    No £4.55

Total came to £22.50. 22 for the book and 2.50 for postage. I received 17.95. I don't mind the amount just wondered if it was a set amount or not

Sorry if its in the wrong place.

Basically a month ago I put some old textbooks on Amazon to raise some money.

Haven't heard anything up until today when I get a message from a member saying they have bought my item and hadn't received it yet. I had no email from Amazon saying its been sold. Do they do this or do I have to check my account regularly? I have seen it has been sold but how and when do I get payment? Its coming up on Amazon its been paid but how do I receive the money

    Thanks

I have just found out that a book has sold for me too but didnt receive any email from amazon to let me know. Found out when received an email to say that payment transfer to my account had been initiated. When I checked my account I see that the book was actually purchased 10 days ago. I have sold a couple of books on amazon previously and always received an email acknowledgement of the sale. Have emailed the seller to apologise for the delay in postage due to my not realising it had sold but am interested to read the OP was in a similar situation...has anyone else had any problems???

Usually you would receive an email (make sure they have the right address) detailing the charges, which are that high, yes, and where you should send the book etc. The email states that you 'have agreed to send the item within two working days'. The seller receives confirmation of their purchase stating they should expect their book to arrive in 4-6 weeks or something silly like that. The payment goes directly to your bank account, as long as they have the details. Have a look at your listings and see if you're missing any more emails and have a word with amazon about it when it happens again.

It is great when you are given books and they sell. I was recently give a couple of carrier bags of fiction books. Some of them were the dreaded 1p items, with absolutely loads listed, but quite a few of them have sold giving me a few quid profit here and there.

My local charity shop has a three for a pound paperbacks at the moment and they are a mix of fiction and non fiction. I bought six this week and have already sold two.

Been a bit quiet this week though so having a bit of a whinge here.

I'm really sorry things haven't gone smoothly for you.

I always check my 'closed listings' page in my account for books that have sold. I have it on favourites and check at least twice a day. Then, when something has sold I go to my emails for delivery details. Doing it that way I am able to tell very quickly if I haven't recieved an email and can follow it up.

If you go to work, check it before you go. And then again when you come home. I usually find books have sold overnight and there is something for me to post in the morning.

Payment will go into your account every two weeks from Amazon. You will get an email telling you that they are transferring the money. This can take several days to reach your account. Hope that helps.
