Hi all, haven't managed to get on for a while, where does the time go?!
LO's doing ok, we were away overnight at a wedding this weekend and he did really well. Trying to get back into routine a bit this week as he is so much better when things are relatively the same each day. Last night he slept 7-7 with only a feed at 11.30 and then needed his dummy back in about 12.30. He did wake at 6 but settled watching his mobile. This is a good night for us!! He's doing well with solids (self feeding/baby led weaning) but seems a bit constipated sometimes, which makes him grumpy - is this normal? He is having baby pporridge at night i wondered if it could be that?
I am also dreading going back to work. I don't actually have a job to go back to but dh is nagging me and going on and on about us having no money etc. I have managed to get a few days consultancy which will help and it's a decent daily rate so hope there's more where that came from if I do a good job. That won't be til May though. I was due to go back early july after holiday used up but my contract ends then and they're not renewing it.
Am meeting up with sir monster this aft (this is a pretty much daily occurance lol) and before that need to try and express some milk again and do more laundry! I also need to hunt down some size 2 nappies online as LO's growing out of his size 1s very fast!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
morning all
hope it goes ok at the hospital becles x
No one mentioned the smear to me either until another doc at my actual contraception appointment was trying to get me to have a iud and said its just like a smear and then I said I'd never had one - I do plan to book one but currently constantly spotting - stupid pills.
The kids in this house are not at all confused by the change of clocks but I am - I think because my watch has also broke so I have no idea what time it is and was rushing everyone to eat their breakfast and get ready for school cos we were late at 6:30 this morning - once I realised it was 7:30 like I thought I relaxed a bit - phew.
I tried the entitled to website last night - want to know what tax credit will be next year when there is no baby under 1 element but they say we should be getting more than we are at the moment which doesn't work out. I think I might ring them up just to make sure we are getting the right amount at the moment.
hi,
From what I understand with the tax credits is, the under 1 element has gone, but the normal child element is going up, so if you already have children you *should* get more for them and then the amount for baby is only a little less than what it would be, so with the extra for any other children should make you better off-if that makes any sense at all???
I'm 32 weeks pregnant with baby 3 and wanted to see roughly what we would get when baby is here, but it doesn't work it out for next year on the tax credit site, so will have to wait till start of new tax year!0 -
Hi Guys, William seems so much better, but then i put him down for a nap at 9 and he fell asleep at 9.15, but now he is still asleep, but grumbling and crying. It seems like he thinks it is night time again?? Or is he still ill? He was due a feed at 11, but when i went up i could not rouse him, except to scream, but not open his eyes? Any ideas? Granny is coming very soon, and then i am off to have a wisdom tooth removed at the dentist! Oh well let sleeping babies lie?Leopardlady

Susan whenever anyone has asked I've always said yep I keep meaning to book it which is true and they just leave it at that - I've been sent the odd reminder but it tends to get put to the bottom of a long list of things to do. I do feel I really should get it done but it was so hard to organise a child free time before, now OH is on nights he is here during the day so just have to wait for the spotting to stop.
leopard Bob can sleep for england - he has his 12 hours at night with the odd stirring, then on sunday had 9-12 (he normally feeds at 10:30), then 1:30 till 3:30 -It was a strange day. Most mornings he just sleeps on the school run then has 2-3 hours nap between 11 and 3ish, if he has it earlier he sometimes has 30 mins on his playmat in the evening but if he has it late and isn't up till 3 he can normally stay up till bedtime. If I try to get him up before he is ready he screams at me - he can also cry in his sleep, he is grumpy. Oh and good luck at the dentists x
madness and mayhem thanks I thought it might be something like that but I still think its wrong. Just want to know what to budget. I have 3 altogether. It went from £20 per month to £230 when I had Bob and I thought it'd drop right back down again but the award notice I have says next year will be £146 so that's not too bad. I'd love it if the entitled to website was right though it said £290 per month wow, would certainly help when I get to my unpaid leave.0 -

It has been a long, long time, but I thought it was about time I came back and said hello! I don't know how many will remember me, but I did want to stop back in and say Hi.
Main reason for me posting, I wanted to apologise for causing so much upset before I left. I was in a bad place, and I didn't post with enough kindness/tact and I'm sorry.
Hope everyone is well, what have I missed in the past year?
Hello! I have been thinking about you, just by chance i opened my notifications and saw that you had replied to this thread. How are you? Hope you and the little one are well. xxMommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -
Becles I hope your op goes well. Is it on Thursday?
Yes it's on Thursday.
Will find out all the times and stuff this afternoon, but hopefully in first thing in the morning and back out late afternoon.
Hope the dentist goes ok leopardlily.
Get the smear done if you can Merfe. I had an abnormal one and had to have a biopsy. It wasn't cancer but they said the abnormal cells were higher risk of developing cancer than the normal ones, so they froze them off. I had no symptoms and had no idea anything was wrong. Here I go again on my own....0 -
They wouldn't do my smear at the postnatal check - had to wait a few more weeks and then make an appointment. All done now though
I am trying to juggle mine and OH's annual leave to make it stretch over all the school holidays. Only problem is we then won't have any time off together. Looks like a few weekends away rather than a weeks holiday this summer0 -
Afternoon, hope everyone is having good days.
I went to the mum and baby group this morning. It was OK actually. You guys were making me think it'd be horrible and full of mums saying "well my baby can do this..." etc. But it was good to be able to share so many common feelings...nice to know I wasn't the only one who wanted to hand my DD back in the first 2 weeks!
I was so shy though, I did talk, but not as much as other people. Hopefully I'll be a bit better next week.
I'm thinking of going to another group that is on Thursday as one of the girls goes, so could be an opportunity to get to know her a bit more. And there's also a 'rhymetime' group at the library.
Ooh and I actually walked to the group today! Now don't laugh but for me who relies on her car this was a huge achievement. It was a half hour walk in the rain...got to use my rain cover for the buggy
And I breastfed at the group - my first proper public feed. I did expose myself though...I'm just rubbish at doing it discreetly.
So a good day for me. Planning on finishing stupid questionnaire today and do more in the nursery.
Oh and DD is smiling more and more - I love it. Makes everything worthwhile doesn't it?Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
you were probably more discrete than you realise giz, noones really looking. There was a 3 week old baby at ours on monday - so cute, really gorgeous and tiny. I think she knew some of the organisers. I really love going giz just wish I'd found such a good group with DD and DS cause they were all rubbish. I think it's because its baby group not toddler group so they are all similar ages which is nice.
becles I will, I really will I promise x
I've booked to go to ireland - thought sod it, we never get away. Probably be paying for it forever but oh well. I hope my other cousins don't get married anytime soon cause can't afford to go again. I remembered some money I had in topcashback I was saving up, only £100 but it helps and I've a few things on ebay at the minute, just need to list another 100 items and that'll pay for it. It only has to pay the accomodation since I was planning to pay for our ferry and spending money etc already. I've bought a dress so I have to go.0
