Ordered one yesterday over the phone, should be delivered this afternoon.

Registered a sim I bought last month (with £10 topup), said as it's new they can't offer me a discount.

Told them I had an older sim, but hardly used it (used £4 credit in about 3 years for orange Weds). Gave the number...he registered it over the phone for me and gave me £31 off (inc £1 phone fund).

So, £78.99 delivered including a £10 topup! really chuffed with that.

Note for others though, sim does need to be at least three months old, but doesn't need to be used often or registered.
It depends who you speak to. Some will say the 3 month rule others won't care. I had to call 2 or 3 times before I got someone to put my brand new SIM discount through.
  • I've had a gel case but this is the best one I have found:

Sorry for the late reply - been away for a few days. Thanks a lot for this info :)

Will definitely look into Giffgaff as well - not heard of them before.

As an aside, how do you think the Orange Sanfrancisco compares with the Samsung Galaxy Europa?

I understand that the San Francisco is better. I am very happy with mine, in fact I bought a second one for my girlfriend. This time the Orange shop made me buy a £20 top-up with the phone, but as they still gave me a £20 NHS discount the total cost was still only £99 which is a brilliant price for such a good phone.

Has anyone bought a good case or cover thats not a flip please:beer:
  • not sure if this has been posted, but play.com are going to start selling this phone for £99 this week, including the top up:

Could be an option if you can't get any discounts to work

Aaarrgh - just trying to call orange to see if I can swap this phone for another due to its defective wifi and discovered that it costs 25p/min to call customer services. They also have a long convoluted automated system to ensure max. money gained.

Edit: In any case a new one is on its way to me tomorrow.

New one arrived no problem - well done to orange.

However, i don't think I'm ready for the world of smartphones so am probably just going to sell the replacement on fleabay.

Ive found the battery life to be poor, worse than my 3GS.
The volume for music is way to low for me anyway.
Cant grumble at the price tho im only using it as a back up phone.

Yep these are major let downs for me, I only thought iPhone battery life was bad until I saw this in action, and yes music volume is shocking low, you can get it higher by tinkering but my battery life ran out in 2hrs:eek: Which I guess is why its supposed to be kept at the low volume

I love it, but battery life is poor, I'd say around 20-26 hours normal usage. That's including a few calls and texts, bit of browsing and push emails. I do use an app killer a couple of times a day too. Don't really play music, I haven't got round to moving all the pics and music across from my old phone yet so couldn't comment.
