  • Hey there all.

I have just started a claim against Halifax. Having sent my intial letter for my claim (requesting a decison within 14 days) they have replied telling me they will investigate my complaint. This will take between 4-8 weeks. Question! Do I send my 2nd letter threating court action now (as they have replied to my first) or do I still have to wait for the intial 14 days to end that I originally gave them to deal with it before taking further action?!

    Any help more than welcome!!!!!

Hi please could anyone help me

I filed a claim with the Halifax back in Jan, I am now in the process of still waiting for my money. I send a letter off to them a few weeks ago stating pay up within 14 days or I will start court proceeding.
I received a letter off them stating that they will deal with my case on or no later than 3rd April.

Court proceeding could start on thursday 19th April. I am really worried about this.

I am thinking of phoning them on wednesday to try and sort it, but really not sure what to say to them. Please could someone give me the phone number.

    Could anyone help me

    Thanks in advance

YEY ! Well done and good luck. Don't worry halifax usually take it this far...just a case of sitting back and waiting for 28 days to get their defence.

    Keep us informed xx

Hi Kate - don't worry about starting court proceedings, its quite standard now to have to go through this stage before receiving your money. STICK TO YOUR TIMETABLE, or you'll be waiting forever.

We all feel this way when starting court proceedings ... just bear in mind that rarely does it actually get to court and, even if it does, the bank will not turn up to defend themselves, as they basically have nothing to defend and wouldn't risk losing (which they wouldicon7.gif). You will get your money back and good luck!
