    morning all

    hope work goes ok becles.

giz i know what you mean re time, the weeks are flying by and i still haven't managed to properly look for a new job!

mv - belated happy birthday. I'm going to pm you re meeting up in a sec (are you on fb, will be easier). don't worry other mums we'll pass details on if other s london ladies are up for a meet. sir m and i are meeting a bit later so we'll get our busy diaries together lol.

in terms of clothes, i've been wondering too. ds has been sleeping in a vest, sleepsuit and 1 tog sleeping bag which seems ok at the moment. he's ended up in bed with me the last 2 nights anyway as has been unsettled after a late feed and we all get more sleep that way. if i had the time again i think i'd cosleep from the beginning.

our flat is a mess. i hate it. pigpen i really need to come and join the flyladies again. to be fair it's probably not that bad but it's bad for me.

    Hi Ladies :)
We had a wonderful weekend, the tummy bug left, and normality was resumed.

William has been sleeping in a nappy and his sleeping bag for the last few nights as he is a very hot baby. We have not had vests either, on Sat and Sun just dungarees, no top. He is ok with a hat, although i have got one that is slightly too big, so no pressure on his head, which i think helps.

Just had a friend over with her little one, and it was lovely to put them both on the play mat. They chatted to each other for a bit :) They are 1 month apart, she is older than William.

I got a letter from work on saturday, which has confirmed my request to work 3 days a week, and take 2 days leave for 10 weeks, so I go back on 3rd May!!!! But get to spend Thurs and Frid with William :)

Right lunch is calling, while WIlliam is having a nap :)

That's excellent. I may have already said but this is exactly what I want to do when I return to work. Mind if I ask how you went about asking for it? I'm a bit nervous asking as we are only a small company of 13 people and I'm not sure if me working 3 days a week will have a negative effect on my work and be a pain for my colleagues.

Hello, I was out all weekend enjoying the lovely weather. Yesterday was mostly sat on the common watching the kites for the kite festival, it was lovely and Erin loved looking at the big kites, there were fish and an octopus and cows and butterflies and a dragon and a scuba diver and tonnes of other wonderful kites :)

We also discovered that Erin doesn't like walking on grass with her bare feet, not sure where that has come from but it was a great way of preventing her from running away as she just had to stay on the picnic rug when she didn't have her shoes on!

    Belated Happy Birthday MV.

Giz, I requested reduced hours for my work. I'm quite close to my boss so I just had an informal chat with her then I put a proposal together saying how I would work (I actually work 4 days a week now but get to choose which day I take off). That got sent to HR and my boss and HR had to jointly approve it. It would be good if you could think of a few solutions about them coping with your reduced hours before you go to them. OH had to do it as well as he was requesting a fixed day off (normally they are on a rolling rota and get different days off every week) he had a whole form to fill in saying how it would impact resources etc. how it could be managed and what the downsides or benefits were, it was quite an effort to get filled in and in the end they just granted him a trial period which we are still on now. HTH Goodluck!

My child must be strange - until her hair was long enough to be tied up, I had to always make sure she had a hat even if it wasn't sunny or cold because she didn't like the wind blowing her hair.

Hello ladies....don't think I've officially joined this thread yet but i thought it's about time I delurked. Nice to see some familiar faces from the pregnancy thread.
I'm mum to 15 day old JJ. no major dramas so far but I'm struggling with nites as OH works nites and I'm so tired all the tome. JJ is a good baby and only cries when he needs/wants something it is working out what that is the problem at the mo.

I also think he's constipated, he's not pooed since sat nite and seems to be in distress sometimes. MW came today and suggested cooled boiled water twice a day and to try ready made formula rather than making our own. JJ is a FF baby as I really struggled with BF.

Anyway, that's me....I will continue to lurk and pop in with the most silly questions I'm sure......;) xx

Nice to meet you dustystar. It is tough at first when they're waking for night feeds, but it will pass in time. Just try and rest as much as you can while he is sleeping.

Found work tough today but I managed. I'm supposed to be on the sick for another 1-2 weeks, but can't afford to stop off :o

Been looking around for a new phone and ordered a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Can't wait until it arrives on Wednesday as it looks fantastic.

    Evening everyone :)

My toddler rarely naps in the afternoon anymore, which is fine by me-but he's getting very grumpy and tired by around 4-5pm. I hope this stage passes soon, as I can't get him to nap earlier on but obviously can't let him sleep at 4-5pm!

He's had a fun day playing with his 6 year old cousin, who he loves to bits but he's come home over tired and grumpy lol. My niece was complaining she was tired and for Elliot to go away and let her have a rest! He wears everyone out. He'll keep going till he drops.

    Hope everyone is ok.
