it took about 4 days i just rang halifax up and asked for 6 years of statements they asked if it where for bank charges i said it was for tax credits and she said ok they will be with you in abouts 6 days and it cost a fiver instead of £10 if you send a letter0 -
I've just had the standard "thanks for your complaint - wait between 4-8 weeks" yadda yadda yadda letter from the Halifax. I presume the advice fromt the great & good here is to stay to the original timeline as dictated by us, rather than fall into theirs ? Also, is my issue technically a complaint ? I must admit, this did throw me when I first read it. Advice please ...!0

Moring all,
This morning I have had the standard 8 weks to reply to your bank charges letter. Can I send the third letter today? or should i wait untill 14 days have past?0 -
Well I gave them until Fri 13th to sort this out or else I would start court proceedings. I was going to give them a ring on Fri to ask if they would be prepared to settle before I go to the next stage, unfortunatly I was in London all day and didnt get back till late so I had to wait until today.
Yes I was panicking at the thought of starting court proceedings so I thought I would give them a ring, doesnt do any harm I thought...so I phoned and asked if they were prepared to settle (I did have to be careful and say 'settle' and NOT 'offer' )this claim....the lady said lets see where we are at...and no my claim was just stuck there not being dealt with...'Ohh by the way how did you get this number'(01244694695) and I said I got it from friends that had also made a claim. She then said yes thats ok I am able to push this forward, I will deal with this myself directly and I will get an offer letter out to you in the post this evening.
So to all you out there like me who are shaking in their boots...DONT TAKE ANY BULL....you decide NOT them...Make a quick phone call, be firm but polite..maybe you wont get anywhere, but at least you are letting them know that you arent happy with their time scales...I could have sat 8 weeks and waited for a letter that said I have to wait a further 8 weeks who knows....They can sort it out when they want to...But they need a little push from yourselves... GO FOR IT!!

Thanks Ladyhawk, I tried the same tactic on Thursday and stated that I was on the court steps with claimform in hand, was told more or less get lost, filed a summary clause claim with local sheriff court, a summons should be served on HBOS this week, Am afraid not everyone is as helpful on phone, HBOs bring it on:mad:BORN TO RIDE - FORCED TO DRIVE

keep to your timescale and send off the letter at the appropriate time as edinburghlass says (link below). I'm not sure where you are on your timescale, reading below may help. Keep going.
EG.: below (FAQ's thread)
The bank have told me it will take x number of weeks to investigate my complaint, shall I wait?
No, if you have followed the templates, you have given them sufficient time at each stage to resolve the matter. Continue with your timetable.

Can anyone help I am trying to contact Customer Relations department Halifax regarding my bank charges , however I have tried to call them about 20 times this week and end up being on hold each time for about 20 minutes - half an hour and still not getting through , Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know of another contact number that can get me through , as after reading previous forums , some of you have said that you get straight through when telephoning , Its really getting frustrating now !!!
Thanks
Yes I had this and according to my phone was on hold for 35 mins before getting an answer. The guy apologised, they are abs. floored with calls. We should claim our phone call charges back also! :rotfl:We will win this! we will!.... and we did! :j

Part result! :T Had two letters with offers (both considerably less than what I asked for), I need to ring a direct line and talk it through with someone, hopefully come back with good news!

Result! : Amount initially requested was just under 10K.. amount going to receive.. just under 10K
I was one of the doubting Thomas', now I'm a believer in hanging on in there.:TWe will win this! we will!.... and we did! :j

I have the same query Archie - Can anyone help at all?? Not sure if I should wait the 4-8 weeks or go ahead and send the 2nd letter threatning legal proceedings.
