I had various complications when I was pregnant with Charlotte. At my 6 week check the doctor asked if I was feeling ok, asked about contraception, and that was it! I was expecting to be checked out properly this time, but it was over within minutes. Here I go again on my own....0

My 6 week check isn't till 4th April
That's over 8 weeks. I was just googling to see if I could start doing sit ups but everywhere recommends waiting for the 6 week check.
...
You can check your stomach muscles yourself, just lie down on your back then do half a sit up but with your fingers down the middle of your tummy below your tummy button. If you feel a gap then the muscles haven't joined back up yet and you shouldn't do sit ups as you can cause a hernia. At least that is what I was told but I could never tell if there was a gap or not!
Hi Feelie!! How are you, do I remember correctly that you have a second one on the way? Or maybe you've had it by now?? I'm glad to see you back
Well, we've spent the weekend (Sat - Mon as OH and I had today off) spring cleaning, mostly done now although we didn't get round to cleaning the wardrobes in the bedroom, however I now have tonsillitis for the second time this year so maybe I shouldn't have done quite so much.

I didn't have a 6 week check after Squeak really but I was in and out of hospital for varying reasons and seeing my GP every 5 minutes then anyway, seemed a bit silly to make an extra appointment. Did have a chat about contraception with the doctor though but for other reasons, so I suppose that ticked that box.
I hope everyone is well
Straightened my hair today and didn't tie it up, and loads of people remarked on it. I must usually look pretty crap if me having half presentable hair is worth commenting on
Squeak has a cold and is not a happy bunny.

Aless, I just saw your post on facebook about us meeting up but I can't read it because of the script error thing. Can you let me know when you decide on a date. Thanks

The gap is perfectly normal and doesn't ever actually stick itself back together. Mine are not attached at all.. the 2 sections of muscle are attached at the top near my ribs, but other than that are not attached at all.. despite being stitched in place..
It is fine to do abdo exercises from about 6 weeks.. even after a section.. just be careful and sensible and build it up gradually.
I've not had a 6 week check after my younger 7.. and not died.. Though they do want to do a smear if you haven't had one for a whileLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I think with our 6 week check it was more of a check on Izzy. She asked how i was and asked about contraception, but didn't even give me a leaflet, as I was sure at that point that I wasn't going to need to worry about it for a while!
I think we are a bit confused about the clocks changing here. Izzy was absolutely wiped out after nursery, and fell asleep on my lap, but had a massive temper when I tried to get her to bed "not bedtime yet".... She ended up going to sleep on the floor! Having a two year old is getting far more noisy recently!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Morning
I think Charlotte is a bit confused about the clocks too. She's just crashing after tea and has been going to bed about half an hour earlier as she's shattered!
Think it's a combination of the clocks and the nice weather so they're playing out a lot more at nursery.
Off to hospital this afternoon for my pre-operation check up. Not too worried about it as I'm reasonably healthy and can't think of any reason why I can't have the op.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -

No one mentioned the smear to me either until another doc at my actual contraception appointment was trying to get me to have a iud and said its just like a smear and then I said I'd never had one - I do plan to book one but currently constantly spotting - stupid pills.
The kids in this house are not at all confused by the change of clocks but I am - I think because my watch has also broke so I have no idea what time it is and was rushing everyone to eat their breakfast and get ready for school cos we were late at 6:30 this morning - once I realised it was 7:30 like I thought I relaxed a bit - phew.
I tried the entitled to website last night - want to know what tax credit will be next year when there is no baby under 1 element but they say we should be getting more than we are at the moment which doesn't work out. I think I might ring them up just to make sure we are getting the right amount at the moment.0
