so expensive in London and like you I freelance, but couldn't afford nursery when I have no work, but there's nothing flexible enough to allow me to drop in and out as I need it. I'm putting off the decision till Xmas, we can manage till then, after that we'll see.
SirM, we did pancakes this morning and I think she swallowed some.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Lovely picture Rach
I've never looked into childcare and so thankful that my Mam has looked after all mine for free. She wouldn't even let me provide supplies there, and she's paid for food, nappies, spare clothes and other odds and ends for her house, so all I had to do was drop the baby and go! I love her to bits
Just noticed Jack has a broken tooth. No idea when he did it, but I'll have to take him to the vets on Monday and hope it doesn't cost too much to sort out. Here I go again on my own....0 -
morning all
becles - that's so nice of your mum. i get a bit jealous that my sister gets a lot of free childcare from my mum, and her boys get so see them so much more, but it's just because we're not local i guess
L slept 6.30pm-6am so no complaints, though it's abit earlier than he has been waking recently. we're just playing and then will go and make some breakfast. he's still quite moany so i think his teeth are bothering him probably.
may head to church this morning as we've not been for ages. i don't go as much as i did because often L is asleep when we'd need to set off. plus it makes me a bit
as dh won't agree to L being baptised or dedicated. Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Morning, I think childcare is so expensive and it's much cheaper here in NI than for most of you. Outside Belfast a full time place in a creche is about £600 per month. I think it's about £700 in Belfast.
We're out of milk. Would it be weird to put formula in my coffee? I can't be bothered driving to the shop, when I have to go out at 11am and can get milk then.0 -
Yuck CL! Have you ever tasted formula?! bleh :rotfl: I try to but coffee whitener for emergencies, but I like it with the whitener in so tend to use it up then there is none
The other thing I do is get the bags of milk that you get for the 'jug-it' system, I put them in the freezer and just defrost them overnight by cutting the bag off then leaving the block of milk in a jug overnight. I haven't got any of the jug it jugs, but apparently they are very fiddly and I've got a couple of lidded ones I use for juice, in summer I put them out on the table in the garden so the monsters can do their own.
Squeak sometimes has cow's milk now as she prefers it. It hasn't replaced her formula it's as well as. She drinks it cold from her nuby cups so at least getting her off bottles shouldn't be too hard. She has had today, buttered toast, cup of milk and some strawberries
I applied for a new phone contract last night, am hoping I get accepted as can't be doing with this top up malarkey. Seems I can never get hold of anyone and people have just stopped texting because I don't reply.
Oooh my leg is warm. I hope that wears off or I'll be getting out the drawing pins and doing DIY neuro testing
Rach my girls haven't been baptised, and Squeak hasn't either as yet, because I'd like them all done and think I need KH's permission to get the older 3 done, and he'd say no just to be a prat about it.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

delain L sometimes has cow's milk too as he's only having 2 bfs a day and usually pushes formula away but will sometimes drink cow's milk after a meal. he's a little pickle with it but i can't force him to drink it can i? he seems to prefer food and drink cold!
I'm hoping to get some people (fil etc) to agree to have L on a weds am when i'll be working so that we can just do 2 full days in nursery...dh has worked out it will save us at least £1500 a year!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Nothing wrong with that! If you're worried have you tried making the formula and giving it to him out of the fridge so it's cold? Can't say I blame him really, it even smells horrible.
Squeak isn't too fussy about temperature, but she is impatient so at 3 months old was drinking formula the temperature of tea or coffee rather than wait for it. She will now eat quite hot food as well, she loves sausages, if she can see one she'll stop eating what she's got and start staring until it gets shared with her
If you can save money on childcare go for it. It's not worth me working with 4 of them, the childcare costs would far outweigh what I can earn, so I think I'll just have to try and do a TA course once they are all at school, so childcare won't be a problem. I'd be at an an advantage if I could apply to/get a reference from to the infant school the girls went to as they know I have SEN experience and the HT said I'm highly skilled, so if I got some qualifications I should be able to get the work.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Ok I tried it and it was totally disgusting! Worse than the taste of formula on it's own. Yuk.
Over here we generally get LOs Baptised very young. My LO was 3 months old and that was considered older than normal. There were 2 other babies being Baptised at the same time and they were about a month old.0 -
