    Morning all

    Hope we're all well?

Not had chance to post on here this last week, i've had a bad cold so been feeling really down - didn't want to bother you all with it....

Got my 6 week check today, so hoping to get the go ahead to start running and training again, hopefully that will give me a kick up the bum to lose the jelly belly and stop eating rubbish....

Weather is looking gorgeous out today, so a walk down to the park is on the cards for later - i've promised my boss i'd help him out with month end today, so gonna have to sit in front of laptop most of morning..... Luckily grandad came for Immy Lou to take her to town with him :T Grandparents can be a godsend (well, most of the time!) :p

Happy Monday all - i'll pop back later, but really need to keep off MSE & FB this morning.... :rotfl:

Hello everyone :) hello Feelie :)

We're back from our UK trip and I'm not even going to attempt to catch up because not only am I ferociously busy, I'm also sick :( Horrible DH managed to get a nasty cold and then pass it on, hmph.

Hope everyone's well and all babies, toddlers, littluns and bigguns are well behaved and lovely. Miss M is mostly wonderful although her discovery of tantrums has led to a tedious amount of practice. In better news, the judge has changed her mind about requiring me to be in court on the deposit-stealing landlord's court date on receipt of further information (which gives me a slight advantage) and we saw a house we really like so now have to decide if we want to move to the city it's in.

My 6 week check isn't till 4th April :( That's over 8 weeks. I was just googling to see if I could start doing sit ups but everywhere recommends waiting for the 6 week check.

I've been walking and did some gardening yesterday. I weighed myself and I'm 2lb heavier than the heaviest I've ever been, so that's made me feel better. Mum said my belly has gone down more so I tried my 12 week pregnant jeans on and they do up! Have a bit of a muffin top though :o

Looks like the sun is coming out again so I think I will walk to the postbox and then do more gardening when I get back - DD can sleep in the pram while I do it.

Seems like everyone is ill :( I'm getting over my cold now - just coughing lots at night which is annoying. DD doesn't seem to mind though. OH is getting fed up of me.

Hi all, thanks for the support, William is feeling much better today, although he has quite a good cough left! He was awful all weekend, but seems to have cracked it :) I am also pretty much over the cold, not just to get OH over it quickly so we don't all catch it back again.

I have written my request to HR today, talking about my return to work, i am not looking forward to it, although i would love some time to be me again, and William is loving his time with the child minder so i know he will enjoy it too, just i will miss sooo much of his development. I wanted to wait until he was a lot older but we can not afford it, so 3rd May it is. I am requesting to take 2 days leave a week for 10 weeks which would make it all a lot easier (not the work, but home life :) ) Lets see what they have to say about it, sent the letter in this morning, hoping to have a meeting on Wednesday afternoon as William is going to spend his first full day with the child minder!!!

Hope you are all well and getting over these pesky colds, and ready for a new week, British summer time is here :)

    ...

tbh I wouldn't bother waiting for the check assuming you had a 'normal' delivery? they don't check your stomach muscles then anyway.
Have the MWs checked your tummy at all? mine did and said they were back together by day 10:)

giz at my check all the doctor did was ask if I was ok then talk about contraception and checked Bob, I was already exercising what felt comfortable but not sit up because of the c-section, can do them now though - I couldn't do lunges either because it hurt - I didn't even realise these used the stomach muscles.

Leopard I'm always thinking about the return to work, I wish I could put it off. My maternity pay is 90% for the 9 months because I'm p/t but it finishes at the end of july and I really want to have the summer off. Now OH works nights so my hours have to change too, I used to do 6-11pm - I am not looking forward to working when the kids are awake, esp during school hols. I'm probably going to be doing tues, wed, thurs fri 10-2 but having to argue not working a weekend day - it is in the contract that you work either sat or sunday.

I want to do this too. I have 22 days holiday to use when I go back and I'm hoping they'll let me take 2 days a week for 11 weeks. I think it will help ease into the whole juggling work home and baby thing. Will also save some money on childcare in the early days as we'll only have 2 days to have to sort out and my mum might look after DD for those.

I had a normal delivery - but complications afterward. Lots of bleeding then 3 weeks ago another heavy bleed which led to a ERPC.

I've had tonnes of midwives and doctors check my uterus, but nothing about my muscles.

Sounds like the 6 week check is a waste of time then. As I'm 7 weeks post partum now I'll try doing some gentle crunches today and see how I feel.

I've been quite productive today and posted my census and done more weeding (hate the bugs out there - some really gross spiders).

DD will want changing and feeding anytime, so in my next break I will aim to either continue tidying the nursery, cross stitch or finish a stupid survey that I've been putting off.

    Good afternoon :wave.

We've been away for the weekend, was lovely. Now I have a ton of washing to do! Thankfully, it is a lovely sunny day here.

Giz- my 6 wk check just was a chat about contraception and then they checked my blood pressure.

LeopardLady - glad William is on the mend (and you too :D).

    Sugarspun - get better soon.

I am back at work in 5 weeks :( - I have 20 hours of annual leave to use but work want me to use it all in my first month back so I'll be working shorter weeks for May.
I'm dreading trying to juggle the summer school holiday though.

Oh, and I won on the Euromillions :D:D:D 2 numbers and 2 stars got me a measly £10.10.
  • Hi Everyone! Hi Feelie, wow it is you! You have missed all kinds of drama. I'm glad to see you back.

Have been very busy here. Had our first viewing on our flat today. Not that there is any great rush, as nothing else out there for us at the mo now we lost the one we wanted, but still!

My tummy muscles didn't get checked either at the 6 week check! It was just a few Q's about PND & contraception. Maybe since you had complications, though, your doctor will be more thorough.
