I might try earlier but I am relying on luck as I am very new at this. What time do people tend to go to pick up the best bargains?[/QUOTE]

Well I tend to go about half ten but yesterday didnt get there until 11a.m. (I was being taxi driver to the kids!!)

I find that its better for me to go later. By then a lot of the sellers are eager to get rid of their books so will sell them for 10p or 20p. (BTW I never pay more than 50p for a book). One week I asked a seller how much he wanted for a book and he said 'oh just take what you want for nothing.' so cheeky me asked if I could have the wholebox and he answered 'go ahead'!! I think he just wanted rid of them and didnt want to take them back home.

Can I ask for some advice please.

I have books to sell that are in what I would call a poor condition - notes scribbled in the margins etc. How can I list them and describe the condition accurately? The drop down menu doesn't allow for conditions below 'acceptable', shame to throw them away as at least one of them is out of print.

Ask yourself this question - would you buy the book in the condition it's in? If not, then you're probably better not listing them.

If they're "special" then maybe list them as acceptable and put in the description about the markings.

Have to say though, unless it was something I was desperate for I wouldn't want a book with someone else's scribbling in.
  • I think Amazon are having a few problems as I haven't sold anything for 5 days (normally I sell 1 a day on average) and when I look at some of my listed books, neither has anyone else as all the listings seem to be the same and haven't moved.

Also there is still the issue of some payments still not coming through properly - this hasn't affected me as yet but my payment is due to be issued today - I'm not holding my breath!!

This could all be to do with last weeks 3 'maintenance' sessions of course!!

Anyone else seen slow sales since Friday?

Maybe this whinge will improve things!!!

I had a payment come in to my bank account yesterday 16/10/2006 that left my Amazon account on 5/10/2006 so seems to be working but slow on the payment front.

Slow sales for me too, but not so slow for me I want to use up an official board whinge, will save that for when really bad! :o
  • I haven't sold anything for over a week and I was selling at least 5 per week before this.

Funny time of year, I think people have maybe realised Christmas isn't that far away and sales will probably pick up in November.

I think I've just had the switched item scam done on me :(

Buyer buys a PS2 game, sold as marked but good. Within 2 days tells me they are returning it for a full refund (which of course Amazon allow) as they didn't realise they were buying a used game..they thought it was new and sealed.

Arrived back this morning and my good 'slightly marked' disc is now very scratched and barely in an acceptable condition.

I can't prove anything nor can I refuse the refund so I am stuck. Am just about to refund through gritted teeth. Am seriously consdiering not listing games etc through Amazon any longer and sticking with books.

    Soo
