Hey digi *waves*
She was 8lb 10, not a bad size considering they all thought she would be a small baby (those measurements of bump really don't mean anything do they!). Wow, Alex was a good size! El is already 10lb (however she hasn't been measured for about 2 and a half weeks), she's so long though. Unfortunately she didn't fit into alot of her nb clothes either. Was gutted as I had washed them thinking I was being organised so now can't exchange for the size up. El has massive feet too! My friend has an 18month old and says that they have the same size big toe lol! I'm hoping it means she'll be tall! I know what you mean about the grip, once she's got something, she's not letting go unless she wants to lol.
Thanks Wendz, I'll keep my fingers crossed for them!
CL-a 3am feed sounds great, I've had LO in with us a couple of times when she really isn't settling for anything, I'm trying to stop though. However DH does the first feed of the morning, before he goes to work, then plonks her in with me if she doesn't settle in moses basket (she'll settle with me after about 10minutes of cuddles), a habit I need to break I think.

Just took Poppy to be weighed and she is 9lb 3 1/2 oz now . Put on 1 lb 2 1/2 oz is 2 weeks so very pleased with that was always get paranoid with bfing that she isn't eating enough.
I had the opposite problem with newborn clothes, bought hardly any and then she was small and had to constantly wash the newborn stuff. She is wearing some 0-3 months now but they are baggy.0 -
afternoon all
Bobs poorly, had loads of pooey nappies yesterday - 2 so far today and really snotty. Plus the grumpiness that goes with it. He does not like me wiping his nose and really screams. I stuck the music channel on earlier as it grabs his attention so he sat and watch 10 mins or so, then I sent him with OH on the school run so I can have a small break before OH goes to work. Figured the fresh air would do him good too. He won't lay down to play - I guess he is more snotty when he lays down and he isn't quite at the stage he can sit and play. It's gonna be hard work this evening. He is not off his food at all so I've just been feeding like normal, his poos though many are not particularly runny so I figured its fine to just eat like normal. Crumbs I hope the older 2 can entertain him a bit this evening, sometimes he watches them ride their bikes but its wet outside. I wonder if he is even gonna like his bath tonight since he normally lays down in it. His naps have been short today as well so this will add to the grumpiness.0 -

No, I don't even know why they bother measuring the bump as there was no indication I was carrying such a monster :rotfl: And they thought your bubs would be small?!
He's not chubby though, a lot of people are surprised when I say he was 11lb as they expect a fat baby, but his weight is all in his length. He was 59cm at birth and when last measured was 61cm. He will be tall as got tall genesMe and his dad are both tall, as are all our family on both sides. So expect a lanky teenager :rotfl:
I need to get ebaying some of the stuff I have that I don't need. A scary amount to get rid of, but thinking of the spare £ gives me motivation. Just got to find the time to do it now
Alex had his hearing test today at the hospital and has perfect hearing  He got a bit grizzly when we woke him up for the test but I stuck him on boob to shut him up :rotfl:
Just had a mad rush around tidying up, putting washing away, putting washing on etc etc. Just having a wee sit down then will get the boy out and feed and change, then head out to co-op
Hope everyone else and bubs are well, sorry my posts are self indulgent, I don't have anything constructive to add to anyone else's posts yet :rotfl:0 -
Welcome Bellabear. I read somewhere that around six weeks is when they give you their first genuine smile. It's supposedly your reward for making it thru the first demanding weeks. And they are incredibly demanding, I think the only way to stay sane is to give into them, they aren't trying to be manipulative, they are just that needy. I found wearing a sling during the day helped and co-sleeping at night. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

I can't rave about BLW enough, although be prepared for a bit of gagging at first. There's loads of fab resorces online about BLW, as well as a facebook group if you're on there, which is nice to chat and share ideas, escpecially if you don't know anyone IRL who does it.
DD had a poo explosion yesterday - it seems she is now pooing every other day. Not sure if that's bad? But her poos are big when they come. At least she doesn't seem miserable with tummy ache.
Yesterday she had a moment screaming and we tried a teething ring as she's constantly chewing her hands when she gets upset. And that seemed to settle her nicely.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Giz, my (BF) LO went from having a poo at nearly every change, to a massive liquid poo every 3 days at about 11 weeks. The first 3 days with no poo we went to the emergency GP and they felt her tummy and said she was fine (she was smiling and cooing at the Dr, so it was sort of obvious). This continued until we gave her solids. She had no discomfort, just held on to it! When it did come it would be so much it would escape up the back and down the legs of her nappy. The first day she ate solids she went immediately to solid poos twice a day.0

Squeak still poops several times a day.. when she was new it was every nappy pretty much and out of the leg, up the back or both! I don't think we have ever had a day with fewer than 3 poops.. she is full of it!!!
She does eat like all 3 bears and Goldilocks though and always has!
BLW wouldn't work for her.. mainly because she didn't have the coordination to pick food up and put it in her mouth so she has slop... she was about 7.5-8 months before she could reliably pick up food and put it in her mouth.. she is now 9.5 months and has had junk food for dinner lol.. 2 sausages, 3 smiley faces, 2 huge sprouts and a handful of peas.. the diet will be redeemed by fruit and yoghurt for dessert lol.
I am hoping this one doesn't poo as much as her otherwise poor OH will spend his entire days poo scraping!!!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
