    hi all

haven't managed to get on for a few days.

sorry to hear about the colic digital. i think it's really common for them to be unsettled at night, I remember when L used to start screaming the minute dh puthis key in the door and I used to spend most evenings propped up in bed with him or walking the floors. I promise it does pass though and I can really hardly remember those days now (he's just 8 months!)

Giz, they do sometimes go a few days without a poo, L still occasionally does. cloth definitely holds in the poo more than disposeables!

we currently seem to have about 3 poos a day!

we are still up and down with sleep...had a few nights of only one wake up around 1am but then last 2 nights haven't been good. I'm surprised I don't feel more tired tbh. Meant to be starting the sleep training tonight but not sure I can face it. Just don't know what else to do as we've tried all the gentle methods and nothing seems to work :( last night he woke at 1 and i held him after the feed until he went to sleep as I just wanted some sleep, then he woke at 4 and wouldn't settle properly until I caved in and fed him at 5.30. I know that sounds mean but I am trying to have max one night feed as he's 8 months now and I'm tired. PLus he's not feeding well in the day (bf) though he's eating loads of solids. I just don't feel I have a clear plan though.

sammy girl i think the + teats on CTN are variflow.

bellabear, try not to get too stressed about a routine, i worried about it for ages as dh was obsessed with getting L into one. all that happened was stressed mummy and we did eventually fall into a routine anyway. i think it's a bit later than they start to want to go to bed at bedtime iyswim

Giz we rarely have more than one poo a day and it can be every other day - so when it comes its pretty explosive. Have to agree with Pigpen, disposables are worse - we had to switch to them when we were on holiday and twice they leaked instantly leaving poo on us. On both occasions we were sitting in restaurants - so not very pleasant for the surrounding customers either.

Giz, I agree with Pigpen and Make-it-3, the last 2 times that Tigger was in a disposable and pooped it went everywhere. I'm a BG user too, I've bought a couple of Petit D'sous (spelling?) bamboo booster/insert thingys for night use and use with the big microfibre one. It's holds fine. For day use I've started to add a littlelambs bamboo booster and I get extra time out of that.
From what I can gather the consensus seems to be that a PD booster + Easypeasy Hemp is the best combo for night use if you have BG nappies. When Tigger gets a bit more of a heavy wetter I'll probably invest in some Easypeasy Hemp to back up the littlelambs and ditch the microfibre altogether. HTH :)

No, I don't even know why they bother measuring the bump

It's to check for abnormalities as well as baby size.

I suddenly went huge at about 30 weeks when I was carrying Charlotte so was immediately referred for more scans and tests to find out what was going on. They discovered I had way too much amniotic fluid, and they were concerned about me having diabetes, pre-eclampsia or there being something wrong with Charlotte. None of them things happened, and I've still no idea why I had so much fluid!

Tough night at boot camp this evening. We did loads of leg work included masses of one legged squats and my legs are absolutely burning now. I bet I can't walk in the morning :o

I had this with Bob, polyhydramnios - I measured big throughout had 2 negative GTT then finally a positive one which was suspected all along since I had gestational diabetes with both the other two - it just didnt show up till really late with Bob and then it was managable. The extra fluid was causing unbearable tightenings though and I wouldn't be able to get my breath or move which made for intereesting shopping trips. I think they got worried I was going to go into premature labour and that's why they wanted him out early. The surgeon just kept saying there was tons of fluid after and I was a bit yeah I know dont you read the notes.

Bob had a bit of a screaming fit last night around 9, couldn't figure out why but just gave him a cuddle in my room and he seemed to be settling again so put him back to bed and he was fine the rest of the night. hopefully he is a bit better today.

I already had SPD so the weight of all the extra fluid made that a lot worse, and I also developed severe oedema. My ankles were the same size as my thighs and I had no movement in them and little movement in my knee joints, so I was pretty much immobile. My feet were so big, I couldn't wear any socks or shoes apart from some crappy plastic flip flops that I got free on a magazine, as they had toe posts and I could stretch the straps over my feet :o

I had heavy Braxton Hicks but wasn't sure if it was labour at 36 weeks, so they sent me into hospital to get checked out by the consultant. He said the pressure inside was so great with all the liquid in there, he was nervous in case my waters broke naturally and everything whooshed out taking my insides with it

Midwife had to burst my waters and then sit with her thumb up there stemming the flow so the liquid trickled out gently. They had sat me on masses of pads, but they all got soaked, the midwifes trousers were soaked as she ended up sitting in a puddle and it was running off the bed, so someone had to come in with a mop and bucket :o

I literally saw my belly deflate in front of my eyes and it was such a relief when all the water was gone!

Morning all. I have the last baby massage class today for Tigger, quick nap right now, so hopefully he won't be all moany like he was last time when he was tired.

Giz, I forgot to ask yesterday if you have vest extenders. I'd recommend them if you don't. They don't get dirty hardly so you don't need lots. I had a bit of wicking for a while and bought a pack of 3 to see what difference it made and it does seem to make a big difference (no extra squishing of the microfibre) PLUS they make his vests last a little bit longer before I have to get the next size up :T

Becles I am so mean but that really made me :rotfl::rotfl: Amazing what we go through for babies isn't it, from months of waddling like a penguin to dramatic births and then not sleeping for months after :o

I'm sure if we had any sense we seriously wouldn't bother with it, I know I've sat in hospital before in labour in loads of pain and wondered why I ever though it was a good idea :o But then they're here and lovely and in less than a year you'd do it all again. Nature has a lot to answer for :p

Had a phone call yesterday just as I was about to get off the bus to go home to say that Twin2 had thrown up all over the classroom floor and could I go and get her? So I had to stay on the bus and look like a loony for pressing the bell and changing my mind literally as it stopped :o

She slept most of the day and they asked me to keep her at home today.

Delain... OH still wonders why people would choose to have children and inflict such torture on themselves.. and Squeak is a fairly good baby.. God help him if this one is a beastly one!

Muppet here has accidentally cancelled the anomaly scan.. oops!!

Fatso has had 2 weetabix, 4 rice cakes, a crumpet, honey nut cheerios and a gingerbread man.. for breakfast!!!! And 2 beakers of juice!! This is surely no a normal amount for a 9.5 month old fat thing!! No wonder she is 22lb really is there? Mind you go back about 10:30am to the smell of poo and 3 nappies on he floor.. just from today.. and yes she had filled another with stink..

We had quite a good night last night, despite the LO having a cold. She slept in with me, because she was so snuffly and wanted cuddles. She slept from 8pm until 5am, had a quick BF and back to sleep until 8.30am. Heaven.

    Awww that sounds lovely :D

A few times I've woken up and found Squeak in bed with me and have no recollection of putting her in there :o I think she just wakes up for cuddles now.

We are having issues with teeth :( and she is right off her milk. I suspect it's because she has my cold and she's having trouble but I'm still quite worried, because she's had an intermittent temperature as well. I don't know whether to ring the doctors or not :(
