Hi Tinks, my LO (born the same day as Lily) refuses to sit up. If she spots something she wants she will roll over to get it, even if that means rolling 3 or 4 times, but when I sit her on her bum she throws herself backwards. If I put a toy between her feet she can sit, but as soon as it loses her attention, she throws herself backwards. It's very frustrating.

Joe won't sit either and just throws his weight backwards or to the side - he just wants to be lying down so he can move about. He's almost crawling and is getting scarily good at reversing and turning around, so he can get pretty much anywhere he wants to now  He's probably going to turn out like his Dad, who's a right fidget and never sits still for long.

Thank you BigBird. I was starting to worry. A neighbour of ours has a LO born the day after ours and she has been sitting for a while. I really want our LO to be sitting up without wobbles by the time I return to work and leave her at the nursery. The room she will be in is up to 2 years and I'm afraid of her lying on the floor and other LOs walking on top of her.

She whinged a lot today for no reason, and just wanted me to carry her around. So fed up.

Wierd isn't it I am worried that Lily is not rolling over :o Spoke to the HV today she just said fine maybe she just doesn't want to! My friends LO is 20 days older than Lily and she doesn't sit yet but very much like your LO rolls for everything . x

We met up with some friends who have babies around Joe's age last Friday. Joe's the youngest and the other mums were amazed at how much he can move around - but their babies are all sitting up really well (only the oldest baby, who's about 5-6 weeks older than Joe, is crawling). One of the babies can pull herself up to standing really well, which none of the others are doing. So they are all mastering things in their own time. I guess some babies are happy to sit and some want to be on the move. I'm sure in few weeks our babies will be sitting still occasionally, CL - and Lily will realise that she can move around!

Joe actually managed to pull himself up to a sitting position and then sat for a couple of minutes at the weekend, so I know he can do it when he wants to. When are you going back to work CL? If she's not doing it already by then, you might find that your LO is more inclined to sit up when she's with a group of other children who are all sitting and playing.

CL I worried that t was sitting up but lady who runs a group I go gave me a support cushion which helped him, plus as others have said they all develop at different rates.

Delain thanks for interest re the bf peer training is really interesting so far, just done bits on formula vs bf. Glad to hear you will give bf a try, me and Rach will try and help in anyway we can.

Can feed t with porridge made by MIL but that's it just wants to grab everything but also means I can eat too!

T slept for an hour and a half in his cot in the day which is unheard of, wish I knew was going to do that as would have done something productive!

Not back to work for 2 months, so probably worrying over nothing. Was it you BigBird who said their LO loved blueberries? How do you give them to him?

Evening all! Hope everyone is ok! I have read back but I have a head like a sieve made worse by baby brain which everyone told me would get better - they lied!!! Anyhoo - hubby's cousin had a baby boy this morning - all well. Can't wait to meet him. Is it wrong to be broody when LO is only 8 months old and my body is physically not ready yet to have another (stupid ody foiling my plans!)??

Every baby really is different but they all get there. Isaac is able to sit up which he can do really well unless he is in the bath when he prefers to be almost horizontal in order to reach all the toys that keep floating away from him. He can't crawl yet but is trying to get on his hands and knees. He can get around fine but digging in his toes and pushing himself along - kind of like commando crawling. He will happily walk if I hold his hands but he can't stand holding furniture yet. Thankfully this means there is only so far he can get on his own.....am far too knackered to chase after him all the time. Lazy mummy!

You can just hand Squeak anything and she will eat it, just like that. Haven't tried blueberries though since she hated my puree :rotfl: I'd give them to LO whole :)

Nepthys Squeak will not let me be lazy mummy anymore :( she is commando crawling everywhere! she got to the kitchen gate earlier when I was cooking and went 'mum mum mum' :D:j

OH made a massive 3 tier carrot cake the other day, it is calling me :o

I have had baby brain for nearly 9 years lol. They lied to me too!
