Thanks Nephthys, I am bfing so will feed her if she seems distressed after. Have got some baby calpol in as well just in case.
Sorry to hear that madnessandmayhem, I have the same problems with not wanting to go back in basket sometimes so i feel your pain!
I have been feeling a bit dizzy and sick this afternoon, feeling slightly better now but not great.0 -
I accidentally made something LO loves. Instead of yogurt (because DH really doesn't like her having yogurt with sugar in it) I sometimes give her a really ripe pear stewed and whizzed up, then chilled. She loves it. Today I threw some blueberries in and totally forgot it was on the stove. It ended up like a coulis. I added it to some full fat Greek yogurt and it made the nicest purple yogurt. Really sweet and no additives or sugar. There is loads, so I'm going to freeze the fruit part in little pots and I can add the yogurt later.
God it's sad what pleases me now I'm a mummy!0 -
Delain - hope the scan went well.
That's rubbish about the school bus. I would complain about that.
Charlotte baked cakes at the weekend and I had to keep telling her off for licking her hands - yuk! They get sterilised in the oven though
Well done on the weight loss nephthys - that's an awesome amount to lose.
Sorry to hear the SPD is back pigpen. I had that and it's a right painful nuisance.
Had a good day with Charlotte. We ran some errands this morning and took the dogs for a walk in the woods as she wanted to check if the cherries and apples were ready to pick yet!
Then she wanted to go to the swimming baths. We were in there for about an hour and a half as she was enjoying herself. Came back and had a late lunch and she said she was going up to the toilet. She never came back and I went up and she was fast asleep in bed! Made a lasagne while she was asleep and did some phone calls.
Had to pick James and his friends up after school as they stayed back to play tennis, so she was in her element with all the boys in the carHere I go again on my own....0 -

Like her mummy! Yes, get well soon little squeak.
Rach/SirM no worries about today, would probably have been too much for my LO too as we went to our BF support session this morning and it was heaving, the woman who runs it reputation has obviously spread far and wide. Also I forgot OH is out tonight so I had to do bedtime routine alone, so glad I didn't have an overtired kid on my hands from meeting your LO's.
I only went to the BF session today to say thanks to her, as (fingers crossed) we've got our problems sorted now. But she asked me to stay and talk to some of the mums as an experienced breast feeder now . Not that I had much to offer, my situation was quite an unusual one.
Hope we can get that meet-up together soon, Giz do try and come I'm not that scary in real life. And the reference to yummy mummies is cos Rach has suggested meeting in Nappy Valley their prime stomping ground. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

What's Nappy Valley?
I also worry about what people think of me. I'm absolutely crap at BF in public. I can't put my boob away one handed and DD wriggles too much on my legs. She's also a PITA to feed in public - she's always coming off to have a nose about and my milk sprays everywhere.
Thanks jennynoo for info on carriers.
Sorry it's a short one, I'm knackered and this is the first time today I've been able to get 5 minutes on MSE (DD has been screaming lots). Am going to chill now and watch the apprentice.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Thanks Becles. Am quietly pleased - would be even more pleased if I hadn't just scoffed a curly wurly! Nom nom!
Sounds like you had a fab day with Charlotte.
PP - hope Squeak gets better soon. She must have quite the immune system to be fighting that off as much as she is. Hopefully it will clear up quickly.
Giz - I used to be awful feeding in public! I never could put anything away with him in my arms either. In the end I gave up and made sure I was covered up and then put boob away later! (The best one was when it took me over an hour to realise that while my top was covering me I still hadn't put the boob back in the bra - that was a little embarrasing! :rotfl:).
Chunky was fed in the rugby ball hold on the right side from the beginning but across my body on the left as he only seemed to want to turn his head one way. The habit stuck and even now I only feed him from the left side when I'm out. I have tried putting a muslin over him when he's feeding but he pulls it off and pushes my top up thereby exposing me to everyone who wishes to look! Gone are the days when he would feed and then sleep. Now he plays while he's feeding! I remember the first time I fed him in public. I went to Marks with my SIL and niece who is 3 months older than Chunky. So SIL was happier feeding in public than me. First time was ok tho I was very nervous. The second time I couldn't understand why he kept pulling off and pushing himself away from me. Turns out that he couldn't breathe properly as my b**b was up against his nose (the joys of being bigger chested) so he kept coming off. To make matters worse when he did come off my milk was schooshing in his wee face! I couldn't help laughing at him. It didn't half make me feel better about feeding in public!
Chunky is fast asleep! :T And he hasn't woken up for his 9 o clock fuss and snuggle (he cries, quick cuddle and back in bed). Wonder if he will??0 -
PP sounds awful for your squeak, hope she gets better soon xx
Delain hope things went well at scan.
Sounds good mi3 re your support, really nice you went back to say thanks. Hope we can meet soon. Giz I can understand re feeding. t was very nosey at the age but just gets on with it now.
T very unsettled this eve, crying from 7 till finally settling at 8 then crying again about 9 which I had to bf to soothe him, hope not up much - think may be ill/bottom teeth cutting through.
Also watching half the apprentice after a power cut!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

I am so bad..... I have never BF in public. Or in front of friends. Or family. Only in front of DH. I'm a freak I know, but am very bashful. I actually feel guilty about it, as people seeing BF is the only way it will start to become the norm. Maybe if there is a number 2, I will make an effort to BF in public.0
