Hope you managed to see the doctor and get him sorted out sprinkly. Hope he feels better soon xx

Had my scan and it wasn't too bad. The machine is just like a huge Polo with a bed through the middle. I just had to lay flat and still and the moved me in and out of the hole while the machine made clanking and whizzy noises. It wasn't horrible or painful or anything.

They'll send the images to my consultant and she'll discuss it with me next week.

Jack is happy now that Charlotte is back home.

He had four coco-pops stuck on his ear but neither of the boys know anything about it - hmmmmm :rotfl:

You are brave - I had an MRI scan that was meant to last an hour and I freaked out after 5 minutes :o

I thought I might freak but the room was quite big and bright so it didn't feel as claustrophobic as I thought it might.

I had my hair fastened back with a metal clip and had to take that out as she said the metal would affect the scan. The radiographer was more worried that she'd messed my hair up than anything else :rotfl:

Maybe it was because they wanted to scan my brain (I don't know what your scan was for!) but they put a plastic cage over my nec and chin and another one over my forehead and wheeled me all the way in to the tube all I could see was the inside of the polo

It was for sinuses and nasal passages. I just had sort of half a helmet to rest my head in and keep it still, but no cages or anything like that. I could have lifted my head up if I'd wanted to.

It only took about five minutes as well.

I think I would have freaked if they put cages on me or pinned me down, and I was really nervous before as I thought it was one of them ones where your whole body goes in a little tunnel inside a huge machine :o

Yeah that was the one I had :(

They did my brain and my spine so it was really claustrophobic and at points only my shins and feet were poking out, and they had to strap my legs down after my freak out as well because I had no control over the right one and it slipped off the tiny platform I was laying on

In the end they scrapped the huge 1 - 1.5 hour scan and I had a much more basic 12 minute one because I'm officially an MRI wuss lol.

I'm glad yours was OK, and I hope you get the results you want :)

Oh I've never seen a CT readout but the inside of the head is a weird place _pale_ they showed me my pictures I looked like I should be in Mars Attacks :rotfl:

My 8 y/o and my 15 y/o both had MRI's shortly after their 8th birthday.. to check the pituitary gland and other bits and bobs.. took about 20 minutes each and they both laid there like statues and were amazing by all accounts.. DS2 went in on his own and DD4 took my OH and they were both fantastic and brave..

    Morning

Been looking at head CT pictures on the net delain and it does look weird! I'm going to ask for a look at mine next week if she's got time to show me.

I don't think I would have liked the MRI scan that you had. I think I'd have had a panic attack :o

Off to work this morning with loads to do again. Hope everyone has a good day xx

Morning ladies, we are back from our road trip. William was a star, couple of stops, all planned, played, stretched, fed and changed and then back in the car. Edinburgh was great, then Manchester for a night and back last night. Then just to make his life a little more hard, he had his 16 week jabs this morning :)
Luckily we have daddy home today so we have had a walk and now William is playing on the mat.

Hope everyone else is ok sun is out here, so that is lovely. Thanks for all your advice before our trip :)
