Squeak seems to sleep better on her side just lately, OH will put her to bed on her side if she's been unsettled.

She hated being on her tummy as well and I seemed to spend ages rolling her back, but now because she had to she's learnt to roll back, so now she rolls herself all about the living room, the other day I went to the loo, leaving her on her big blanket, and she had rolled all the was across the blanket and carpet (which had been hoovered btw) and was chewing a chair leg

Shame you'd hoovered, you could have covered her in sticky tape and used her like a bit lint roller...

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Merfe, I'm actually getting one of the jumperoos pretty soon. Hoping he'll like it.
Jennynoo, he hates side ways even more which really didn't help with my struggle with Bfeeding at the start (he's now ffed) I have to wait till he's asleep before i tilt him a bit for his naps.
Glad to hear they will not be too impeded by not having that much tummy time then. I do hold him when I can but he likes lying down instead of being sat on my knee etc which doesn't help my cause. Thanks for the comments everyone.
Hopefully it's just a stage he outgrows or out-rolls when he's a bit older :p

    Hi all

Not been on for a couple of days, good to see this thread doesn't move as fast as the pregnancy one :p used to take me ages to catch up on there!!

    Hope you're all well?

Sparkly - Glad your Lo is feeling better....

Becles - Charlotte sounds like a little love..... :rotfl:

Well, had a bad day with bubs yesterday, she cried everytime I put her down and wouldn't go to sleep, she did nothing but eat too.... seems much better today and she even been on her play gym for half hour this morning....

It must be boring being a month old though ;) think I need to have a look for something to entertain her?

BTW does anyone keep bubs in a sling in the house, so that they can get on with other things? if so could you recommend any?

Must have been the day for it yesterday SJP... J was quite disagreeable all morning and C was a real madame at every opportunity... I had me a little cry while they both whinged at me... But we all seem to be a lot cheerier today... ;)

I carried A around in a sling a lot when she was a baby, she didn't like to be put down and seeing as I was on my own with her, it saved me a lot of arm ache... I did get a sling for C but she wasn't too keen... I have a baby hawk mei tei... I love it... She didn't lol... I haven't tried J in it yet because she broke my back while I was pregnant and I still feel like I've been kicked in the stomach since she arrived... But I'm sure I'll dig it out sooner or later...

Just taken the new double pushchair out... Considering it's a small double... It weighs an absolute ton! I'm going to have biceps like popeye by the time I'm back to a single!

I used to use the sling all the time in the house especially while cooking but then Erin got big enough that she could start grabbing things off the counters so then I tried carrying her on my back but it's really hard to get things out of her hands when she is on my back! I used to do cleaning as well with her in it before she could walk. My sister could clean and feed at the same time but I never got the hang of that! I still use slings for trips out but can't carry her for more than an hour now.

I've got 5 (or 6 slings) got a babasling to start with but didn't realise until later that it was way too big for me! OH liked it though. So then I started using wraps and now that's all I use (tried a ring sling but didn't get on with that much). Wraps are great because they fit any size - totally adjustable and once you get the hang of it you can try lots of different ways of tying so you find the best for you and your baby ie Erin is a bit of a wriggler and leans back so I like to use a double hammock when she is on my back so she is totally secure. When she was small I had a stretchy one (good for easy of use) but now, as Erin is heavier and needs more support, I have a Storch wrap which is a woven one and I love it. I also have a gauze wrap which is more light weight and better in hot weather. Let me know if you want more info :)

  • Jade have you tried a little cushion for tummy time? I put my baby on a little u-shaped cushion at the children's centre and he liked it much better so have improvised with a rolled-up towel at home!
