Giz, I don't have Just Dance, but after having a play at a Wine and Wii night at a friends house I definitely want it! It was loads of fun. Hard work though.
Thanks. I've ordered it now :)

Not in shops... But Squeak has the winnie the pooh one that's £250 in mothercare, we got it for £90 with a matching wardrobe, wooden toy box, curtain pole, curtains bedding and matress with covers (though I know you're meant to buy a new one) from ebay :D

We're going to put it away though as OH doesn't think you can lower the base without making it into a bed, so we got another ebay cot (an ikea one, £3.50!) lol to put Squeak in until she can have a bed. We'll still need another one though. I must be mad what was I thinking :o We're going to have to get rid of most of our bedroom furniture and have all our stuff in boxes under the bed to fit two cts in my room :o
I have this one (assuming its the same one). Didn't get the bargain you did though! Paid £170 for it at Mothercare. Nice and sturdy.

I can beat that one i am seriously broody and i have a 4 week old. (In all fairness shes an IVF baby and not likely to get a sibling so i think i am more missing what i wont get again).
    xx
I beat that :p I wanted another the minute DD popped out! Admittedly when we got home and she screamed all night I didn't want one then. I've been wanting to be preggers again for ages now though.

Had him weighed yesterday..the chunker is 18lb 11oz
Wow. I haven't had DD weighed since the health visitor came (6 weeks old?) I weigh her on my own scales and she's about 13lb 3oz at 4 months :)

My first AF since getting pg has arrived :( my mooncup feels uncomfortable which I guess is just cos i'm out of the habit.
Oh no :( I'm dreading this day. It's been over a year for me without periods and it's been great. I suffer so badly from them and dreading to see if the problems I had prior to getting PG are still there.

Went to Ikea and Mothercare today and bought a Antilop highchair - it's great! OK so yeah it is quite ugly, but it's perfect for taking to the parents/inlaws. Can't wait for DD to be able to sit in it so she can be at the table with us even if she's not eating yet. I tried her in it today but she kind of just slumps so I guess she's not ready.

We're still thinking about getting a wooden highchair for home. Thinking of the babydan, baby weaver or the Mothercare Ato one. Saw the mothercare one today and really liked it. Annoyingly though I've come across the video on You tube of the baby pushing the TrippTrapp over and read that babies have done similar in the Babydan (which is pretty much the same as the babyweaver and ato). But I guess at the end of the day you should be watching LO while they are in the highchair...and I really do want one that gets close to the table.

We've moved DD into her cotbed in the nursery for the first time tonight. I feel horrible about it especially as the advice is 6 months. But she's just got too big for the moses basket and she rocks it about too when she's fidgeting. :( So far so good but I'm preparing myself for a sleepless night.

She slept through (8pm - 6am) for 4 nights on the trot until 2 nights ago and now she's waking 2 - 3 times again. But it's just so random. One night was 2:30am and then she didn't fall to sleep till 4:30 :( And last night she was up at midnight, 4:30 and 6:30 (she'd normally go through to 8 or 9 if she woke at 4:30). Must be yet another growth spurt. She has been feeding quite a lot in the day.

Giz, it will get better I promise. my sister's youngest was born on 3/2 so really close in age to yours and he's been up loads in the night the last few nights too. Have a google of wonder weeks, quite interesting stuff, there's a lot of developmental stuff around 4 months.

I've really worried myself by reading about how leaving a baby to cry can be damaging :( I feel sad that I gave in and did it when we said we never would. He is sleeping loads better now, though sometimes wakes and crys for a few minutes. but i feel sad if that's because he knows no one will come :(

Part of mission make myself feel less frumpy has been completed with a fab new haircut. Friend's sister (proper hairdresser) did it and only charges £20. Had loads off. Thursday's job is choose new glasses!

Rach, I'd take people's opinions that controlled crying is damaging with a pinch of salt. It worked and it didn't very long once you decided to do it - if he was genuinely unhappy he'd cry for a lot longer. Joe's been a brilliant sleeper from very early on (watch him be up all night now that I've said that!), but even he wakes sometimes and has a little whinge. 99% of the time he's asleep again within 5 minutes. The other 1% there's something wrong that we need to deal with - but I'd know that from his cry right away. Crying can sometimes be their way of settling themselves - Joe regularly has a good old shout before he goes down for a nap. He's usually got his eyes closed and is fast asleep as soon as he stops.

Joe went into his cot in his own room at 8 weeks as he'd outgrown his moses basket :( He was a bit unsettled at first as he wasn't used to the space, but it only took him a few days to get used to it (I swaddled him, which seemed to help). Since then, as I said above, he's slept brilliantly. I felt awful though, like I'd kicked him out of our room :(

Giz DD1 had a wooden highchair, it was an absolute pig to clean, so bear that in mind.

Rach I very much doubt L has been damaged at all. It is much more beneficial for everyone to get more sleep!

Becles I hope you are feeling OK.

When was Pigpen back? I can't remember if she said and now I'm wondering if someone burned the house down when she was away or something :o

My LO had seafood chowder for dinner and loved it. She is still in our room and is 6 and a half months. I think maybe she could go into her own room, but DH is reluctant. He feels bad about "chucking her out". I think she might sleep better without the noise of us moving around.

I don't know much about BLW, but had read a report which suggested that BF babies can be deficient in iron from 4 months and I worried that BLW wouldn't get enough iron in. I give LO finger foods, but most ends up on the floor.

What exactly does controlled crying involve?

Antilop chair is meant to be v good for blw as easy to clean.

CL iron stores start to decrease at 6 months but don't automatically go, so that is why gradually increase this in food. Thing with BLW is trust your baby they know what they need, I think we are in a culture of they must have x amount rather than letting them decide - t is happy, putting on weight and eating sometimes/sometimes not - he knows his own mind, I love it!

Controlled crying can vary from leaving babies to cry from hours without checking to settle themselves or can involve parents going in every 10 minutes at first (just to comfort but keep baby in bed), then double time for checking etc. I have used it for naps as won't settle otherwise but only has cried for 15 mins at most.

T has been in own room since a couple of months, was easy tbh as he kept waking me by moving around!

Thanks SM. I'll read up on BLW if there is a no.2!

I always thought I would leave my baby to cry, as long as she was dry & fed, but I haven't been able to. Maybe if she cried a lot I wouldn't have another option.

Re: appearance. I've over a stone on from I got pregnant, but I'm half a stone lighter than my heaviest, so not too worried. I'm a size 12. My DH is always complimentary and never suggests that I lose weight. I've a hen weekend in 2 weekends. I'm getting my teeth whitened, a spray tan and a new hair do. My sis bought a Karen Millen dress and is letting me wear it for the night. If I don't look half decent, I'll be raging.

I admit we put Elliot into his own room when he was about 3 months old if i remember correctly, as he wasn't sleeping too well as we kept waking him up or he'd wake us up. I had a cold over the christmas and my coughing and sneezing kept him up, so we decided to put him in his room. We got a good baby monitor, and he's only next door so not far away (we live in a smallish apartment). He slept a lot better then.

Right now-he's still cutting the last back two big teeth (it's only taken a year!). I'll be glad when they are through completely now, three stinky nappies yesterday because of it! Was glad he was in a nappy when he did it and not in pants to be honest! He had a nap on my lap poor thing, he doesn't usually have naps or cuddles on me now he's older, so it was nice to have a love :)

    Thanks, will google that.

I've let DD cry...did it last night. Left it 5 minutes before going up to settle her. Unfortunately OH caved in and put her back in her moses basket in our bed room. I was fuming. We had a huge argument. Slammed a few doors. We've not had an argument like that since before we were married I think. Made up again quickly though :A It's just so frustrating when you're already doing something you don't want to do and then he comes along and makes it harder. I guess there's going to be a lot of that as DD gets older. I'll be the bad guy and daddy will cave in to everything she wants.

So back to square one, it will DD's first night in her nursery TONIGHT.

Oh really? That was the main reason of getting one. OK need to rethink. I can't see OH agreeing to keep the Antilop for our house. Although I've already moved a chair upstairs and made room for it at the table :D Maybe it'll grow on him.
