Sorry to hear about bogie central! Hugs to all that need them!
Happy Birthday BM!
Good luck with scan Krystal!
Hello Susan!
Well we are now officially down to one get up at night, and its exactly 7 hours after she goes to bed! :T:T:T She woke up at 6:30 am so I though id push my luck and put her dummy back in along with her comfort teddy- after 10 minutes of hovering around the cot it dawned on me that she was putting herself back to sleep! Then DH started snorting so had to give him a poke in the ribs and a telling off.Clearly the 5pm dinner has helped! :T
Quick question (please dont think duh, or OMG), got DH to get me an avocado as there are lots of baby recipes with them. However, ive never actually ever had one- what do they taste like? What kind of texture do they have? And what would you eat it with (adults)?First baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0 -
Michelle - it needs to be softer rather than rock solid (not nice when it is hard)
Avocado, bacon and cheese sandwiches - yummy!!
Made into guacamole - yummy!!
Avocado and prawn salad - yummy!!
Slices of avocado on their lonesome - yummy!!
It has a smooth texture, should be easy to mush with a fork and it tastes like.....avocado *shrug*please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Michelle they're related to mango and have the same sort of texture, and they taste like creamy green, if that makes sense.
Sorry, Dora, I missed the new word - :j for Manny!
Aless it'll be ok I'm sure, maybe move up dinner to match? When we go to the UK I move everything five minutes earlier every day for the week before we leave so that by the actual day we're roughly on UK time. It'll mean a week of very early dinnertimes but then everything will be at the regular time.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I love avocado, and Henry did too when he was little. They are quite creamy tasty, good sliced in sandwiches with cheese or salad. Also really good in wraps. Avocado is mashed with lime and chilli to make guacamole, which of course is good with all Mexican food.
H used to like it mashed with apple puree or banana but he finds it very slippery to hold and hard to eat in pieces! Make sure the avocado is slightly soft to the squeeze before you use it as rock hard ones are bleurgh!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Do they keep merging threads into this one without saying anything? Because there have been two posts here where people have asked a question (one about the clock change and one about twiddling hair) where the person has put something in the "title" field (which one usually only does when starting a thread) and then there have been loads of replies to the question without quoting which is more what people would do if it was in it's own thread rather than in the middle of one with lots of chat going on. I noticed it happened in the last thread because someone posted on thread and then another posat appeared where she actually said it was a new thread and that she'd already posted here. I thought the board guides normally said if they merged a thread and I can't see how it could possibly be helpful to the OPs to have their threads merged into one full of loads of other stuff.
ETA: It would also explain the moving posts and why people are missing posts.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Hi Hammy
the only place on MSE for 'vote' threads is the referrers boardladybirdintheuk wrote: »Hammy how frustrating. One thing to delete the links, but can't they just edit the post with a "link removed because it breaks the rules". It makes me cross when they do that (and makes me sound like I'm talking nonsense too).

sorry if you think it's rude, I'm just following the rulesladybirdintheuk wrote: »If not Hammy can you go post it over there, then link us to your post on that thread?
linking to the post on other threads would also be against the rules and deleted sorryI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I do MFD, Bruno's confused himself with her in the past too :rotfl:
How do people prevent wasted food with littlies around? I'm looking at the table and there's the scrag end of a yoghurt, a half-portion of scrambled egg with mushrooms, a third of a banana and a chunk of German sausage all left over from Molly's insistence that she's hungry but wants a variety of different things and not a full meal of the same taste/texture. Short of eating the leftovers myself to save them going to waste, which I don't want to do because it's just extra unnecessary calories I can use on Toblerone, how can I stop the wastage?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
