Bella - Poppy is restless too. She won't go to sleep until nealy 12 most nights.. She does quite a long stint then but when she wakes up is hard to get her down again after feeding. I find it veryfrustrating getting her down too.
Poppy has been smiling occassionally for the last week or so.
CL- good to know your LO grew out of the staying up late, hope Poppy does too.0 -
She was exactly 6 months yesterday. We didn't get into any kind of a routine until she was over 3 months. Then she just decided she had to be in bed at 8pm. Has been like that since. Until she was 3 months I let her decide what she wanted to do and when. She never cries and now has a good routine she has formed herself. Up at 7am, bed at 8pm.
When she was going to sleep very late in the evening, she was getting up late in the morning, nearly 11am. It was OK because she is our first and I could lie on too.0 -
We are always laying in at the moment, feel a bit lazy but like you haven't got any other kids so can get away with it and makes you feel a bit more able to take on the day.0

Ooh hello Wendz
(I see 19th April was a busy day!) Eloise does have a bit of a long stint (about 4.5 hours) after the evening stint at least so thats one thing, wish I got as much sleep but every time she stirs it wakes me up as I'm ready to get up for her again! Poppy is a lovely name btw.
CL that gives me a bit of hope, 8pm would be lovely! Guess my expectations were high as well, we started babysitting my nephew from 2 months+ and he was sleeping through from 10-8, what I wouldn't give to have her sleeping like that now lol.£2000/£9000=22.2%0 -
Ahh thanks. Eloise is a beautiful name. Sounds like she has a similar sleeping pattern to Poppy. Hope we both get a bit more sleep soon!0

My LO still has one night feed at 3am at the minute. I had a few nights early on where she slept right through, but just the odd night. Now with the odd exception she does 8pm to 3am a feed then back down until 7am. Quite a few nights she has stirred at 5.30am and I've had to take her in with us to get her back over, but that seems to have stopped.0

Thanks for all comments ladies. We are using Infacol at the moment, but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Have used it for around a week I think. Think I might get some Colief to try.
Alex is being awful this morningHad a long feed off each boob, and a burp inbetween as well as after. He then kept falling asleep, so slid off boob easily, so that usually signals him finished. I put him down to get dressed and he's been screaming almost none stop ever since! Just had about 20 minutes when he's been quiet. He did several 'wet farts' so doubt it's still wind. He is very angry and red in the face from screaming. He will go from contented baby to screaming baby in a split second. He's now stopped screaming and has his eyes closed.
It is wearing me out and only early days stillHe wasn't bad during the night. Had a 'double hosepipe' incident which involved him needing a fresh set of clothes, so he screamed after that and took a while to settle. For his feeds during the night he was fine. Seems like the daytime he is worse. Oh he's now started again
We're off to the hospital later this arvo for his hearing test and I really hope they don't wake him up as he's just gonna start screaming. I really don't know what to do to settle him0 -
Poor Digital! That's sounds tough. I wish I had some words of advice.:grouphug:Hugs.0

Hi Bella
How big was Eloise?
Alex was only 3 days overdue but a big baby. He is so strong, he has been able to hold his head up from about 3 days old, can stand up on my lap, pushes himself along and punches toys etc. He also has an immense grip :rotfl:His feet are something else - MASSIVE. Someone forgot to tell him he's a newborn. He's never been able to fit in newborn stuff either, and doesn't look or act like a newborn. I still cannot get over the fact I housed him inside me for 9 months :eek:0 -
Hello Newbies!...
Reading other posts though, I don't think he really eats very much (when he is eating) in comparison to other babies his age. He'll be 7 months old next week, should I be worrying about it? I assumed that as he got more into the solids he'd want more of those and have less milk, but he's still drinking as much milk as he was before we started solids.
...
BigBird - all babies are different. Erin hardly eats anything most of the time (although she loves spag bol!) Before she started nursery we were lucky if we got a few crumbs down her. However we never really worried because she has always been a chubby happy baby so you just have to go by what is right for your LO.Our LO has a blocked nose and is choking in her sleep because the dummy in her mouth is making it difficult to breathe:(
They breath through their noses anyway so the dummy probably doesn't make that much difference.
digitalphase I think I read that keeping them upright after a feed can be beneficial as well - another reason to use a slingMum to DD born Oct 2009
