Thanks Giz - I've heard that suggestion, but as you say not too much sunlight to be had at the mo and also we have building work going on behind our house and lots of dust in the air so not conducive to putting any washing in the yard.
Glad things are settling down with the bleeding and you are getting the rest you need in hospital, I'm discovering recovery from labour is far from a straight road.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Make it 3 there is a thread about throwing away baby clothes if they are poo stained and loads of suggestions on there, I think soaking in napisan is a favourite and sun bleaching. I've thrown out loads of stained baby clothes but more from weaning food stains than poo stains.
Bob is not well, we all have colds but he done about 3-4 poos today and is normally only one a day, then when I was taking DS up to bed Bob threw up all over his mattress. I'm so glad I was there because he sleeps on his front, he can lift his head up and I would have heard him crying but I got to him quicker and before he cried - I think he was shocked by it. Changed all his bedding and he has gone back to sleep but I don't suppose it will be a good night tonight.
Oh and I have finally won a jumperoo £40 so not too bad. I had hoped not to pay more than £35 but after a few trys I don't think any were gonna go for that price or by the time one did Bob would be too old for it. It matches his playmat too so thats good.0 -

make it 3 - I have a friend who swears by putting washing up liquid on stains... no idea if it would work on poo, as I've only tried it myself since I found out about it. But it works really well on all the things I've tried it for - seems to be best if you put it on straight away rather than using on dried in stains once they've been through the wash already, but even then it still makes a bit of difference. Might be worth a try.

Afternoon all, well anyone who is around. Is there anyone who can help with poo stains?? DD only goes every few days but when she does she explodes everywhere. Her poo is orange (think Indian tikka) and despite trying hot washes, stain remover and overnight soaking lots of her vests, suits are ruined. Is there anything I can do to rescue them, or at least stop her other clothes going the same way next time it happens?
There's a Vanish spray on which removes just about anything. It's a trigger spray.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I used to pre wash with a vanish stick but now I've found the Ariel stain remover spray which works great and no scrubbing, just spray, wait 10 minutes then wash in the washing machine as usual. (The spray version seems best although my Sainsbury's sell everything but the spray so I have to get it elsewhere *confused smilie*)Mum to DD born Oct 2009

I used wash the thick of the poo off by hand, then spray the item with Shout spray. It said only leave it for a few minutes, but I used to leave it for about half an hour, then put the stuff in a normal wash and that usually shifted it. I've also used bio-washing powder all the time, as bio lifts stains much better than non-bio (that was my biology GCSE project
)
Had WW3 here today. Some girl has been horrid to Josh by saying she'd go out with him, then taking the mickey out of him behind his back and then telling him she had no intention of going out with him. He's been upset, so James has been winding him up deliberately to make him react. Was glad when they went to bedHere I go again on my own....0 -
We use sunshine for our stains...I know there's no sun at the moment - doesn't even have to be outside, just a sunny windowsill or ledge will do! I have always washed in bio as well, as we don't even have non-bio in the USA so I figure it's all a marketing ploy
. Napisan is good for getting rid of stinky clothes.
Morning, still feeling a bit queasy, wish it would all go away! Doesn't make for a very nice Monday, really not in the mood to go back to work.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

I use bio too and never had any real problems with the poo stains. However I did just chuck out bobs vest this morning because its not worth the hassle, was an old vest left over from DD and DS and bob has had at least 2 7 pack of vest given to us. If it had been a new one I'd have soaked it then just chucked it in the wash and I'm sure it would have been fine.
He seems so much better this morning. Didn't wake till 6am so that wasn't too bad.And his poo this morning was solid unlike yesterdays 3 runny poos so hopefully it was just a 24 hour thing. His sick was gross and really mucusy so I think it was the cold that did it. He is currently sat content in his pushchair waiting to leave for the school run - its his happiest place strange baby.
ah becles poor josh - girls can be so cruel, I really don't see why they would think that is funny.0 -
can't vouch for it but i've seen recommendations of sunlight bleaching poo stained nappies...not much sun at the mo tho.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
