Giz, my (BF) LO went from having a poo at nearly every change, to a massive liquid poo every 3 days at about 11 weeks. The first 3 days with no poo we went to the emergency GP and they felt her tummy and said she was fine (she was smiling and cooing at the Dr, so it was sort of obvious). This continued until we gave her solids. She had no discomfort, just held on to it! When it did come it would be so much it would escape up the back and down the legs of her nappy. The first day she ate solids she went immediately to solid poos twice a day.
Yeah, yesterdays came out the legs and onto the bouncy chair. Could have been worse - she could have been sat on my lap! I wondered if it's the reusable nappies that can't handle poop explosions, or are disposables the same?

I'm also finding now the bumgenius is not holding the wee over night and I'm getting wicking. So time to move onto my totsbots stretchies + flip wrap I think.

I used pampers and they still leaked with those explosive ones. Luckily it only lasted for about 7 weeks.

Disposables are worse!!! They never contain anything.. we had poop in every sleepsuit she has ever fit in and bodysuits! the jumperoo, the high chair the car seat the bouncer chair.. OH's lap, my lap, the cot.. they are rubbish.. I hate them!!!

I have to bleach ALL the sleepsuits and bodysuits so they are decent for the baby.. they are all freshly washed and put away but they do have staining!

    Everyone is in bed yay.

Giz my first only pooed every 3-4 days and when she went it was an explosion - she is 6 and regularly blocks the loo now. She was in disposables and they could not handle her poos for a while.
Bobs disposables can't handle his pee overnight either, most nights its fine but every now and then he wakes up and his vest, and sleepsuit have wet patches and I have to change all his sheets, different brands made no difference. My other 2 were fine overnight in pampers baby dry but apparently they changed them recently - well they are not as good as they used to be.

Think I'm gonna have a bath and an early night tonight, fingers crossed everyone is back to normal tomorrow.

Hello ladies, im afraid im using this thread as an advice forum.

Is anyone using CTN bottles?? I've been a terrible mummy and have been using them all wrong. After some googling it seems I'm using the wrong teats on the wrong bottles. I'm using #2 and varifkow teats and as far as I can tell there's no difference in the actual bottles. I've been putting any teats on bottles with the pink valve stem thing but I've now seen that not right?? Can anyone help explain what teats go on what bottles and how you can tell the difference?? I'm so baffled!!

dusty are they the anti colic ones? I'm not sure but there are the easivent teats which go with the easivent bottles, not sure about the anticolic bottles. I use CTN but just the normal bottles and teats - Bob dribbles tons of his milk out but I've tried different bottles just something he does.

edit: there are anticolic teats too for those bottles - not sure which bottles you have but seems there are 3 different types.

Giz we rarely have more than one poo a day and it can be every other day - so when it comes its pretty explosive. Have to agree with Pigpen, disposables are worse - we had to switch to them when we were on holiday and twice they leaked instantly leaving poo on us. On both occasions we were sitting in restaurants - so not very pleasant for the surrounding customers either.

You can cope, if he has been feeding ok from what you have just give him that for now. I can see how you could easily get muddled.

Dusty - I had a mixture of Tommee Tippee and Avent bottles and found the Tommee Tippee ones carp - are they the same as CTN? The first teat size is a 1, and then the next one up is a +. I tried the + on the TT bottles and they were a nightmare - way too fast. DD would be spitting it out all over the place! As far as I know, don't worry about the actual bottles and necks, it is the teat that you need to get right. I stopped using the TT and just use Avent now, and we are on the second size teat which is a number 2.

Sorry to hear about the colicky babies - that sounds awful :( Hope babies get better soon.

DD had her 8 week jabs on Friday and had a delayed reaction on Tues/Wed this week which was awful. She just wouldn't settle during the day and cried constantly, but randomly slept from 10:30pm to 6:30am both nights! I took her to the GP on Wed who said it was just a reaction, but that she also had a spot of mouth thrush, which we have some meds for, so will hopefully clear up soon. It's so draining when they cry contsantly. I found the best position where she cried the least was over my shoulder with her facing the TV. Which meant a sore arm and neck for me , and facing the wall lol!
