I wonder if quiet time playing in his room in place of a nap would help? When Alice stopped napping, we replaced the nap with quiet time and found it makes a huge difference. My toddler rarely naps in the afternoon anymore, which is fine by me-but he's getting very grumpy and tired by around 4-5pm. I hope this stage passes soon, as I can't get him to nap earlier on but obviously can't let him sleep at 4-5pm!Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

God evening ladies

Good to see everyone has been enjoying this lovely sunshine. I have been a bit worried that I have overdressed DD in the heat. I gt really paranoid about her being cold
At the moment she is mostly wearing bodysuits and sleepsuits - so I don't think she's too bad. Family and friends have been so generous with their birth gifts and we have a gazillion pretty summer dresses, mostly 3-6 months - I can't wait for her to wear them
At the moment we're still wearing the few newborn bits that we have - I don't want to buy any more as I know she won't be in them much longer.
We got her passport photos done at Snappy Snaps today. Isn't it the rule that passport photos are supposed to be super unflattering?! She looks like a right chubba in the pics.
Newbie question - do babies generally have a lot of wind down below? DD breaks wind a lot - and I mean a lot. She was even trumping in church - very embarrassing :rotfl:
Hope everyone and babies are well

ds has loads of wind too sammy and when he poos you can hear him grunting for miles now!
I have been still dressing ds in a vest and trousers and long sleeved tshirt in the sun. today i even put a fleece jacket on as i didn't realise how warm it was outside but if they're just sitting/lying in the pushchair it's not the same as walking etc!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
LOL.. Squeak is VERY VERY bottom end windy.. she would do enormous rasping passages of wind like man parps! when she was very tiny.. it is a little better now she is bigger but she still breaks wind a lot more than my others did.. takes after her dad in that respect too.. he is very windy... I know you needed to know that! I am just happy neither of them stink.. it would be like a farm yard in here!
She has been wearing a long sleeve body suit a sleepsuit and a cardy.. we've not been out in the pushchair but she would wear a jacket too if we did. She will not wear any kind of hat though.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning
Charlotte was always really windy too. OH is very windy and so are the dogs, and James does ones that can clear a room
Got a few calls to do for work this morning, but really can't be bothered to do them
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
morning everyone. am just putting my feed up whilst the little one naps. Not a good night here, even in bed with me he wasn't very settled and was blowing raspberries at 3am. I need to get him back in his cot i think! I just need some sleep first so i have a bit more energy to deal with it! we don't do controlled crying here so all takes time!
spent some time jobhuntinig last night but am completely unmotivated! Would happily not go back but dh says we can't afford for me not to work!
there's so little work around though it's depressing.
No real plans for today though i suspect the day will involve coffee and sir monster at some point!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Hello again, it's a lot quieter here then when I used to come on regularly! Everyone still on facebook? or out enjoying the sunny weather?

I'm going to try and get my toddler to have some quiet time after lunch, see if that helps-thank you.

I'm mum to 15 day old JJ. no major dramas so far but I'm struggling with nites as OH works nites and I'm so tired all the tome. JJ is a good baby and only cries when he needs/wants something it is working out what that is the problem at the mo.
I also think he's constipated, he's not pooed since sat nite and seems to be in distress sometimes. MW came today and suggested cooled boiled water twice a day and to try ready made formula rather than making our own. JJ is a FF baby as I really struggled with BF.
Anyway, that's me....I will continue to lurk and pop in with the most silly questions I'm sure......;) xx
Wellcome DustyStar, it must be very hard with your OH on nights, my OH does shifts but they either start at 7am or finish at 11pm. When he is on an early he sleeps in the spare room and that works fine for both of us.
Have you tried baby massage? That can help with constipation.
Rach You might love going back to work, I did! and I never thought I would say that but there are definite benefits - I get to read my book on train in peace, I get to on on the internet in peace without feeling guilty or rushed, I get to drink a hot cup of tea and I get to exercise my brain more. Good luck job hunting.
Hi Keely Most of the old gang are on FB. Hope Elliot is doing well

I need a rant... sorry.. lol
I picked my 6 y/o up from school and she had a note saying she had had a cold compress on her knee.. apparently 2 boys from year 2 had grabbed her by the arms and one of them kicked her in the back of the knee so it has a huge red mark and bruising 5 hours later.. she has severe hypermobility so is struggling to walk now with the pain and swelling.. I have given her ibuprofen and hopefully it will help.. I am so angry!!
I demanded the boys parents be told and have given her permission to punch them as hard as possible in the face if they attempt something like this again.. little turds.. DD3 said the head says they aren't allowed to fight.. I said they aren't allowed to be bullies either and self defence is not wrong.. starting a fight is wrong finishing it isn't! I will not have my child used as a punchbag!
I said if the parents have not been made aware by the school I woud gladly do it myself.. (said teacher quickly scuttled off to make sure the parents were told before I got to them.. I wouldn't mind but I was so angry I was being 'nice') You'd think I was a playground brawler the way they carry on sometimes lol..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
