morning. i got about 4 hours sleep last night. dd was very good, except she projectile vomited her 7am feed. had to get mw in to change my bed :o and dd has no spare clothes till oh comes in. and i'm back to wearing yesterdays clothes. amazing how vomit just gets everywhere.

i'm on anti bs drip. still waiting to find out how long i have to stay in for. sounds like the erpc is going ahead monday.

hungry - i had hv round yesterday and she's given some tips for us to try. one is maybe dd doesn't like the silent bedroom so put a ticking clock in.

Jenny, our signing efforts with Finn have mostly been a failure! I'm not sure if maybe I wasn't consistent enough for what...the only one he ever picked up on is 'milk', even though I would do 'eat' and 'drink' at him every day. Oh well, lessons learned hopefully for the next one! Also, your link reminded me of this: 7 Alternatives to Telling Your Child "Good Job!" (it's also definitely worth reading the original article linked in footnote 1). That sort of parenting theory isn't for everyone, but it's an ethos that we are definitely trying to follow..

Giz, it took us ages and ages to get Finn to settle at nights, sometimes it's just a matter of trying different things until something clicks. Swaddling worked well for us (he hated mobiles/light shows), as flinging arms were keeping him awake. We also did some Baby Whisperer shh-pat for a while (you can find the info free on the website's forums if you don't want to pay for books), which helped. To be honest, eventually we just had to do controlled crying when he was 7 months, but not all babies are that bad!! We also used a white noise machine with him, which was good too.

Anyway, morning all! Had the worst D&V 24-hr bug yesterday, could barely walk to the bathroom. It's mostly subsided and I've actually managed to nibble on some cream crackers, so thankfully the worst is over. With spectacularly BAD timing though, Finn decided to start screaming at 1am last night and refuse to go back to sleep...he was hysterical, it was so bizarre. Still don't know what was wrong, but thankfully he's just gone down for a nap, poor guy was exhausted. DH has been a star and looking after him & me, so I can't be more grateful. Still feel pretty fragile, but a million times better than yesterday.

Well just tried DD with 'grown up' cereal and she just spat it back at me. Gave her some toast instead and she just chucked it on the floor so no real breakfast for her oday, just some of her milk. I can't force her to eact now can I?

Hope everyone has a good day - rainy forecast here for most of the day so trip to the shops in the car I think.

    Regards

Hope you get some clean clothes soon, and get everything sorted out so you can go home.

We often have Radio 4 on at night on a 60min timer. It helps me get to sleep, so I wonder if it helps DS too. Just a bit of background murmer so he doesn't feel on his own.

Just keep trying. It can take a few goes before they decide to like new tastes and textures.

The baby cereals are really sweet, so it will have probably been a shock this morning!

Amber does a few signs that she has seen us use with Chris. Mostly it's 'more' which she uses mainly for 'More Food Now!' or just 'Food'. 'Where' which we do as palm up. Head nod and shake, obvious. Juice (it's actually the drink sign but we use it for juice). Tired/bed/sleep which is the sleep sign (both hands at one side of the face). Go... few more that I can't remember right now.

Was listening to Charlotte earlier. I was packing stuff up to send off for work, and she was standing on a stool singing along to the radio. Price Tag by Jesse Jay came on and she had the pitch perfect on the chorus. Might investigate music with her

Hi EA, no idea about this although it usually isn't a problem in adults. Has she poked her eye or banged her head recently? Might be worth mentioning it to your HV. Have you found anything out?

She always bangs her head, very clumsy baby :o

Its gone now anyway, it disappeared the day of HV clinic!

I did try to google it, but kept getting info back about pink eye!?

I keep trying Squeak on my apple bluebarry and banana and she cringes every time :(
