Becles, she is just so funny in what she says.
Henry announced on Monday that he wanted a big boy pillow like Daddy's, so we bought him one yesterday and then he moaned when it was on his bed!!!Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Thank you so much for all your thoughts
My little boy was admitted to hospital on Monday night after going back to the GP, has had Gastroenteritis bless him.
We were able to come home later in the night and he has really picked up, playing as normal, eating and drinking better.
I'm sorry I have just jumped on to you in a bit of a random way, but I have read the trying to conceive 12 months + thread for 2 years but never posted.
My little one is an IVF baby and I learnt everything I needed to know from those ladies and felt like I went through their journeys as well as mine, we never told anybody that we were having IVF so it was nice to have the support even though they didn't know they were giving it to me.
So thank you to the ladies over thereand thanks to you guys too. x

becles charlotte is funny bless her. My older 2 were discussing having children on the way to school this morning and DD is going to have 4 but DS is having none, he said he can't have any because he isn't a mum. He used to believe that mums had girls and Dads had the boys but he knows the truth now. I told him he could be a dad but he said he is still having none. They also picked out the houses they wanted to live in when they are older - right next door to each other. DS particular concern in chosing the right house was that it had a knocker not a door bell lol.
Sprinkly, that is great that he is on the mend x
Does anyone not have stairgates?
I wasn't planning on getting any this time. In our old house the gate went across the hallway just outside the lounge so the kitchen and stairs were shut off but here its open planned. One of the school mums said to get one of the big playpen gates but I don't really wanna shut him in the lounge when I'm in the kitchen.0 -
Sprinkly :Hugs, glad your little one is better now. I've been a lurker for a couple of years too and also have learnt a lot reading these threads. a BIG thanks to all that contribute. I'm not a regular poster but a daily lurker so am glad of those that post.(that sounds a bit ).
Just wanted to pop in to share that Tigger is teething  Last week we found a small freckle sized white dot on his gums post the major onslaught of drool and 'old man with gummy sweet' look he kept on giving us. Feels so soon already!0 -
The daily lurker bit sounded hmm I meant.0

That's lovelyI'm sure they would like it if you popped in and posted to let them know how much they helped and wish them luck
I'm glad he's feeling better now
Oh and there's no need at all to say sorry for posting, we all loie hearing about the little people and their milestones and the funny things they say (though I think Becles' charlotte wins the award for that one!)
Re: introduction of solids: none of mine have sat unaided until late, way way after they started on solids and they are all still alive
I think at the end of the day, if you think your baby is ready, that is good enough, really. You know them much better than the health visitor does and a lot of them are just out to tick boxesMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Ladies: If babies don't like going on their front for tummy time, how are they ever going to learn to crawl or turn over?
Tigger hates tummy time and tends to puke a bit whenever we try to put him on his front for this.:(
How can we encourage him to like/tolerate it a bit more? He's getting a flat head from all the sleep and play time he spends on his back.0 -
I wouldn't force it too much if he doesn't lke it, maybe just a minute or two but he can do other play that isn't laying on his back. IE on your knee, sat between your legs (I mean in a V so baby is sat up and your legs support him), in a door bouncer or jumperoo. These can be for short periods too just to give his head a bit of a break. They will still roll over they'll just do it and then cry cos they don't like it lol. Bob is so lazy he can hold things now but would rather lay there and be entertained - the problem of having older ones he can watch most the time is when they are at school I have to do it. I love playing with Bob though its way more fun than the housework and so what if I don't sweep today when I do it tomorrow I'll get all of todays dust as well. He is sleeping at the mo - seems like quite a happy chap today which makes a nice change.0

DD2 was the same up until very recently (she's 5 1/2 mths), she hated being on her front and would only stand it for a minute or 2. Then she learnt to roll on to her front, and also hated that! Now when she is on her front she will play happily for 10 mins or so before getting fed up.
I used to lay her across my knee or if I was laid on the sofa I'd lay her on my chest and she'd have a bit of tummy time that way.0 -

Hello, Haven't been on for a while but life is plodding along nicely
I'm not saying anything but congratulations pigpen!
Erin hated tummy time however I carried her the sling lots and that is supposed to be just as good for the tummy/back muscles or whatever. Anyway, when she eventually started rolling and crawling she wasn't behind at all compared to others. Have you tried putting him on his slide for naps? Erin had a period of only sleeping on her side.Mum to DD born Oct 2009
