haha BB, funny how we all tend to have the same stuff!
Ok so I've decided to stay in today as it's horrible outside and I'm tired. So far we have played on the gym, rocked in the swinging chair, had a morning nap, had lots of cuddles and songs and is now bouncing in door bouncer.
What else can one do to entertain a 5 month old for the rest of the day???Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Depends how desperate you are! I can get a 5 minute break by being a naughty mummy and putting the tv on! Disney Junior is fab if you have Sky or any disney movie works for us but Chunky loves music and bright colours! I can also put him in front of a washing machine while its on - that buys me a good 20 minutes, sometimes more!
We're staying in to but thats cos I feel absolutely awful. Headache and feeling sick. Chunky is currently pulling himself along the floor - have just put him on for a feed cos he's whinging.0 -
thanks for the tips Neph! I may try the tv thing, although he seems to get bored of it very quickly.
Because I'm out and about most days, I don't have naps in a routine. The only one that happens at the same time every day is the morning one. Just tried to put him down in his cot and no go! How many naps a day should a 5 month old have? maybe 2 or 3??
Hope you feel better soon hon. x
nb - he has nodded off in his rocky chair, so he was sleepy. Just didn't want to go in his cot! Ok lunch for me QUICK!!!!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -

Hi MV. My LO had (and still does) 2 naps a day at 5 months. The first 2 hours after waking (usually 9am) for 45 mins and the second about an hour after lunch (usually 2pm) for 45 mins -1 hr.
I would really recommend trying BabyTV on Sky 623. My LO loves it and has her favourite programmes that she goes mad for - Hungry Henry (shows where different types of food comes from) and Mice the Builders (nonsense cartoon). She hates Vegebugs.0 -
Not sure if I have that channel CL..will have a look
I do have Sky but not the kids package.
The washing machine idea is a good one too. Haven't tried that either!
Fuzz..he's still not really holding onto things yet, so he'd end up just lying on the kitchen floor! :rotfl:Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
He's gorgeous MV. I used to just move Charlotte round with me and she would lay and watch me clean the bathroom or stuff like that. Must have been mega exciting for her
I had a Silver Cross Kensington pram and I absolutely loved it. It was a dream to push and I loved being out and about with it. It wasn't car or bus friendly though so only suitable for local walks. I'm so looking forward to getting it back out to push my grandchildren around in
Just had a Chicco London stroller for in the car. It folded up easy and was fine for pushing round town and stuff. It wasn't that expensive and came with a footmuff and a rain cover too.
Not really noticed what other people have around here. Don't pay that much attention to be honestHere I go again on my own....0 -
Aw MV - he's adorable! And he's getting big!
Chunky will happily sit on his own now unless he is in the bath where he insists on throwing himself forwards to get at his toys when they float away! Silly baby!
Do we have the same baby, t does that all the time plus tries to pull himself up in the bath.
I'm so fussy re buggies, like the mcclarens but don't like that they face away. I think the Stokkes look odd too and so expensive. Don't like the phil and teds as pp says is awful position for baby at exhaust level, but not sure would cope with a side to side thing. I have a maxi cosi one, is good for me but probably not for others is all about personal taste.
Meant to be going to a 1st aid course with Rach but t has fallen asleep, hopefully will be a short nap!
MV your b00bs will adjust, but I couldn't be fussed faffing with bottles out etc that's why I'm going to bf till I go back to work.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Becles - i absolutely love those prams , they are gorgeous! I aways wanted one but settled for a silvercross travel system..not the same though.
I worked out my rain cover for the first time today and ventured over to the baby sensory class, is only a 5 min walk so not too bad in the rain. She seemed to enjoy it again and was very good. Got her 8 week check and jabs this afternoon.0
