Jillie if Husband was whinging about there only being one of something in the fridge I'd take the one he had and put it somewhere he wouldn't think to look, and if he moaned then ask if there actually *is* something worse than only having one and tell him to go buy his own and get me one while he's there.

And then after I'd drunk the one he brought me I'd get out the second one and see what he said.

If my husband was going on about 'his cans' and 'my cans' then he would be out on his arris with 'his cans' following swiftly behind him...

Does anyone else carry snacks around with them everywhere? I don't leave the house without a pot of ricecakes, a pot of breadsticks and some raisin/grape type snack!!
I do. I think people think it's a bit weird when I give Alice a piece of fruit or raisins and coconut instead of a biscuit.

I get that as well Susan, I get really fed-up of people offering her biscuits or sweets as 'a treat' - she loves fresh fruit, she's not deprived and it's better for her!! I sometimes feel I ought to carry cards with that printed on them and hand them out to everyone who looks at us a bit funny.

Which reminds me. I changed Benjamin's nappy today, it was just a wee. I wiped him and then wiped my hands with a separate wipe which I tucked inside the folded nappy...

Nephew was stood by wanting to help so I asked him if he would pop the nappy in the bin for me. He happily obliged but SIL followed him and made him wash his hands.

Now am I a bit of a minger or was she being overly concerned? It wasn't in a nappy bag, I only use bags for dirty ones, but it was wrapped up tightly and fastened with the tags?
I have to confess that if it was my own childs nappy I wouldn't be bothered in the slightest but if it was someone else's child's nappy I probably would. In the same way that if Alice slobbered on me as a baby I didn't mind and would just wipe it with a muslin but if someone else's child slobbered on me I would use a wipe or wash it off. Which is all probably completely irrational.

Good of you to let him sleep off his beer Jillie :)

I just had my :money: Approved Foods bread mix bread. It's a bit denser than I was expecting considering how much it rose but quite good. Nomnomnom. I wonder if they still have it? ;)

Edit: I am profoundly depressed that they have Rice Krispies in the baking section, but SJ if you're about they have packs of cake jelly toppers 2 for 99p. I don't know if that's a bargain?

Quick question (please dont think duh, or OMG), got DH to get me an avocado as there are lots of baby recipes with them. However, ive never actually ever had one- what do they taste like? What kind of texture do they have? And what would you eat it with (adults)?
I don't like avaocados but you can grow avocado trees from the stone. They're a bit temperamental though.

How do people prevent wasted food with littlies around? I'm looking at the table and there's the scrag end of a yoghurt, a half-portion of scrambled egg with mushrooms, a third of a banana and a chunk of German sausage all left over from Molly's insistence that she's hungry but wants a variety of different things and not a full meal of the same taste/texture. Short of eating the leftovers myself to save them going to waste, which I don't want to do because it's just extra unnecessary calories I can use on Toblerone, how can I stop the wastage?
I tend to start Alice off with a smaller portion and then give her more or something else if she's still hungry. Is she usually like that though or is it just because she's ill?

ooh this time 2 weeks we'll be on the plane to Lanzarote.

and my silly sister....i found osme insurance for her and mum on one of the irish comparison websites but she didnt tell them bout mum's pre-existing medical condition and has no cancellation cover. So I've told her she's got to be very careful and not hurt herself incase she cant go on the holiday. She is incredibly clumsy and is always falling over her feet. So her Dr is sending her for a brain scan :( although the Dr has said there is probably nothing there but best to have it checked out. So is she is quite woried bout it. She has an appointment after we get back from holidays. have not googled anything as i scared myself silly last year googling things when i was pg
