We're going to Longleat
Was it nice when you were there? We're going with the group we met on our NCT antenatal classes as a kind of celebration of the babies all turning 1. The babies should all be either crawling or maybe even toddling by then so it'll probably be absolute chaos :rotfl:
And how much badminton is your OH expecting to play anyway? Surely you'd want to do things that involve your DD? So that would be things like walks and the pool. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Yeah, I can't compare it to others but I really liked it. There's a bit of a hill as some of the stuff is sort of in a valley. But for us Longleat is the closest so the driving distance outweighed the hill! We're going to Longleat

That's exactly what I said - we wouldn't be able to play sports this time anyway. I guess he's kind of right though, he was saying for what it would cost about £360 for 4 nights without activities we could spend that just on just having days out and eating out and staying at home and still have money left over. I just wanted to get away so we could have some proper time alone without inlaws and parents coming round. Centerparcs for me is the easy option as we know it's family friendly etc.
That's so nice that you're going with your NCT friends. I'm getting quite friendly with some of my baby group friends so maybe something will happen. I must invite them over to my house soon. Some of the girls have invited everyone to their houses, so it's probably about time I do the same
I just get so nervous! Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
I think it would depend on the girl. Charlotte would find them a bit young, but I read with her every day. If the girl hasn't really had much to do with books, they would probably be ok. Sorry that's not very helpful is it

She loves fancy hair stuff and jewellery and you can pick bits up cheaply in Asda
Thanks Becles. I did have a feeling that this may be the case, seen a few bits reduced in Argos sale so may get that and pop to Asda as well cheers.Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Hello all, I'm back from my holiday/work trip. It was great
I can really recommend Washington DC for children - and adults wanting to see all the sites plus lots of good museums too. What I wouldn't recommend is the jet lag after the flight back. Erin was fine on the way out - we just kept her up late and the next day she had adjusted but now she wont go to sleep before 1am!!! Trying to get her back on schedule but it's hard when OH is on a late shift and lets her sleep in late so he can also get some extra (needed) sleep. My boss suggested reducing her lunch time nap so she would be tired earlier but I can't be that cruel so I'm just going to have to put up with it for the next few days. I plan on getting her to run round outside lots at the weekend to help reset her clock.
Have I missed anything? Any big events/useful advice/good deals?
We got Erin the second sing and sign DVD just before going away and she has already learnt a load of new signs - the cutest had to be penguine

becles. how are the neighbours now? hope they've found something else to chinwag about!
Next door are ignoring me but I'm not bothered as I don't like them anyway. Everyone else is just being normal and chatty like nothing has happened.
James is still upset with his Dad, especially as I told him that they boys were upset and he's not got in touch to see if they are ok or apologise. At the moment James doesn't want anything to do with him and deleted him off his friends on Facebook.
We went to Centreparcs last year for my Mam's 60th. It was a good holiday and we enjoyed it. It was during the big freeze so most of the outdoor stuff was closed, and the indoor stuff was packed! We went to the pool a couple of times and just went for walks and stuff and the bairns enjoyed it.
Mam had a spa as part of her present from my Dad and she really enjoyed it.
Pleased you had a good time Jenny

Didn't miss anything I know of, Jenny! Glad you had fun in DC - I've been there several times and it's pretty cool (bit sick of now, lol).
Thanks for the food advice, all. I think we're going to have to get a lot meaner because I'm sick of not eating "normal" things like potatoes or pizza! (well pizza is hit and miss, strange child!!) And vegetables, he refuses almost all of them and I do NOT want that to become the future. Now the tricky thing is getting DH to follow as well, as he is a total pushover for Finn, lol. I really don't know he has gotten it from as he was given everything under the sun when he started weaning (BLW) and I definitely wasn't allowed to do fussy eating stuff as a kid, either!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

rach, he goes to a CM full-time, but to be fair she IS a "food meanie" in that if he won't eat what we give for lunch, she doesn't give anything else! (well he still gets regular snack times, but those are whether he's eaten his lunch or not)top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Morning
Hope you get the food thing sorted Aless. Stay strong but don't let him see it's bothering you
Busy day again today. Off to work this morning, then housework and laundry to do this afternoon. I'd love a day of doing nothing and being pampered - oh well, a girl can dream.......
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Thanks. Had a long chat with DH about it last night that was really productive and helpful. It's really just dinnertime that it's an issue at all, so just have to deal with it as it comes! I'm also going to make a big effort to make less of his snacks be sweet, as I'm hoping that will help the sweet tooth issue. I'd rather sweet things be a treat rather than something that's expected everyday!
Feeling really productive today. DH is in Manchester, so I've gone into spring clean mode - why is it I do ten times more when he's not around? :rotfl: Have done a HUGE clearout of our bedroom, which was just full of random crap. My dad is coming to visit in August and I want our flat to look like a HOME rather than messy student digs IYSWIM. So I'm going to tackle one room every week or so to spread the burden...and scatter other cleaning jobs in-between. I hope to keep it looking nice & tidy permanently!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
