    Morning Delain!

My DD slept 7.5 hours last night :j Is this really a good thing at 7 weeks old? I'm sure she's getting me into a false sense of security then bam she'll wake up every two hours :)

I changed her nappy this morning to find my OH's nappy boo boo. He got it half right, he put her in a totsbots stretchie with the flip wrap over the top, but he used the stretchie like a flip insert and hadn't actually put it on like a nappy! So it was all bunched up between her legs. Fortunately the flip cover was great and there was no poo leakage.

This is what I think too, like when have you started and you seem a bit slow if you wait. Rach was telling me about a women she met in a group who just gave her dd a rusk before 4 months because she just felt like it!

I can understand if you are thinking that they are hungry and draining bottles, maybe it is different if you are bfing and your body just adapts to produce more?

I just didn't rush as enjoyed being the only source of food and he seemed satisfied, but knew at 6 months we should start getting more nutrients into him but still bf too.

Is interesting re all the changes of advice of weaning through my local children's centre I have been given 3 leaflets and they all say something different, no wonder we are all confused.

See I would have given him more milk but he would only bring it up so food was really the only option. I didn't need to take him to the doctors to know he was hungry, I didn't think it he was hungry. However he was for some reason exhausted last night and refused his tea I didn't really push it and he ended up in bed half hour early then up at 3am starving, first time he has woke in the night for ages so I think I'll have to try feeding him earlier or letting him have a little nap before and going to bed a bit later. I think some people are rushing their babies - you see them at baby group but not everyone. Advice as far as I know has been from 6 months since before DD was born 6 years ago but only my middle child lasted that long and he would probably happily live on milk now if I let him - that and cheese sandwiches.

    Morning all...

All this weaning talk is getting me confused....! But as Lo is only 7 weeks, I dont think I need to worry yet :D

Giz - LO sleeps for around 7 hours a night and has done for a week or so now, just the one night she woke me at 4.30am, took 2 oz and went back to sleep.... But I'm like you, ready for it to change at any point....

She's asleep again - seems to sleep a lot??? Maybe just a lazy baby :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm confused too. I'll worry about it later :)

Yeah mine is asleep too. She basically sleeps from 10pm to 3pm except for food and nappy changes. Then from 3pm to 10pm she is wide awake mostly.

I really should be making better use of my time while she's asleep.

Got my Child Tax Credits today. Was quite pleased to be entitled to some, but now I'm not sure if we'll be entitled to any after the 6th April. I really confused by the changes so won't know until I can do the calculator again.

    Good afternoon ladies :)

Good to hear some nice sleeping babies at 7 weeks - gives me hope!

Actually last night I think was the best night we have had. We have started to get into some kind of routine so DD was bathed at 6pm and given a feed, in bed by 7pm, woke her up at 10pm for a feed, back asleep by 10.30pm and then she woke up at 2.30am, so had a feed and then back to sleep until 7am when I woke her for a feed :T

But typical that I'm so used to lack of sleep that I was lying in bed wide awake at 3.30am lol

She's having a nap now so just taking the chance to get some washing on - it's such a feat nowadays to get some basic chores done!

Hope everyone is well and thanks for the welcome :)

    Hi!:)

Daisy still poorly a bit. I'm poorly but a bit better than I was. She thought it would be a great idea to be wide awake at 1.30am and play for a few hours:mad:

She hasn't slept since 3 months old and she's very nearly 7 months:rotfl:(Have to laugh or I'll be crying instead!!;))

Daisy was very ready for food at 4 months... there is absolutely no way we would of got through to 6 months. She eats so well and has a mixture of pureed stuff (which I don't think is any hassle and find easy to do) and finger foods including everything that we eat. I did make sure she had nothing with gluten before 6 months because of my health issues. I weaned because I KNEW she was ready... not because I wanted to do it for fun, anyone else was doing it etc etc. We may try her on deep fried mars bar from the chip van tomorrow night;)

Anyways... little ickle baby pics a possibilty???:):):)

sammy that's a great night, hope it carrys on like that so you can get used to it. Bob did 3 hourly when he was little but pretty much only woke to feed for about 8 weeks.

smartie glad I'm not the only one - it was not through choice - I'd of choosen for a baby who was completely satisfied with milk but that was not to be.

Just had a phone call about a St Johns Ambulance session at my surestart center. It's free to attend and it's this saturday.

Anyone been on one? I've done first aid courses about 15 years ago when I was a girl guide! I guess it's also another opportunity to meet other mums...argh but I'm getting so worked up at the thought of going! Wish I was just more outgoing and didn't care about doing new things and going to new places with new people.

I did our local equivalent gizmodo, it was very interesting and quite useful. I didn't do it till the monster was about 14 months old and wished I'd gone sooner :o

Well done to giz and sjp for sleeping babies, t didn't go through till over 4 months but is pretty good now at 7 months - usually goes from 8 till 7/7:30 (we have had some nights of wake ups though, I'm grateful for every night I get!)

I guess with weaning mum/dad do know best and as he was satisfied I was quite content to wait then I could go straight to finger foods which I preferred. I think the current recommrndation is milk solely till 6 months unless they show signs like smartie and merfe mentioned then can start at 17 weeks. I guess it what fits with u and your lo.
