Good on you Merfe. It would be rude not to go to Ireland if you already have the dress
OMG DD is just not sleeping today. All week she has virtually slept till 3pm except for nappy changes and feeds. And today she has been awake since 8am except for when she slept in the pram on the way to the baby group. So about an hour so far. I'm fearing she is getting over tired now...hoping she will drop off soon then I can get the dinner prepped.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Hi all
Becles - Hope the op goes ok tomorrow....
Merfe - I'm jealous, i'd love to go to Ireland....
Giz - Everyone is right about the 6 week check, he asked how I was feeling, about contraception and took my blood pressure... He did have a 'press' on my lower tummy, but think his was cos I had a manual removal, but then said everything was normal.... He did check LO over really well, which i'm happy about.....
Only thing he did say was that I need to be careful with the sit ups in the early days, due to still having slight pain when I sit up....
I've still got this stinking cold, its really getting me down now, can't even be bothered to get dressed as I feel so crap..... Doc never said anything about it, just asked if I wanted iron tablets??? My head is killing me though - I could cry.....Challenges - repay all credit cards by end of 2015Starting the savings for retirement :rotfl:

Thanks Ladies,
William is fine now, so obviously was just tired. The dentist was fine, they didn't take the tooth out as they suggested, just a nice and quick filling, painless as well which is fab
Hope you are all well?
Thanks for the info on baby groups, i really should make myself go to one, but tomorrow William is off the Childminders for a whole day!!!!!!Leopardlady

madness and mayhem thanks I thought it might be something like that but I still think its wrong. Just want to know what to budget. I have 3 altogether. It went from £20 per month to £230 when I had Bob and I thought it'd drop right back down again but the award notice I have says next year will be £146 so that's not too bad. I'd love it if the entitled to website was right though it said £290 per month wow, would certainly help when I get to my unpaid leave.
I was looking to try and work out what we would get once baby is here and when i'm on maternity leave as when i'm on maternity leave it makes our joint income drop below £25k which, from what i've seen before is when it seems to make a big difference to how much you get. I filled in the form 'theoretically' as if i had the baby this year etc and if that was the case, we would get about £110 per week!!!!! well, so the site said anyway-not that I would be complaining if that was the case :rotfl: But i'm not convinced that was right anyway, as it seemed like an awful lot, but that was worked out with the baby element, so i can't really count on it anyway. The way I look at it, I won't be getting less than i do now so the rest is a (much needed!) bonus!0 -

yep I never expected it to go up so high so when it did it was a complete bonus now 4 months later I'm completely used to it and not looking forward to the drop. It may be the 25k thing that makes the difference then. OH gets 23000 salary but did loads of overtime the year before so we are over the 25k on just his wage but this year he has done alot less overtime and had to take unpaid leave when I was ill so it'll probably all get adjusted at the annual review. I don't want them paying us too much next year though because he'll probably be back to working loads of overtime again - it only messes up the year after and we'll be back to £20 a month.0 -
Well after all this discussion on tax credits, and it looks like we should be entitled to some for the period from 15th Nov 2010 t0 4th april, and it would be a nice little bonus if this is true. I will try and speak to an advisor tomorrow, so thank you very much. We were not expecting anything, but the current reduction in my pay is making life a little difficult, although this is only for one more month.Leopardlady

Hello,
Can I join you lovely ladies
My DD, Esme, was born on 19 March and is currently 10 days old. We're both still adjusting to our new lives - but loving it. I had a bit of a drama last week, when at the 5 day check she had lost 18% of her birth weight
Good news is that she was weighed for the third time today and she is just a few oz short of her birth weight now. But this is largely due to having to top her up with formula. So we are now combination feeding whilst we continue to work on our BF'ing - we have our good days and bad days, so any advice is welcome.
I hope everyone and kiddies are all well x0 -
Evening all.
The under 1 baby element is only around £520/yr, so it's luckily not a huge drop after the baby turns 1. In fact, we didn't even notice b/c just before Finn turned 1, I went back to work and so we had childcare element added in.
Hope everyone is remembering to deduct £100/wk for maternity leave! You can either self-calculate or tell TCs you're on mat leave.
Becles, good luck on your op, hon.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

Hi Sammy, welcome! Can you say more about the bfing issues? there are some really experienced people here. I went through loads with ds but cracked it in the end thanks to lots of help. Have you had her checked for tongue tie as ds had one and it was missed by loads of midwives including specialist infant feeding ones, was picked up by a specialist bf counsellor in the end and diagnosed by a lactation consultant.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
