Happy Birthday BM!! Have a fabby day!

Good luck with the scan Krystal. Are you finding out the flavour, or hoping for a lovely yellow surprise?

Becles, Charlotte is just so sweet.

SS, poor lil Molly, I hope her medicine starts to work soon and she feels a bit better.

Michelle, avocadoes are (when ripe) really creamy textured. I can't really describe the taste very well, other than it's not a strong flavour. You can eat them in sandwiches, salads, guacamole and also use them as a baby puree for A. They've got lots of very good for you fats and vitamins (although I'm sure lovely Weezl could do a much better job of explaining their nutritious qualities.)

Michelle - avocados have a creamy texture (they are high in good fats) but are rather plain on their own. I find them yummy either made into guacamole dip or on a sandwich with bacon & tomato :D.

I think they are in lots of baby recipes because of the fats & mild flavor.

Glad, we understand and will try and not be naughty in the future :D.

SS, wastage is a huge problem here (we neeeeeed a dog so I can save my back with the constant sweeping! :p). Honestly, it's really difficult to avoid as Finn is a food-thrower/dropper. I suppose the only thing is only give little bits at a time and replenish as she cleans her tray. That way, you avoid the shove-everything-left-on-the-floor trick when they are full.

Quick question (please dont think duh, or OMG), got DH to get me an avocado as there are lots of baby recipes with them. However, ive never actually ever had one- what do they taste like? What kind of texture do they have? And what would you eat it with (adults)?

I'd never had it before so I tried a bit of T's and it was horrid! He seemed to enjoy it altho it didn't make as smooth a puree as the others.

I'm feeling a bit :( as it looks as tho my Grandma might not be well enough to come to T's Christening on Sunday. She got shingles about a month ago and it's really knocked her. She seemed a lot better last week when I spoke to her but sounded awful again last night. She lives in the North East so she needs to be well enough for the journey as well as the Christening.

    :rotfl:at Charlotte

We had another good night, T slept until 5.45 then went back down till 7.45.

    *hugs* for Hammy

Glad, when threads are merged into this one does the thread starter get a PM to let them know that's what's happened?

Do they keep merging threads into this one without saying anything? Because there have been two posts here where people have asked a question (one about the clock change and one about twiddling hair) where the person has put something in the "title" field (which one usually only does when starting a thread) and then there have been loads of replies to the question without quoting which is more what people would do if it was in it's own thread rather than in the middle of one with lots of chat going on. I noticed it happened in the last thread because someone posted on thread and then another posat appeared where she actually said it was a new thread and that she'd already posted here. I thought the board guides normally said if they merged a thread and I can't see how it could possibly be helpful to the OPs to have their threads merged into one full of loads of other stuff.

ETA: It would also explain the moving posts and why people are missing posts.

Usually they put a message under it saying

'I have meged/moved this thread to somewhere it will get more answers'.

And if they are moving without saying that, it's going to cause more folk to call us all cliquiey when we don't notice the new thread.

But then, I get the idea we're not wanted on here anymore when most of our posts are being deleted.

    Thus I say, Facebook rocks!

two threads were merged with this one yesterday :)
they were relatively short and most people managed to sort out which answer was to which question, I'm not sure about the merging in the last thread :)

this is the parent club thread for moneysaving tips for parents, and occasional questions about children where other parents may be able to help, some of which are not moneysaving :) rather than having to move non money queries out of the family board, if I can I'll add them to this thread, it means the moneysaving threads are easier to find :)

looking back some other posts have been removed for different reasons, either referring to a locked thread that had caused some unrest (best not to continue a locked discussion on another thread, especially on one of the moneysaving boards), and some have been removed for swearing where the word has been altered to get around the MSE swear filter

SS, not really sure how you can control it, as kids are horribly fickle (gotta love 'em though;)) My mum used to do us 'bitsas' as in bits of this and bits of that. There was three of us though, so she didn't have to store anything, but I guess you could scoop a bit of yoghurt into a bowl and stick the rest in the fridge or something.

Glad I was in the Arms last night and there were plenty of threads containing unfiltered swear words (the S word completely unfiltered/unaltered was the one I was most surprised about). Why is it that those are allowed to remain? And (please don't delete, I'll edit as soon as I know, can I say !!!! in here and it not be filtered out?)

Apparently not. So there's a different swearing policy in the Arms. Interesting.

    Hugs Gill.. XXX

Oh, forgot about the clocks going back. I think we're planning on letting A have a longer nap around 6/7 (she has a short one usually) then just play with her, walk her around to keep her awake- we're aiming for 9 o'clock  . I know that wont work with everyone as LOs can get overtired. But if A's dad is here, she tends to just want to play.

A has almost figured out the jumperoo now, except she keeps putting her hands inside the seat part and getting them stuck. Then she starts eating the edge of the seat out of boredom. It's wet through!

Can someone please tell me what to do today? My plan is Tesco (a 10 min walk away). Ive no cleaning or sorting to do (apart from hoovering front room and mopping kitchen floor, but its not urgent).
