  • Nothing yesterday, but 5 today so I am happy.
Going on a cruise next week and will have to close down for 12 days. I feel genuinley gutted about losing sales.

  • Just had to issue a refund. Sold a book earlier on in the week and it was a pending that never went through so I relisted it yesterday. Somehow amazon have now managed to sell 2 copies of the book to 2 different people.
Have refunded and apologised. The name on the email doesn't match the sellers name though so got a feeling that they won't get the email and then want to know where their book is in a week or so.
Just waiting for the negative feedback to come in.
    April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£150
  • Hi Smartcat,

Amazon did the same to me over a pending last week and I ended up selling 1 copy to 2 people - so I had to refund.

It happened during their 'maintenance' period!!!!

All really rather quiet for sales at the moment - could do with some SDN emails please.

Thought I would share this with you all. I was given a couple of boxes of books and after a quick trawl through most of them were only fit for the car boot sale and some sadly were so bad they had to be recycled. As I was putting them in the recycle basket a book fell out of another book onto my foot. I thought this must be an omen and took it inside to look at later. I have just put the ISBN into amazon ans there are 4 others listed all in USA going for between £50- £70 odd  Mine is in good condition so I have listed it for £50 it's only a small child's board book by Richard Scarry.
How scary is that - it could be in the recycling basket now!!!!!!

Well dont wish to dampen your enthusiasm but if the other listers are any of the regular American sellers who put ludicrous prices on everything then your book may not actually worth much.

    Sorry
  • I had a good day. Went to car boot this morning and only managed to pick up 12 books so was a bit disappointed. Came home and listed them this p.m. and 2 hours later sold one for £10!! Then this evening sold a boxed video set for £15!! SO all in all - a fantastic day!! Long may it continue LOL!!

Another thing to watch for, and something I wasn't aware of until Apprentice Tycoon pointed it out, is later editions.
A search on ISBN will show only your edition, but search for *all* editions of that book as there may be other editions at 1p. Unfortunately that is what happened to one of my finds :( I thought I had a £30 book but a search for all editions turned up many other editions selling in their hundreds for 1p a go.

Christina, that's great! I went to a car boot yesterday around 8am and there was nothing there. Came back with two 1p books so wasted a pound. I don't know whether it is my inexperience, the boot sale, or I didn't go early enough.

I might try earlier but I am relying on luck as I am very new at this. What time do people tend to go to pick up the best bargains?

I'm so addicted to selling on Amazon. Nothing in my house is safe. LOL

Flurry of sales, then nothing...it's worse than being in love!
