You aren't alone. I agree with all of you; except that "terrible" isn't bad enough. It's hard to believe that such a large organisation can be SO awful!!!

All I've achieved by going via the web relations team (which is completely against my own principles in itself) is a complete more of the same. Unkept promises, offers to explain it all again to yet another person... an increasingly complicated mess caused by Vodafone which shows no sign of ending.

I genuinely now believe that Vodafone's TRUE purpose in life is to make their customers' lives hell!!

dont know if this helps nut I had a recent issue with my vodafone dongle and after talking to there online instant chat team and getting the feeling I waas been laughed at and several weeks later

I wrote vodafone and trading standards a duplicate letter saying on each one the letter was going vice versa it was resolved within two weeks with vodafone coming to a deal with me to cancel the contract

.. I waas been laughed at

I got that same impression - ive also done the same with trading standards and consumers direct.. Pretty sure they take a step back and reasses when they see you're actually willing to devote some time to make sure they meet their end.

made me chuckle, indeed... Dire was my word for them :)

Im willing to let my issues with them get well out of hand - simply because i know ive done nothing wrong and the company has and my credits not that good anyway..
Not that im a crusader or anything but companies should be held accountable for SOMETHING. :)

Thats a link to my thread, incase potential customers are curious.. Terribly flawed handsets that barely worked.. Sent replacement 'refurbished' handsets that didnt work. Terrible coverage in my town... When the contract was renewed the staff agreed i wouldnt be held to cancellation fees if the handset 'mysteriously stopped working after the 7 days' aaaaand it was all !!!!!!!!.

(Hopefully im not doing anything wrong linking that thread, seems neater than reposting it here so people can see...)

Methinks the only way they will be held to account is when they lose suffcient loyal customers and can't recruit enough replacements. It seems another mission of theirs is to ruin peoples' credit history through no fault of their own!

..oh and since im venting lol

    What about their phone system?

Type in your number.. then navigate to the various departments... then get put on hold for 50 minutes.... then go through your 5th identity check, even though you've already put your mobile number in... then re-explain to the muppet who cant even help you due to his fairly low-level in the food chain everything only to have him say...

"Uh, let me put you on hold for a second"
at which point he runs off and asks (im guessing) the one manager they have to a ratio of 1000 guppies..

Ok, im done. I just had to vent that, after spending so much time hassling with this company over the simplest of things that's it, im off to do something else for the rest of the day and im just going to forget i was ever a vodafone customer.

So glad to see that it's not just me that is frustrated with the lack of help from Vodafone. All I am trying to do is get a letter/email/confirmation showing that because of a faulty handset I have had exchange handsets which clearly shows both the new and old handset make and IMEI numbers. How difficult is this to do!!!! This has been an ongoing problem since beginning of March. What astounds me is that Vodafone are a communications company but are unable to communicate within the various departments. My contract ends shortly and I will definetly be leaving.

Having read this thread, I'm a bit of a cynic and I always believe that any lack of communication (within any organisation who sells a product) is all deliberately designed to grind the customer down in the hope that they will eventually give up ie it is company policy. There is, however, also always a bit of token stupidity within any company's staff, that one is a given.

i first had a problem last year. issues with my handset. The handset was replaced with a reconditioned model and guess what? exactly the same fault. i rang customer services and asked to speak to a manager. despite assurances someone would call it took me 3 days and numerous phone calls to speak to someone with a degree of authority and intelligence. Having logged a complaint i still await an answer 7 months later.

Now in May i have been overcharged for 4 months for data charges that i have accrued. Problem is i dont use the phone during the working day as i work in a secure environment. After a number of phone calls a manager "graciously" offered to refund half the money. I had to lodge another formal comlaint and was contacted that day to say that the money has been refunded to my account but not my bank. i was also offered another handset as there may be a problem. I agreed and was told that i would be called on Friday.

It is now Saturday and once again the so called customer service has let the conusumer down. But on the bright side they are consistent in their poor approach to those that pay their wages!!!

    has anyone had similar problems?
