Ooo just realised that I have a MR breadmaker :rotfl: On go slow today I think!

Need to make a small loaf because I find I make a big one and half of it goes hard before we get chance to eat it

Off to try and find the recipe book now!

BTW where abouts was the cheese/onion loaf recipe?

woooo hoo :T about time too TNG :D

Mind you I have managed to polish off almost a whole pack of butter to myself since the MRFBBM arrived so am fattening up for Xmas :) every cloud & all that :)

when was it confirmed? Have you been out and bought your yeast/ flour/ etc for the prep?

INcidentally, I have been thinking about using an old very thin pillowcase for storing my bread in - mind you it only lasts for a few hours so I guess its fine :D

Also Pink, have you got any old mobile phones anywhere, I found one yesterday & ill get 2.19 ( it is that old!) for it in argos vouchers, ( via envirofone) which reduces the cost of the electric knife to a fiver :money:

Ordered Saturday, confirmed Sunday. The order reckoned delivery today (yeah, right). Fingers are crossed.........

I haven't been and got me ingredients yet, I don't want to tempt fate :o. Anyway, I wouldn't know what to get until I've seen my recipe book

I like the idea of a pillowcase to keep it in ;). May have to borrow that idea. By the sound of things, you don't need to concern yourself with storing it, it doesn't last long enough :D :rotfl:

can somebody PLEASE put up a recipe that works for basic loaf of white bread? ive followed the one in the MRBM manual n all loaves come out like cakes......

I use the basic white and we find it lovely

Although we only do a 1lb one no point in having it stale is there.

Maybe reduce the amount of powdered milk carrie?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Ooo I was going to ask what this sandwich loaf is that I heard someone mention.

I've just put some bread on but veered slightly from the recipe as didn't have an egg or dried onions! Though I think I've got the basics in there right so we shall see :D Will be ready by the time the children get home...don't think they'll mind if I borrow them to taste!

Oh and also my blade never gets stuck in the bread as I can't take it off the tin!!! It's stuck, I've tried soaking, yanking, twisting to no avail

Lynz, got a few old mobiles lying around, so thanks for the tip! I won't need to use it for the electric carving knife though......managed to pick one up at a car boot sale yesterday for £1.50! :j I do have my eye on this though! :o

TNG, go and get those ingredients NOW! My breadmaker arrived a day early and I didn't have what I needed in and it was horrible looking at it but not being able to play with it! You'll need:

    Skimmed milk powder
    Sunflower oil
    Sugar
    Salt
Strong white flour (I started with hovis, but now using tesco's own brand)
Fast action yeast (again tesco's own brand)

My breadmaker has been a great success.......I haven't bought bread since we got it and my family all prefer it to shop bought. The novelty hasn't worn off yet and if things keep going like this, maybe I can persuade Mr Pink that the electric slicer is an essential item! ;)

I want an electric slicer! My parents have one I don't think they use much that I might "borrow" :D

I always seem to end up with doorstops when cutting bread! Squashed doorsteps!

Hi Can I join in. I've been thinking about a breadmaker for a while now and our co-op has a Morphy Richards at £29.00

I made a batch of rolls using the pre-mixed seeded flour, if you know what I mean. You only have to use water.
They seemed okay, I made them on Saturday, but they seem abit hard this morning. Perhaps I should have frozen them

I see a few receipes call for powder milk but I don't have milk as it upsets me and powdered milk isn't any different. Would this be a problem?

The usual recipe I use (on the back of the hovis sachet yeast) doesn't call for milk :)

Made some bread the other day on the normal white bread setting and it was the best yet! A little too milk flavoured, but lovely!
