I work in the east end where everyone has a Graco! a lot of bugaboos and icandys here, i think I'd have a bugaboo out of the two though i like the way the icandy lets you have 2 seats on one chassis. We have a maclaren xt which L has been in since birth, he has always slept well in there. It's funny it's now I sometimes wish we had a parent facing one, when he was little he was sleeping so it didn't matter! For me it was a space/convenience issue and i don't regret it at all. I quite liked the baby jogger city mini but dh refused to contemplate a 3 wheeler after also working in yummy mummy areas!

Giz - i've travelled on trains with L loads, for a shortish journey I'd probably just stand in the atrium and leave them in the pushchair as sometimes have to move sides of the train if the platform at different stations is at diff sides of the train. Modern trains are pretty set up for it.

pigpen - hope squeak gets better quickly. very odd about the temp.

well, silly me went ahead and made 6 house viewing appointments, 5 of which are on the same 2 roads.....i was slightly suspicious as there are loads of houses on these roads but thought it was just terraced houses/first time buyers etc but DH being ever suspicious looked up the police crime stats site and there's a cul de sac off the road where there were loads of incidences of crime...mainly anti social behavour but one violent crime!!! Think i might still go and view as feel a bit silly cancelling plus will give us an idea of sizes and stuff too.

MV- I'm not sure either, not done the stopping bit yet! definitely go to the support places, they should be able to help with stopping too as they're there to support you whatever you decide!

delain - glad the scan was ok :) meant to say ridiculous about the bus, can you contact your councillor they can be helpful?

MI3- that's great they asked you to chat to people, you should think about the peer support thing i'm really enjoying it.

M&M - hope max had a better night. hugs. At least when L was like that I only had him to worry about, must be so hard with others!

Nepthys - we've all had those embarrassing bf moments I'm sure! I've seen plenty of sir m's boobs lol!

well plan for today is baby first aid course this aft. I have to go and pick up some stuff from mothercare too not sure whether to go first or after. think sir m might meet me at the retail park...maybe lunch for the boys in ikea sir m?

    Morning

It's a scary illness isn't it pigpen. Pleased DD1 recovered from it too. Hope squeak feels a bit better this morning.

Rach - I'd go and look at the houses anyway. It will give you ideas of what you are looking for. I looked round loads before I bought this one, and fell in love with her the second I walked in the door!

Busy day today with work this morning and an appointment this afternoon.

Have a good day all xx
Here I go again on my own....

  • Quick breast feeding - stopping question..I'm getting to the end I think. My left boob is doing all the work now (roboboob) and the right has given up the ghost pretty much. I express a bit out of it in the mornings, but Josh doesn't like it much and latching him on is tricky.

Will my boobs, which are currently completely lopsided, go back to some semblance of normality, or am I destined to have a comedy rack forever more?

    Hi,
All 3 of mine have only ever fed off the left boob! I think they prefered to lie that way, and i could never get to grips with holding them like rugby balls on the right side!! I ended up lopsided, but when I stopped BF (5 months ds1, 10 weeks ds 2 and 5 weeks ds 3) It didn't happen straight away-maybe a week or 2 before I was evened out, but it did happen!!

Well last night was a lot better than the night before! Max fell asleep in his chair about 8.30, but after him being so grumpy all day i didn't take him up to bed-i din't want to risk waking him and being stuck with a grizzle guts!! He woke up about 11.30, and by the time we had all got sorted, and he was fed and chenged etc it was 12.30 and he settled himself in his basket (with the help of ds 2's old light up music thingy! :rotfl:) he slept till 4 and by 4.30 was back in his basket and settled himself to sleep then slept till 6.45!
So I feel like i've had loads of sleep-especially compared to the night before! I'm hoping the night before was the one off and not last night though :rotfl:

    Thanks mm :)

Good to know that boobs should eventually go make to some sort of normality!

Awful weather here today. Has everyone else got torrential rain??

I find I crawl up the walls a bit if I don't do something most days, but I am so knackered today and it is so crappy out there I am thinking of just staying in for the day.

Does anyone else feel like that about staying in??

MV They will return to normality after a week or so.....Lottie naturally dropped the BFing(coz she's a nosy cow and I was getting stressed with her not gaining weight:() we dropped 1 feed a week and my boobs rarely got engorged but I was told by MW if they started to feel solid then get a warm flannel and put them over your boobs in the bath or shower but try and hit your chest with the water not your boobs, it naturally draws the milk out so you theoretically should be dripping milk without your body wanting to produce more iyswim:) god knows if it's true or not but it worked for me:)
And when you milk is all gone you think your boobs are saggy...they probably aren't is just you're so used to Pammy 'milk' boobs that normal boobs feel deflated:o I felt proper minging when I stopped but DH was insistent that they were just as pre-preg just abit softer...I believe him coz DH is as honest as they come, whether you wanna hear it or not!:p
And well done for feeding him for so long:T:T:T

CL I feel the same as you re:bfing in public..I tried and failed spectacularly after flashing several people on several occassions:rotfl:At least I got some appreciative stares before anyone realised I was squirting DD in the face:eek::D
I'm hoping to be big and brave with number 2 when it comes along, also think I'll be more confident the next time round as I know what to expect now:)

    Delain...piccy?????:D:D:D Glad everythings ok x

PP hope squeak gets better soon the poor mite!

Had a much better night with a drugged baby lol.. I think it was actually the steroids that did most good.. AB's haven't had time to work but reducing the inflammation in the airways meant she could breathe better and the mucus was more mobile.

    thanks all

Oooh sorry, they do look nice but everyone in posh places has them. I absolutely hate quinnys though!

Watching someone get off a bus with a Quinny buzz 3 is a bit of a giggle, for some reason they never think to walk it off backwards or account for the step down to the kerb, seen a couple of babies almost have an impromptu flying lesson :rotfl:

I haven't seen many bugaboos and don't know what model they are but they don't look all that practical to me. One woman has one that seems to have the same footprint as a wheelchair? Literally it looks like a gutted wheelchair with a baby seat in

We have lots of 'stroller' type buggies around here, some people still persisting with the massive graco travel systems, though I'm not sure why, they are so rattly :o

There is a lady with the Stokke one everyone was raving about a while ago... looks pretty but i would struggle to get Squeak in and out easily :o

I do see the M&P Luna an awful lot, that's very popuar. I love the colours it comes in but they are prone to tipping over especially with older toddlers in (my friend has one)

As you can tell I'm hideously fussy, and I'm going to need a double soon, pah. It needs to go on the bus as well *sigh* so that only leaves the P&T and I'm not mad about the newborn/toddler setup on those.

Hehe no worries. You're so right. I go out in Dulwich a lot with my NCTers and they are everywhere!!!

Thanks Fuzz. I'll try the flannel trick. Think from Monday I'll try dropping the 10am feed and replace it with formula. Having said that, we give Josh a bottle at night (well OH does), but last night he was out so I did it, and he's a nightmare to feed with a bottle! So squirmy and fidgety!

It takes ages too..not looking forward to having to go through that with every feed! I am using the tommee tippee bottles. Anyone reckon Avent are better? I seem to see a lot of bottle feeding mums using them. We also have some of the Dr Brown one's, but they are so big!

Some people like the TT and some the Avent, I used Avent with all my older ones, and TT with Squeak. I did find the teats a bit stiff on the Avent ones at first, but they were tiny then. Maybe just get one from superdrug or somewhere to try before you commit to more than that!

I find the bugaboo (I have the chameleon) really nice to push around and Josh loves it. He seems very comfy in there..it's a sure fire way of getting him to have a bit of a sleep if all else has failed!

It is big though and a bit cumbersome. Folding it up and down to put in the car can be a bit of a trial. It's not difficult to pull apart, it's more that it's heavy so yet another thing for my poor back to struggle with!
